Growth Factor Challenge Review

I recently got 2 different products to review and to compare to see which one works the best or if they are both doing the same thing. It was an interesting way to compare products and I wish I had more time to do that since we all know that you really don't see lasting benefits for a few months, but I did get some overall impressions of both of these growth factor products.

Let's start with the Regenica(®)growth factor product first. This is the Overnight Repair that is part of the Advanced Skin Rejuvenation System.

They have a Day Repair and a Facial Rejuvenation Complex also, but all I got was the Overnight Repair. I would imagine if you had all three products at the same time, you would definitely have some seriously awesome looking skin!

Here is what the Overnight Repair cream does:

  • Helps repair skin with seven humectants including shea butter, ceramide three and sea kelp extract
  • Three anti-oxidants including vitamins A, C, E
  • Two amino acids help enhance cell turnover

  •
I have to admit that the Overnight Repair was a very smooth and creamy lotion that went on easily and felt really good on my dry skin.

I also noticed that it did not have any bad chemical like scents, which is something I always notice right off the bat. I won't say it determines whether I use a product or not, but I definitely prefer for my skincare products to either have no scent or a nice, mild and calming scent versus a bad chemical scent.

    What exactly does Regenica(®) do?
Regenica(®) works by accelerating the body's own cells' ability to repair, renew, and resist damage due to aging and environmental stress. The unique mixture of proteins and growth factors that are produced make up the patented CCM Complex found in Regenica(®).
This bovine-serum-free balanced mix of proteins and growth factors includes Follistatin and Stem Cell Factor, known to stimulate the body's own stem cell activity for active and visible rejuvenation.
I loved the way my skin felt after about a week of using this product. It was getting the hydration it needed and my skin felt smooth and silky. I think once I keep on using it, that I will notice more improvement as time goes by. This was a week challenge so that is really not enough time for me to tell you if it got rid of wrinkles or anything like that.  I think everyone can agree that repairing the skin will take time. It took years for me to get these fine lines and wrinkles and it will take more than a week to show a great improvement in that area.

But, I can say that I really liked the way that it absorbed into my skin quickly and did not leave a greasy feeling or a shiny looking face! I would also recommend this product because even after one week, I felt like my skin was getting the hydration and was looking better than it was before I started.

Normally, this product costs around $175 but I found a place on the internet that had it on sale for $140.00 for a 1.5 fluid ounce size.  According to a test done, they estimated that it would take about 10 weeks to see some really visible and good results, which is about what I figured.

Now, after I finished the one week test with Regenica(®), I moved onto the SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum. This serum is also a growth factor product but it works a little bit differently than the Regenica(®) Overnight Repair. The other difference in this one is that you use it both day and night.

But, also remember that the Regenica(®) system has a Day Cream, so you would use that during the day so you are still getting the benefit of it being put on twice a day also.

    This Serum will do this:
    • Reduced appearance of wrinkles
    • Enhanced skin texture and tone
    • Initial results occurred in 30 days with optimal results occurring in 90 days
The other thing that is quite different about the TNS Essential Serum is that it comes out from a bottle that has 2 pumps and you get a reddish serum and a white serum that have to be mixed together before putting it on. I wasn't too crazy about that because if you get less of one, then the mixture won't be right. The other thing is what if one runs out before the other?

The 2nd thing I wasn't crazy about was the smell. It smelled really funny. I did not care for the smell as it was really a gross kind of scent. I can't even describe it, but to me it was a turn off. However, it did absorb into my skin very quickly and I could feel my skin tighten up immediately. I also felt like it moisturized my face just as well as the Regenica(®) did.

    What does TNS Essential do?
APS Corrective Complex™ is a formulation of antioxidants, peptides and other innovative ingredients that in combination improve the overall appearance of skin.
  • Helps to smooth skin
  • Helps fight free radical damage
  • Minimizes the appearance of skin discoloration

  • Here is where the main difference will come in for most people, especially me, since I draw Disability and that is the price. This TNS Essential Serum sells for $270 for a 28.4 g / 1 Oz. size! That is almost double the cost of the Regenica(®) Overnight Repair!

Of course, this product has won all kinds of Awards and it has glowing reviews all over the place and I guess if you can afford it, it would probably be worth the money. Again, because this was a week only challenge, I can't attest to the anti-aging benefits since they also recommend at least 30 days to give it time to work.

My skin did feel smooth and soft just like it did with the Regenica(®) Overnight Repair. So, it really comes down to the cost and the smell, for me anyway right now because once I use them both until they are completely empty, I won't know if one worked better than the other one until then.

As you can see by the side by side pictures, they are both just about the same size. Either one of these would more than likely work great on your skin for what they both do. I can't really say anything bad about either one of them, other than the cost & the scent. I do know for me, the cost would be a big factor in which one I chose to continue using once I run out of these two products.

I furnished you guys with both links to the products so you could go and read the more technical stuff that they have on each product and you will ultimately be the judge as to which one is best for you. I will tell you that both products are available at a doctor's office only or you can order them online. You won't see them in stores.

Good Luck with your skincare regime and always put moisturizer and/or sunscreen on!
