Gumdrop Cases Review

I know, the picture isn't the best but I will be showing you some more here in a minute. That is the bad thing about my small camera, it picks up all the glares and such! This is a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 cover that I got to review recently from a company called Gumdrop Cases.
I was really psyched about getting this case because I have been very paranoid since I got my new Kindle HD. I was so afraid I was going to drop it and break it, so I was very excited to be offered this chance to try one out. Since I have the 8.9 size, which is the bigger version of Kindle, I didn't have a whole lot of choice in color, but that is okay. Black probably hides a lot of things that other colors probably would show up.
Main features:
  • Complete security for the Kindle Fire HD, including screen and port covers
  • Dual material construction for multiple layers of shock absorption
  • Reinforced rubber bumpers on the corners
  • Includes integrated screen cover for protection during use

This is the Drop Tech Series Ultimate Ruggedized Protection Fire Case for Kindle Fire HD, 8.9 size. Wow, that was a mouthful! It only comes in the Black color for now but hopefully, in the future they will have some other colors.
Now, I have to admit, I did not drop my Kindle Fire HD to test this theory, I am not completely crazy, but I will take their word for it. I guess if I knew I had the money to replace it should it break, I might be willing to do that, but living on a fixed income, this was a very hard earned luxury item for me, so I am not about to tempt fate. But, I do believe what they say, even though I am too chicken to test it myself.
The Drop Tech Series Kindle Fire specifically conforms to the shape of the Kindle Fire and offers multiple layers of protection. This transformer case features a unique, snap-on integrated screen for maximum protection.
It fit on perfectly and without hardly any trouble. It does have a little snap on section off to one side where you can plug the Kindle in for power. The protective screen that goes on top is perfectly see thru so you don't lose any clarity in your images.
Gumdrop also makes cases for your iPads, iPad Mini's, iPhones, MacBook, Samsung, Nexxus and Nook. I think that they have been making those more than the Kindle and are probably more known for those versus the Kindle so if you look at their track record for these other devices, you will see why everyone is so excited about them. And for those devices, they do offer more colors and options. But, I bet the Kindle Fire HD cases will catch on and get more options later on. Or at least the 8.9 version will. They do have 3 colors for the regular Kindle Fire.

i think anyone who is clumsy, ie me or anyone with kids should invest in these covers. i speak from a friend's experience. she bought each of her five adopted children tablets for christmas. by three days later, they were all broken. thank you for such a comprehensive review.

I need a case like this to keep my Kindle from getting damaged. I did not know that there was a case called the Gumdrop case. It looks very nice on this Kindle and would give me peace of mind to have one!

My Otter Box ripped the other week. I could use a new cover. I'm checking out the Gumdrop more closely.

I use my Kindle Fire every day of my life. It's probably my most treasured device but I am also afraid something will happen to it. I'd love to get a nice, secure safe like one of these to protect it.
