Master Lock Security Lock Review & Giveaway**Closed**

I recently got an amazing new lock to try from Master Lock for storing some of our home items in a storage area. This was the perfect product to ensure that we had these things locked and out of the way but also protected.  The official name for it is a Storage Security Lock.
Product Features:
*Portable key safe provides secure storage of keys or access cards
*Convenient push button locking mechanism in familiar alpha / numeric telephone keypad format
*Set your own combination using up to 12 letters, numbers, or both
*Large buttons for ease of use, even in low light conditions
*3-1/8" wide durable metal construction
*Large internal cavity and removable key hook prevents jamming
*Molded bumper and vinyl coated shackle prevents scratches to your door
*Protective weather cover prevents freezing and jamming

It's very easy to reset once you get it. I was even able to do it even though I thought I wouldn't be able to and if I can do it then anyone can! It comes with very good directions so you won't have a problem getting it open or setting your own combination.
Master Lock provides an exciting online tool called Master Lock Vault that allows you to store up to five combinations and/or key numbers in a secure database. You can access your combos 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I really liked this because unfortunately, I am bad to forget things, especially numbers. I don't know why but I get them all jumbled up sometimes even though I am not dyslexic, I have been known to get them backwards sometimes, thankfully, not a lot but it does happen.
If you have any problems, there is a video on the page that I gave you a link to the product that I received. I tried to copy the code several times but it wouldn't work. Not sure why not, but it's on the same page on the right side of the page. It goes into really good detail as to how to open and set your combination.

They have a lot of other locks to choose from to suit whatever situation that you need. Whether for your home or your business, personal or otherwise, they have the right size lock for you. I was very surprised to see how many different locks that they actually had! I guess I just never thought about all the types that there are and now that I know, I will know exactly where to go when the need arises.

Here are some tips to keep your home safe and secure while you’re away:
*Never indicate that you’re away from home on your answering machine message. Turn down your telephone ringer volume. Unanswered telephone calls can alert burglars to an empty home.

*Show activity in your home while you’re away. Keep a car in the driveway, and keep interior and exterior lights on a timer. Consider a randomized version to turn your lights on and off at various intervals so they don’t all come on at once or always on the same schedule).

*Eliminate easy entry points by keeping entry doors, windows and the garage door closed and locked while away. To secure sliding doors, invest in a door security bar that prevents unauthorized entry, such as those made by Master Lock.

*Suspend newspaper and other deliveries while you’re out of town. Also, visit to hold your mail service.

*If you’re worried that people who may have access to your house keys -- contractors, babysitters, former roommates -- might try to enter while you’re away, a new product called NightWatch can help secure your home. With an ingenious locking mechanism, this deadbolt prevents anyone from opening a door from the outside, even with a key. Install them on all doors except one while you’re away, to prevent unauthorized keyed entry.

*Most people hide their valuables in one of three places -- a dresser drawer, the bedroom closet, or the freezer. Thieves know this, so it’s better to invest in a proper home safe to protect jewelry, firearms, cash and other valuables.

*Given the rise in identity theft, consider installing password protection software on your home computer to deter tech-savvy thieves. For example, Master Lock Vault is a combination website-mobile application that keeps all your usernames and passwords safe and secure, free of charge. You can find out more at

*Give your lawn one last trim, or ask a neighbor to do it for you while you’re gone. An unkempt lawn can encourage thieves.

Master Lock is having a Sweepstakes going on that you will want to enter. Today is the last day so I wanted to get this post up ASAP, which is why I used their images as I hadn't had time to get mine loaded yet. I wanted to give some of you the chance to enter and to help others in the process.

