Includes a new foreword and 16 new recipes.
These are all stories about one of my favorite characters, Theodosia and her tea shop! I have read another full size book on her escapades so this was a treat to get three different murder/mysteries with her in them.

The first story, Death by Darjeeling, is about a married man who is having an affair and you know how that goes. He promises all kinds of things to the mistress but never follows through. So, what is a woman to do? She poisons him, of course! Now the mystery is on to find out exactly who and what was the final straw. Theo might be a bit of a pickle herself, so she needs to be on her toes!

In the second story, Gunpowder Green, Theo is once again in the thick of a murder/mystery. This time it's at a boat race and the person who shoots the gun to start the race is killed when the gun explodes! Theo witnessed the whole thing and so is asked by the person who is implicated to help prove he is innocent. So, off Theo goes and boy, there are quite a lot of candidates for this murder!

Lastly, in Shades of Earl Grey, Theo is up against some cat burglars who love stealing valuable jewelry. The title of this story is actually the name of her dog that she goes out running with at night, Earl Grey! With the help of Earl Grey and a little know how from Theo, they are able to track down and get the burglar. Just goes to show, it pays to have a loyal dog!

You will enjoy all three of these light murder/mysteries. I like to pull back sometimes from reading the really heavy stuff and read these type of books to get a little chuckle and to take a break from all the dark material that is sometimes in the thriller/horror/science fiction that I normally read. So, I can definitely say these are a nice distraction and have enough humor in them that will absolutely fall in love with Theodosia and Earl Grey and the rest of her merry cast!

Happy Reading!

About the Author:

Laura Childs is the New York Times bestselling author of the Tea Shop Mysteries, Scrapbook Mysteries, and Cackleberry Club Mysteries. In her previous life she was CEO/Creative Director of her own marketing firm and authored several screenplays. She is married to a professor of Chinese art history, loves to travel, rides horses, enjoys fund raising for various non-profits, and has two Chinese Shar-Pei dogs.

Laura specializes in cozy mysteries that have the pace of a thriller (a thrillzy!) Her three series are:

The Tea Shop Mysteries - set in the historic district of Charleston and featuring Theodosia Browning, owner of the Indigo Tea Shop. Theodosia is a savvy entrepreneur, and pet mom to service dog Earl Grey. She's also an intelligent, focused amateur sleuth who doesn't rely on coincidences or inept police work to solve crimes. This charming series is highly atmospheric and rife with the history and mystery that is Charleston.

The Scrapbooking Mysteries - a slightly edgier series that take place in New Orleans. The main character, Carmela, owns Memory Mine scrapbooking shop in the French Quarter and is forever getting into trouble with her friend, Ava, who owns the Juju Voodoo shop. New Orleans' spooky above-ground cemeteries, jazz clubs, bayous, and Mardi Gras madness make their presence known here!

The Cackleberry Club Mysteries - set in Kindred, a fictional town in the Midwest. In a rehabbed Spur station, Suzanne, Toni, and Petra, three semi-desperate, forty-plus women have launched the Cackleberry Club. Eggs are the morning specialty here and this cozy cafe even offers a book nook and yarn shop. Business is good but murder could lead to the cafe's undoing! This series offers recipes, knitting, cake decorating, and a dash of spirituality.
