I have a really fun book to share with you today called They Call Me Superman written by Michael Goffinet.
Marcus Evans is a new kind of super hero.  Born with superhuman strength, he is compelled to join the Army Rangers, where his abilities create an unique assassin against the war on terror.  After his stent with the Rangers, he joins forces with reclusive billionaire, Robert Sinclair, who has been his mentor and father-figure since the age of sixteen.
A whirlwind of action-packed adventures lead Marcus to the discovery of an alien spaceship that unlock secrets about his life, which will shock him to his very core, secrets that Robert has been hiding his entire life.
This was  a really easy book to read and yes, they are poking a little bit of fun at Superman and even Lois, who happens to be a reporter that he ends up liking. I wasn't so sure I was going to like it because it was a little corny in the beginning but as I read the book, I took it for what it was worth and that was a story filled with humor and fantasy about things that would make us feel amused and satisfied with our guilty pleasure of reading.
Superman or Marcus as he is called, is humble and sweet and cute. They do draw some differences between this book's Superman and the "real" one. Fathers are different, planets are different, why he was on Earth is different and why he was still here on Earth. After awhile, you will simply think of him as Marcus and that is where the real fun comes in, reading about people's reactions about some of Marcus's antics will definitely have you chuckling.
Read the book as it's intended, as a why to escape into a fantasy world where anything is possible and you will definitely love this book! Minor violence and cussing, so it shouldn't bother even the squeamish. Because there are a few cuss words, I will leave it up to you about young adults or teens reading this book.
Happy Reading!

I would definitely read books based on comic books. I am sure my 12 year old son would as well.