Here are some details:

Bil-Jac Grain Free Soft Training Treats For Dogs Review

Charlie recently got this awesome bag of Bil-Jac Chicken & Sweet Potato flavored treats to try. You know how he is, very stubborn and doesn't like to try things, so it took me awhile to get him to warm up to them. There's nothing wrong with them, it's Charlie. He has been the most finicky dog I have ever run across! Even our Vet is mystified as to why Charlie will only eat about 3 or 4 different kinds of dog food and that is it!
But, fortunately, I was able to get him to nibble on these but it took me about 6 or so weeks. Your dog will probably eat them right up! We have given these to my daughter's dogs also and they did just that. Charlie is just one more unique dog.
Take a look at him:
He loves playing with his ball! Actually, that is one of the ways we have to do to get him to eat, I kid you not! If we don't throw the ball right pass his food, he won't eat, I am totally serious! So, every time it's time to eat, we have to say, "Let's play ball!" and he comes running and jumping and then Mike throws the ball and it goes right by his food, then Charlie runs like he is going to get the ball and he stops on the way and eats his food! Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Anyway, he finally ate the Bil-Jac Chicken & Sweet Potato Soft Treats and that is his favorite flavor other than Duck. Those are the only 2 flavors he will eat now, Sweet Potato and Duck. If it doesn't have those in it, you might as well forget it. But, these are nice and soft and just the right size for him. He is a Yorkie, full blood, one of the ones that is the right size, not the miniatures.  Oh, did you know that there are 322 different breeds of dogs? I sure didn't so that really shocked me! Check it out on Bil-Jac's site!
  • Soft training treats, right size for training but also great for small dogs
  • A delicious combination of real chicken and sweet potato
  • No grain, gluten meal or rendered fat
  • No sprayed on products
  • Resealable double-zipper pouch

  • They really are very moist because if they weren't Charlie wouldn't have eaten them. Now, he does like Duck Tenders, so he does eat crunchy food, but when it comes to stuff like this, he wants his other treats to be soft and moist.

Which is why he also won't eat dry dog food unless it's the middle of the night and we are all sleeping, he sneaks out to the kitchen and will eat the dry food I leave out. Otherwise, he eats boiled chicken, yes, I said boiled chicken. The Vet was concerned that he wouldn't eat when he was about 6 or 7 months, he just stopped eating dog food and no matter what brand we bought, he refused to eat. He started fainting and it scared us so bad that the Vet said to boil chicken and thankfully that worked. He is definitely stubborn! I have no idea why eating a small handful of dry food in the middle of the night is different, but there you go!

    These tasty little treats have:
Crude Protein, not less than .................... 24.0%
Crude Fat, not less than ........................ 10.0%
Crude Fiber, not more than ...................... 3.0%
Moisture, not more than ......................... 30.0%

And the key ingredients are: Chicken, Chicken Liver, Sweet Potato and they are Made in America!

You won't be able to get these in stores, only in pet stores. I haven't ever tried to buy them anywhere other than pet stores, so I am not sure if there is a store somewhere that does or not, but according to the Store Locator, it directs you to pet stores.

Bil-Jac has lots of other treats and dog food for your dog if you prefer to feed them Grain Free products.  I like that they have it divided up into groups, such as Small Breed, Puppy, Adult, Large, and then they take it further by dividing that into Large Breed Adult and Small Breed Adult. You can also get Senior Select or Reduced Fat and Sensitive Formula. So, whatever your dog's need is, I bet you can find it at Bil-Jac.

I was really impressed to see that they have something called a Best Friend's Club! Just click on the below banner and go check it out to see what all you can get in the monthly newsletter!
Have you heard of the Two Bowl Challenge? Check it out and see if it's something that you might like to try with your dog.  Again, just click on the banner.

And lastly, I wanted to bring awareness to this awesome program that they have called America's VetDogs. You guys know by now how I feel about our Veterans because my Dad was in the Army for 22 years. I support them any way that I can even though he is gone now, I actually have doubled my efforts. I try to donate when I can or spread the word, whichever way I can help. Just click on the red bag below to go and see how you can also participate.
This is what they do: America’s VetDogs trains and provides assistance dogs to veterans and active duty personnel with disabilities at no charge. Your purchase will make a difference to America’s military heroes.

