Title: The Rebel Trap
Series: Rebel #2
Author: Lance Erlick
Publication Date: October 1, 2014
Genre: YA Sci-Fi
Voices in 16-year-old Annabelle Scott’s head aren’t God or signs she’s going mad—yet. Despite being a Mech Warrior recruit, she rebels against her post-Second Civil War society by not only refusing to kill Morgan, a boy she’s attracted to, but also helping him escape.
Annabelle’s commander gives her auditory implants and contact cams for an undercover assignment to investigate her corrupt police captain. Morgan hacks the implants to plead for her help in freeing his brother. As a pawn in a bigger game, can she find a way to help Morgan and discover the link between an attempted assassination of her adoptive mom, the geek institute, and her police captain without falling into a trap, being exiled and separated from family, or getting herself and those she cares about killed?
The Rebel Trap was written as a standalone story, but also follow Annabelle’s adventures from The Rebel Within.
My Review:

If you are like me and love reading YA Fantasy or Dystopian books, then you will love this story! It is a series of books and while I didn't get to read the first book, I was still able to understand a good bit of the story. But, if you can, I would get the first book because I think it goes into detail what happened and how this comes to be a female society that evidently uses males.

In this book, Belle is being punished for not killing a boy whom she was in a game of some sort in front of a lot of other females and these are fight to the death battles. Not sure what happened since I didn't read the first book to know why this society came about, but boy, it sure is intense!

Read how Belle is different from the other girls who are out for blood and how she wants to help the boys escape this awful life to a place called the Outlands which is where they can get freedom and be safe.

I can't wait to read the third book to see how it all ends!

Happy Reading!
