Almondina Cookies Review

I recently had the pleasure of getting to review some great tasting cookies from Almondina Cookies. If you have never tried them before, you are in for a real treat! I have been hearing about these for awhile and have seen them around on other blogger's site's but until now, I had never tried them.
Here are the flavors I got:
1.)  Choconut
2.)  Chocolate Cherry
3.)  The Original
4.)  Almonduo (with pistachios)
5.)  Sesame
6.)  Cinnaroma
7.)  Gingerspice
Almondina Cookies are:
  • Crunchy, addictive, healthful
  • Free of cholesterol, coloring and preservatives
  • Made with no added fat or salt
  • Low in calories – only 30 per slice
  • Proudly made in America
  • Kosher and Pareve (non dairy)

  • There are a few other flavors on top of these that I didn't get to try so if you don't see your favorite flavor here, just go to their website and check out all the other flavors. I can tell you that there were 2 other flavors I would have absolutely loved to have tried in addition to the ones I listed and that is the Chocolate Dipped and the Milk Chocolate Delights. I also saw the Pumpkin Spice and I bet those would have been off the chart!
The Originals were my very favorites out of this bunch. Not that any of the others weren't good, they were, but I just loved these the most.
I love these because they are very crunchy and very thin. You can eat 3 of these cookies (they are pretty long) and they have only 99 calories for 3 of them!
The Original is what made Almondina famous and it is still their number 1 best selling cookie!
It's enough to fill you up if you are hungry but without all the guilty calories. It has zero cholesterol and only 3 grams of fat and has 2 grams of protein.
Our next favorite was the Almonduo because of the Pistachios. They are Mike's favorite kind of nut and he really enjoyed these and so did I!
These also have the almonds so you get double the nuts! It does change the calories to 135 but you get to eat an extra cookie, so you are getting 4 instead of 3, or you could cut it back down to 3 cookies and that would bring the calories down.
Either way, it's a win/win for you! I also enjoyed these, too but since Mike really loves Pistachio's I let him have most of these to himself.
We both loved the Choconut! This serving size is 4 cookies and only 133 calories with 3.6 grams of fat. So, if you have a chocolate craving, instead of eating a candy bar, grab 3 or 4 of these and satisfy that craving without all the guilt!
I do have to admit though, one night I caved and wanted to be really decadent, so what did I do? Well, I love Hazelnut spreads so I took some and spread it on one of these bad boys and oh my goodness, I think I have found a whole new flavor!
You have got to try these with the Hazelnut spread or any other kind of chocolate spread, like the new Hershey's Chocolate. Both made an awesome extra treat.
As for the Gingerspice Cookies, I gave those to my best friend and neighbor because I knew she loved that flavor and they were a little on the spicy side for me. With my stomach issues, seasonings like that mess with me and I didn't want to take any chances.
She said they were totally awesome and she loved them with her coffee in the mornings. She even dunked a few in her coffee and said they were amazing! So, if you love the taste of ginger spices in your foods, then she said you will absolutely love these!
Now, here is one that surprised me. I wasn't sure I was going to like sesame seeds in my cookie, so I saved this one for last and it turned out to be a pretty good cookie! I really didn't taste the sesame seeds and it was just like eating a regular crunchy type cookie. Shocked me! Next time I won't pass judgment until I have at least tasted the product. Best thing about these are 4 cookies give you 3 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber!
I really loved these also because I am a huge fan of cinnamon. I even put cinnamon in my tomato based foods, like spaghetti and chili to give it a special zing, so I knew these would be great. These are perfect with coffee, whether you dunk them or not. They made this one to be just like the Original but with almonds, raisins, and cinnamon. It also has 3 grams of protein in 4 cookies!
Lastly, there is the Chocolate Cherry. It's just like the Choconut but with plump cherries added. This one was also one of Mike's favorites. He has always loved chocolate covered cherries so this was a no brainer for him. I was surprised to learn that this one had the most protein at 3.5 for 4 cookies and only 130 calories.

    About Almondina Cookies:
Almondina® is the inspiring success story of a man whose great loves include both music and wonderful food. For generations his family loved his grandmother Dina’s most secret cookie, which she called Petit Gateau Sec. Yuval Zaliouk, an internationally known symphony conductor and gourmet chef, always had a special place in his heart (and stomach) for this exquisite, crispy wafer with the delicate flavor of roasted almonds and the natural sweetness of plump raisins.
“Generous as she was in giving away her recipes, Grandmother Dina kept the one for Petit Gateau Sec a total secret until the end of her life. Only then did she finally reveal the secret to her daughter, Ahuda, my mother.”
“It is with her blessing and with pride that the Zaliouk family shares these delicious, healthful wonders with your family.”