     About Bil-Jac:

    Tea For Three Book Review

You will love this book because it has 3 books in 1 and it's written by Laura Childs! It's called Tea For Three and will have 3 separate stories that will delight you and make your afternoon go by much brighter.

Charleston tea shop owner Theodosia Browning always seems to find herself steeped in mystery and murder.

    Death by Darjeeling
Theo is serving tea for two hundred or so at the annual historic homes garden party when one guest is found dead clutching a teacup.

    Gunpowder Green
While unveiling her newest flavor of tea at a yacht race, Theo hears the crack of an antique gun and a member of Charleston’s elite falls dead.

    Shades of Earl Grey
Theo attends the engagement soiree of the season where a wedding ring—a family heirloom from Marie Antoinette’s crown—goes missing.

Includes a new foreword and 16 new recipes.
These are all stories about one of my favorite characters, Theodosia and her tea shop! I have read another full size book on her escapades so this was a treat to get three different murder/mysteries with her in them.

The first story, Death by Darjeeling, is about a married man who is having an affair and you know how that goes. He promises all kinds of things to the mistress but never follows through. So, what is a woman to do? She poisons him, of course! Now the mystery is on to find out exactly who and what was the final straw. Theo might be a bit of a pickle herself, so she needs to be on her toes!

In the second story, Gunpowder Green, Theo is once again in the thick of a murder/mystery. This time it's at a boat race and the person who shoots the gun to start the race is killed when the gun explodes! Theo witnessed the whole thing and so is asked by the person who is implicated to help prove he is innocent. So, off Theo goes and boy, there are quite a lot of candidates for this murder!

Lastly, in Shades of Earl Grey, Theo is up against some cat burglars who love stealing valuable jewelry. The title of this story is actually the name of her dog that she goes out running with at night, Earl Grey! With the help of Earl Grey and a little know how from Theo, they are able to track down and get the burglar. Just goes to show, it pays to have a loyal dog!

You will enjoy all three of these light murder/mysteries. I like to pull back sometimes from reading the really heavy stuff and read these type of books to get a little chuckle and to take a break from all the dark material that is sometimes in the thriller/horror/science fiction that I normally read. So, I can definitely say these are a nice distraction and have enough humor in them that will absolutely fall in love with Theodosia and Earl Grey and the rest of her merry cast!

    Happy Reading!

    About the Author:

Laura Childs is the New York Times bestselling author of the Tea Shop Mysteries, Scrapbook Mysteries, and Cackleberry Club Mysteries. In her previous life she was CEO/Creative Director of her own marketing firm and authored several screenplays. She is married to a professor of Chinese art history, loves to travel, rides horses, enjoys fund raising for various non-profits, and has two Chinese Shar-Pei dogs.

Laura specializes in cozy mysteries that have the pace of a thriller (a thrillzy!) Her three series are:

The Tea Shop Mysteries - set in the historic district of Charleston and featuring Theodosia Browning, owner of the Indigo Tea Shop. Theodosia is a savvy entrepreneur, and pet mom to service dog Earl Grey. She's also an intelligent, focused amateur sleuth who doesn't rely on coincidences or inept police work to solve crimes. This charming series is highly atmospheric and rife with the history and mystery that is Charleston.

The Scrapbooking Mysteries - a slightly edgier series that take place in New Orleans. The main character, Carmela, owns Memory Mine scrapbooking shop in the French Quarter and is forever getting into trouble with her friend, Ava, who owns the Juju Voodoo shop. New Orleans' spooky above-ground cemeteries, jazz clubs, bayous, and Mardi Gras madness make their presence known here!

The Cackleberry Club Mysteries - set in Kindred, a fictional town in the Midwest. In a rehabbed Spur station, Suzanne, Toni, and Petra, three semi-desperate, forty-plus women have launched the Cackleberry Club. Eggs are the morning specialty here and this cozy cafe even offers a book nook and yarn shop. Business is good but murder could lead to the cafe's undoing! This series offers recipes, knitting, cake decorating, and a dash of spirituality.

