I have another Laura Childs book called Steeped in Evil, about Theodosia Browning and her tea shop!Synopsis:
In the newest mystery from the New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Tea Revenge, Indigo Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning is about to learn the true meaning of terroir…
Theodosia Browning has never considered herself a wine connoisseur—tea has always been her forte. But that doesn’t mean she’s going to pass up an invitation to a fancy wine-tasting party at the upscale Knighthall Winery, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina.
But a sweet evening takes on a bitter aftertaste when a dead body is discovered in one of the wine barrels. The son of proprietor Jordan Knight has been murdered.
Dissatisfied with the police investigation, Knight turns to Theo for help. She’s heard through the grapevine that there are both family and business problems at Knighthall. They say in vino veritas, but everyone at the winery seems to be lying through their teeth. Sorting through the guest list as well as family and staff, Theo has her pick of suspects. It may look like the killer has her over a barrel, but cracking tough cases is vintage Theodosia Browning. If you have ever read a book by Laura Childs, then you will know her series starring Theodosia and her tea shop are very popular and this latest book is just as good as all the others! Theodosia somehow manages to walk right into all of these mystery/murders without enough having to go looking for trouble, it just finds her.
Who would have thought that a wine tasting would end p with a dead body in one of the barrels holding some of the wine! I know I for one would not want a drop of that wine.
Of course, the local cops aren't getting nowhere so the father of the dead man called up Theo and asked for her help. She goes thru several people on the suspect list but narrows it down after awhile. It's been my observation that the least likely person is often the real killer. I guess because they are so smart and can act like nothing bothers them, but it's the little details in the end that trap them.
If you love Laura Child's books or nice cozy mysteries/murders, then this will be one book you won't be able to put down until you finish reading until the end!
