JORD Watch Review

I have a really awesome watch to share with you today called the JORD Watch and if you can believe it, it's all made from wood! This one is in the Ely Series and it's made of Maple. I chose this one because I liked the light colored wood versus the darker colors. Plus I knew if I was going to wear it, that would be the color I would want. If I decide to give it as a gift, most of my family members would also pick the Maple over a darker color. I haven't really decided yet what I am going to do. I am just enjoying the watch for now and will make up my mind later.
It came in this really nice box and was well packaged as you saw from the top picture with the really nice soft pillow that is inside the watch, holding it in place with the name JORD all over it.
Main Features of the Ely Watch:
  • Hardened, Scratch-proof glass face: 26mm diameter
  • Frame / bezel: 34mm diameter
  • Band width: 21.5mm
  • Lug ends: 40mm
  • Single action locking clasp (stainless steel)
  • Premium Citizen Miyota movement with date window

Also, please be aware: Each JORD watch is designed to be splash proof but is not intended for complete submergence in water. Also note that due to the nature of the wood chosen for each unique timepiece, colors and grain pattern may vary from photos.
As you can see from the back of the watch, it has a nice engraving of the word JORD on the silver clasp. But it's also very sturdy and when it clicks shut, you will not have to worry about it coming undone and falling off.
I put the watch thru a series of shakes and tried my best to see if it would come open and fall off of my wrist. I have lost a few watches that way in the shopping mall.
Once, I was very lucky that someone turned it in and I was able to collect it but not so lucky with other jewelry I have lost while shopping. So, it passed that test with flying colors.
I also loved that they put the date on the watch as I sometimes forget, especially in the doctor's office when I start to write a check and my mind suddenly goes blank. I hate that! So, having a watch that tells me what the date is, is like getting a double bonus for me.
The Ely Watch Series comes in four wood choices, Maple, Cherry, Black and Natural Green & Maple. So, you can choose a darker wood if you like. I know everyone has different tastes and you may like something darker than I do.
There are also numerous other styles to choose from also. It was really hard to decide but ultimately I chose the one that was smaller in size because my wrists are small and big watches don't look good on me. I know women who do wear the bigger ones and can pull it off, but not me. So, if you like bigger, they have that also and they have different face shapes also.

As you can see, I have very light skin so this one really matched me. I love that it's a little smaller than the others, I like round faces, not square but if you do, you can get your JORD watch in a square face, or a medium round or a big round. I think that is what makes everyone unique, is that we don't all like the same thing. Think how boring that would be!
You can even get your watch faces in a few colors such as red or green, navy blue or white and even black. So, there are ways to set yourself apart from others even in the wood watches! They use all kinds of woods such as bamboo, maple, sandlewood, blackwood, cherry, and teak.
Also, all the watches are adjustable so you can make them fit better if you like. I like mine to be a little loose, as all my jewelry is, but I know some like it to fit perfectly. Here is how you can adjust the watch to match what you like:
Individual links can be added and removed using either a small screwdriver or push pin (depending on the model). Upon receiving your new timepiece, we currently suggest taking the watch to a local jeweler or watch repair shop to assist you with removing the necessary links to better fit your wrist.

i love the idea of a wood watch. your review makes me want to run out and buy one, but being on a fixed income of less than four hundred dollars monthly for disability, i will restrain myself. i love the fact they are so versatile. i really love the fact that they use a scratch proof glass face. thank you for a great giveaway.

I love the idea of wearing a Jord wood watch! They are elegantly made with a scratch resistant face and I like that it has a date on the watch. I like the lighter colors of the watch, and is nice to know that they do not fall off the wrist! I would love to own one of these!

I always appreciate scratch-free surfaces. I wouldn't say I'm rough on things, just a bit clumsy! I just love the Sully and the Eli Series. I think they all look gorgeous in the Cherry finish.
