Life Is What It Is Book Review

You are going to really enjoy this book! It's a collection of stories that a writer for an opinion column in a newspaper writes about the people who live in her small town called Life Is What It Is written by Lisa Sugarman.

Synopsis:
We expend massive amounts of energy in pursuit of perfection. If only we could never make mistakes or encounter unpleasant obstacles, oh, wouldn't life be just perfect? Maybe, but it would also be static, unfulfilling, and really, really boring.
Humorist Lisa Sugarman knows that life is a work in progress. She knows what we all suspect—life is at its best when it's fluid, unpredictable, and gloriously imperfect. And if this means life sometimes turns ugly and unpleasant, it only makes the good times that much sweeter.
Author of opinion column It Is What It Is, Lisa embraces reality, not perfection. We're supposed to be imperfect. We're meant to screw up, make bad decisions, and lose our way. We can't control everything that life throws at us, but we can control how we react to it.
With the right attitude and a little guidance from Lisa, anyone can be happy and fulfilled most of the time. Her collection of funny, inspiring, and sometimes poignant columns reminds us that life is not a straight line, even on the best of days, and it's the twists in the road which make the journey so beautiful.

This is a very funny book about things that go on inside a small town and how one person has an opinion on EVERYTHING! I live in such a small town, so I know all about these type of columns in the local newspaper and you just gotta love the humor in the stories.

Some are probably embellished a little to make them more bizarre but don't make any mistakes, they really did happen and there is a grain of salt in every single story. I have never laughed so much! You will get a kick out of seeing what goes on in little town, USA and it might remind you of where you live also.

We all have our opinions so this might even hit close to home and if it does, just laugh with the story and enjoy this one writer's story telling which is her opinion of what is going on at any given moment in her town.

Happy Reading!
