The Cost Of Love And Sanity Book Review

• Paperback: 240 pages
• Publisher: Strebor Books; Original edition (January 14, 2014)
I have a wonderful book to share with you today called The Cost of Love And Sanity written by Jaye Cherie.
Can one woman’s fear undo the rest of her life? Alex Carter’s struggle with love, loss, and faith requires her to face long-held dreams and the man she once left behind.
For Alex Carter, everything is going according to plan—she’s built a successful career and has a steady boyfriend—until life decides to throw a wrench in the mix. Suddenly, her company threatens to downsize and her boyfriend ends their relationship. It is then that she realizes that, like many women, she has neglected to pursue love and family—the goals closest to her heart—in favor of a career.
As a new year begins and Alex decides to focus on personal concerns, she runs into an old flame, Nathan Chestnut. Though she once had it bad for Nathan, she’s careful about trusting him again. Alex’s remedy is to ask him for an unexpected favor, which seems like the perfect resolution to her broken belief in happiness until she realizes that it can only grant her a piece of her dreams for a family.
As her heart and reality get in the way of her request, Alex reaches a major crossroad. Will she gather her faith and fix the situation? Or will she suffer in silence for the rest of her life?
My thoughts:
What's not to love about a love story gone wrong and then unexpectedly, that lost love shows up and you get a second chance? Don't we all wish that could really happen?
Alex had let her career in a recruitment agency take over her life and then she realizes that it wasn't exactly what she wanted after all. But, she really did love her job. You can have it all, you just need to make some priorities and rules with boundaries. Some people think it's all or nothing, but really, that isn't how you are going to succeed in business or being a wife & mother. There has to be compromises on both parties to make it all work.
If you love rooting for the underdog or have had your heart broken, found true love and realize it, then you will enjoy this book as it unfolds before your very eyes! Why? If you are anything like me (and I know it's a little crazy) but I scold my characters when they do something dumb or dangerous and then cheer for them when they win. Yeah, I know, it's just a book, but I let my imagination run wild by reading, because it's the only way to really enjoy a good, trusty book & story!
You will either love or think Alex is crazy for the solution to her problem in the book. But, in asking that favor, she gets the ultimate reward for taking a chance. After all, it could have backfired or gone horribly wrong.  Either way, this book takes you on a good journey!
Happy Reading!

Yes to all of this! "If you love rooting for the underdog or have had your heart broken, found true love and realize it..." I'd probably love the book based on this!