What Will You Be Wearing To Your Prom?

Gosh, can you believe it's that time of year again? Where has the time flown? I am starting to feel very old! But, it is probably the time of these girl's lives right now preparing for the prom and shopping and more than likely running their parents ragged.
So, I was thinking, what about taking a break and sitting in front of a computer and shop around for some dresses just to see what's out there. Of course, you most definitely would want to go try some on to get a general idea of what size you wear in a particular style. I know that all of my life I had to get different sizes for different styles or even brands because all clothes regardless of what they are, sometimes don't always fit the same way.
After that, if you do find that particular dress that you absolutely have to have online, then you will have a pretty good idea of what size to get and even if it's off slightly, then the alternation won't be too bad.
Check out this A-Line Princess Sweetheart Chiffon dress I found:
I found this beautiful pink dress online at JenJenHouse and they had so many to choose from, I had a hard time choosing the one that I would have loved to have if I was going to a prom, so I can imagine how these girls feel while they are shopping for the "it" dress to wear! There are so many colors to choose from also, which is actually a marvelous idea! Back when I was going to school we didn't have all those colors.
The best part about JenJenHouse is that they have shoes and clutches to match! You can get jewelry to go with your dress along with your special bra and other undergarments that you might need if you are!
I hope I gave you some great idea's on some dresses and hopeful steered you to one of my favorite places to look at prom dresses. I know it sure did bring back memories and I hope that this prom season that you make some great memories yourself.
    Happy Shopping!

    Apocalipstick Book Review

    Title:  Apocalipstick
    Author:  Lisa Acerbo Published:August 1st, 2013
    Publisher:  Eternal Press
    Word Count:  67,000
    Genre:  Horror Paranormal Romance
Content Warning:  Contains non-graphic zombie gore
    Recommended Age:  15+
I have a new YA Fantasy book to share with all of you called Apocalipstick written by Lisa Acerbo.
Life is bad after the apocalypse...the undead just made it worse. Jenna should be having the time of her life at college. Instead, her one desire is survival. She lives in a world gone insane after a virus kills most of the population. Being alive after the apocalypse is bad, but when the undead return, hungry for humans, times turn darker. For Jenna and a small group of survivors, the goal is to reach the High Point Inn.
At the inn, Jenna develops feelings for Caleb, who, while exotic and intoxicating, is not quite human. Will this new utopia last?
Wow, this was a really seriously bad story for everyone who were able to live through thru the virus that killed everyone.
I haven't read too many books about zombies and such but this book took care of that quota pretty darn good. It's full of zombies but they call them stalkers and then there are the humans and then the "others" who are almost like vampires. So, this one had a little bit of everything in it.
If you love this type of book, then this one won't disappoint you.  It's filled with a little bit of romance also so it's not all bad things. You will find respite in several of the couples who manage to find some happiness.
    Happy Reading!

    The Charm Book Review

I have another great YA Fantasy book to share with you called The Charm written by Alana Siegel.
THE CHARM is a young adult fantasy novel and book #1 in the Olivia Hart and the Gifted Program series. Imagine what high school would be like if your ex-boyfriend fired lightning when he was angry, the sporty girl in your class had enough strength to lift a flatbed truck, and you could charm your way out of trouble.
When shy, sixteen year old, Olivia Hart, witnesses the actual rainstorm her ex-boyfriend, Max Smarr, creates in Pandora high school's cafeteria, she?s convinced she?s lost her mind. Nothing will prepare her, however, for the discovery of her own special Gift.
Olivia Hart has always been satisfied living in the shadows of her peers, and so high school doesn't get any easier when her charismatic brother goes off to college and her relationship with her edgy boyfriend comes to an end. When she comes across an antique charm, she finds out that she can compel people with her mind and hiding is no longer an option. With the help of her friends in the Gifted Program and each of their special Gifts, what happens next in this young love and coming of age story will force Olivia into the spotlight, test her friendships, and cause her to question her role in a society.
If you love YA Fantasy books, then you will love this one and so will your teens! It's a great high school story about a girl who finds out she has some powers once she gets gifted a necklace that has some strange designs on it.

