Dead Sea Mineral Mud Cleanser Review

If you have a dog and need a really good shampoo, then I have just the product for you to try. It's called Dead Sea Mineral Mud Cleanser from a company called Hampi Natural Pet Spa.
Main Ingredients:
  • 8.5 fl. oz / 250 ml
  • Dead Sea Mineral Mud
  • Dead Sea Salt
  • Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract
  • Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
  • Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract
  • Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract

  • It does have a very nice scent (like apricots) to it and Charlie was very interested in the scent also as you can see. But, then again, I haven't tried any Dead Sea Minerals that didn't smell good whether for dogs or humans.
This cleanser will purify and cleanse your dog for a hydrated skin (if your dog has dry skin like Charlie, all Yorkies do) and it will make their coat look revitalized.
Wet coat and apply a generous amount of Mud Cleanser and for a rich lather, massage into the coat, from root to the tip. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat if needed. They recommend using their Dead Sea Mineral conditioner, but I didn't have that one here. You can use this product every 3 to 4 weeks.
Oh, one other thing, this shampoo will not lather and suds up like you are used to, so don't keep putting it on. Just coat their whole body with a thin layer and just massage into the skin. It will penetrate the skin and reach the roots, which will give them the relief that they need.
If your dog is like Charlie, he loves scents, especially in lotions and he is constantly trying to lick all of my lotion off, so I had to be careful and watch him like a hawk so he didn't try to eat this cleanser before I had a chance to rinse him off! He's a character that is for sure. That is why I don't have any pictures of him wet, because if I had left him for a second, he would have been licking that stuff off!
    How to use:
    For Full Body Treatment:
For dogs with skin issues once a week For regular dog grooming once every 3 - 4 weeks

How long should it be left on:
    For full Body Treatments:
Option 1) Rinse the Mud out immediately after massage it in from head to tail.
Option 2) Leave in for up to 1 hour/until Mud dries and crumbles off and then rinse.
    Tips and Tricks
After applying the mud, wrap the body with a towel.
    For Spot Treatments:
Leave in for up to 1 hour/until Mud dries and crumbles off and then rinse.

    Tips and Tricks
After applying the mud, wrap the treatment area with a towel or elastic bandage.
I have been using it as a spot treatment for a few specific area's because Charlie won't let me put it on where he can reach it, so he doesn't get the full body treatment. But, there are a few spots on his neck and around his ears that seem to irritate him the most, so I will put a few drops there to try and help relieve some of his itching.
All Yorkies have dry skin in case you didn't know and we have tried numerous shampoos and other treatments trying to find something to give him some relief. Another thing we do if you notice, is we keep his hair cut short. When it starts to get long, he starts biting his legs and stomach so we have to keep him buzzed. Yes, he is beautiful with the longer hair, but he is miserable.

This is the best haircut for him with all of his skin problems. In July and August I will have them even buzz his facial hair so he doesn't have that full face. He will look like a rat terrier then but at least he will be cooler and his skin won't bother him so much. I think it's the strangest thing that Yorkie's have long hair but are miserable so why they were breed that way with their skin is beyond me.
