Blacksmith Labs Leather Holster Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

We recently got this really awesome leather holster for an iPhone from Blacksmith-Labs to try out and I wanted to share with you our impressions of this really soft leather holster.

Mike has a work phone that he is forever losing and several times we almost didn't think he would find it, but I guess he had a good luck genie looking out for him because he eventually found it, but gosh, it sure did make me sweat several times because he would have had to pay for that darn phone!

Blacksmith-Labs sent us this style, which is called Bruno in a Chestnut Brown Cowhide. It's very soft and feels absolutely awesome! This particular case is for the iPhone 5/5s/5c, which I didn't know that Mike's phone was not! I could have kicked myself for not checking but I am not into these phones very much and thought that iPhones are pretty much the same, well they are not! But, that is okay, because then I found out my daughter's husband has one, so it all worked out. His birthday is coming up so we just gave it to him early.

I just love the smell of new leather, don't you?

This holster really does feel as soft as a newborn calf and rightfully so since it's made from cowhide.

The BRUNO holster body is constructed from a single piece of premium leather to provide slimmest profile possible.

The piece of leather is hand-stitched by skillful craftsman to form the holster body for perfect fitting and maximum protection.

There are two other colors beside the Chestnut Brown to choose from if you prefer a different color. They have this style in Black and Lapis Blue.

This picture above gives you an idea of the other style of holster called the Barrett and a look at the clips in a much better view than my pictures. My camera has a tendency to make metals shine and glare so you can't see the details, but as you can see above, the details are really beautiful!

The folks at Blacksmith-Labs only use genuine leather of the highest quality, tanned to various finishes to complement whatever your style may be.  They also use ultra-durable metal alloy belt clips to finish off the design to give you an elegant but simple design.

I really appreciated that they used a beautiful black velour wrap to enclose the holster in before putting it in the box at the top of the post. It just gave it a whole new level of simple but sophisticated elegance.  It truly made me feel like I was giving something extra special as a gift.

About Blacksmith-Labs:
The Blacksmith-Labs brand was conceived by a group of industry veteran at Exati Technologies Inc., who saw the need for a much better belt clip in the smartphone holster product segment.  The brand was first launched on Kickstarter in October 2013, introducing to the world holsters with premium quality leather and metal alloy belt clips.
Our design philosophy is based on the concept of modern minimalist, focusing on the fundamentals of the design without unnecessary elements. Every detail of the design are tied to functionality, from the choice of using a button stud, to the use of a metal alloy belt clip.
Design is nothing without quality.  And this is why our material selection is meticulous, down to every bit of details including the packaging.  We are especially proud of our Horween Signature Collection, utilizing premium Horween leather in the construction of the BRUNO and BARRETT leather holsters complete with metal alloy belt clips.