She thinks she is alone until she meets some of the other kids in her high school who also have different pieces of jewelry with the same design. It's a mystery as to where these pieces have come from so they form a group to understand what is happening to them.

Unfortunately, trouble is coming and they better get their act together or they won't make it. Some of the people after them also have powers and they know how to use them! It's one big adventure after another while they search for answers.

This will be an ongoing series and I for one can't wait to read the next book!

    Happy Reading!

The Pursuit of Tamsen LittleJohn Book Review

I have a really good book to share with you today called The Pursuit of Tamsen LittleJohn written by Lori Benton.
Frontier dangers cannot hold a candle to the risks one woman takes by falling in love.
In an act of brave defiance, Tamsen Littlejohn escapes the life her harsh stepfather has forced upon her. Forsaking security and an arranged marriage, she enlists frontiersman Jesse Bird to guide her to the Watauga settlement in western North Carolina. But shedding her old life doesn’t come without cost. As the two cross a vast mountain wilderness, Tamsen faces hardships that test the limits of her faith and endurance.

Convinced that Tamsen has been kidnapped, wealthy suitor Ambrose Kincaid follows after her, in company with her equally determined stepfather. With trouble in pursuit, Tamsen and Jesse find themselves thrust into the conflict of a divided community of Overmountain settlers. The State of Franklin has been declared, but many remain loyal to North Carolina. With one life left behind and chaos on the horizon, Tamsen struggles to adapt to a life for which she was never prepared. But could this challenging frontier life be what her soul has longed for, what God has been leading her toward?
As pursuit draws ever nearer, will her faith see her through the greatest danger of all—loving a man who has risked everything for her?
Wow, this was one story! Tamsen sure did have to endure a lot in her lifetime starting with that mean stepfather who beat her mother a lot.

He tries to marry her off to a rich plantation owner but Tamsen knows she doesn't want to marry him so she takes off with the help from some friends. But, boy, do they ever get into some dangerous situations!

The story is just one big mess one right after the other! I don't see how either one of them made it through this long drawn out ordeal. They find out some bombshell information along the way and keep attracting all the wrong kind of attention but they do meet a lot of friends along the way that help them out.

If you love books that are set in the 1800's then you will love this book. If you love adventure and romance all rolled up into one book, then this is going to tickle your fancy. It's got a little bit of everything in it for everyone.

It even has some Indians spread out in the story and the British fighting to retain control. What did I tell you? It's chock full of action!

    Happy Reading!

    About the Author:

Lori Benton was born and raised east of the Appalachian Mountains, surrounded by early American and family history going back to the 1600s. Her novels transport readers to the 18th century, where she brings to life the Colonial and early Federal periods of American history, creating a melting pot of characters drawn from both sides of a turbulent and shifting frontier, brought together in the bonds of God's transforming grace.

    BA*STAR Eye Shadow Review

I recently got to review some new eye makeup from BA STAR and yes, I have always used eye shadow but they sent me something new that I had never tried before and that was a tube of something called Glue. Eye Shadow & Glitter Base.
Of course, I am not sure if I would be classified in the groups that it usually is associated with, but I knew my granddaughter would love messing around with this, so I gave it to her and did she and her friends have a ball with it! They all looked like they were ready to go to Hollywood or something by the time they got done!
    Cheer, Dance or Stage Makeup
    • Gentle & Easy to Use
    • Long Lasting. Sweat Resistant
    • Adds Metallic Quality to Star Dust, Depth to Eye Shadows
    • Package Contains Applicator. Safety Sealed for Freshness.
The girls really had a blast with this product! They experimented on each other until they found the right balance and color that looked good on them and then they went on to the next girl. I think they spent a whole afternoon doing nothing but eye makeup!
They sent me this eye shadow palette that is called the Natural for those who want to create a natural smokey look. I am really too old for those other wild colors but they look really awesome on younger girls. Oh, how I envy them having all this new stuff to play with!
Natural Eye Shadow Palette with Gel Glitters.
    Create a Perfect Smoky Eye.
    • Makeup Artist Selected Colors
    • High Pigment, Long Lasting.
    • Custom Face Charts and Makeup Videos Available

There are actually two other eye shadow palettes beside the Natural and that is the Pretty N Pink Palette and the True Blue Palette. Each eye shadow palette has 5 different colors of eye shadows in it for you to play around with. You can also get them in kits if you want to really accessorize and match.
Here is what you get in the Palette Kit:
    • 1 of Raspberry Blush
    • 1 of Clear Vinyl Bag
    • 1 of Passion Pink Lip Pencil
    • 1 of Mini Brush Set
    • 1 of Black Mascara & Liner
    • 1 of Pencil Sharpener
    • 1 of Pretty N Pink Palette
I actually found a video that shows how to use the Glue/Glitter Base & the Pink Palette:
For some odd reason, they didn't have the Smokey Eye Shadow Palette in a group so that is why I chose the Pink Eye Shadow because it's not as bright and glaring, so you can see how it looks toned down and on young faces.

This makeup is really more suited to performers whether they are the cheerleaders in competition or skaters or any other kind of sporting competition. But, I can see where a young girl might want to use the Pink Palette on her Prom night or a special occasion. The darker more dramatic colors I would save for the competitions.

What BA Star says about their products:

I got this really lovely Valentine box from some awesome people at Influenster.  This particular VoxBox has some really great goodies inside and I was really tickled pink to get it! My husband was really excited about those Kisses from Hersheys!

Here's a list of my goodies along with the pictures:

These are always a welcome sight in our house! These happen to be Mike's greatest weakness and he really doesn't care what flavor that they are, just as long as they are Hershey's Kisses! These were just the plain milk chocolate but sometimes, that is all I am in the mood for. #LoveandKISSES
Now, I have tried a lot of serums that help with frizzes, but I have to admit that John Frieda's 3 Days Straight Flat Iron Spray has got to be one of the best! I have very curly hair and let me tell you that down here in Georgia, it really gets humid here and I need this awesome product just about every time I wash my hair and sometimes even when I don't! I do use a Flat Iron when I am in the mood for straight hair and this does the job perfectly! #3DaysStraightLove

These are the Kiss Looks So Natural eyelashes and I have to admit this has always puzzled me. I have tried and tried but they never go on looking right! It's not jus that either. I have always had a hard time getting eyeliner on also that looks perfect. But, I must have done something right because I never had a shortage of boyfriends! But, seriously, I am still practicing and am determined to get this right. They do look amazing and are much fuller than others I have tried and they feel so soft and natural.  #KISSlashes

Oh, now here is something that I have always done. This is a clay mask called Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask and you will love the way it makes your face feel afterwards. I haven't done this as often as I used to but when this product came, I decided I needed to get back in the routine. If you have never done a clay mask before, you really need to. It will make your face feel so clean, smooth and so very soft! They also perform a very good function and that is getting the nasty toxins out of your skin! #PowerOfPlants

This is something that Mike really needs because he has dry skin just like I do. Well, I take that back, his isn't quite as bad as mine but it's pretty close. We sprayed this on his back and I have to admit, this stuff really smelled awesome! It was like spraying after shave on his back but it was more like an oil. But, gosh, with that spray lotion on, he definitely won't need any after shave because honestly, the Vaseline Men's 24 Hour Moisture Spray Lotion is very sexy smelling! #MenSpray
I have to be honest and tell you that I love tea as you all know very well, so these were pretty darn awesome for me especially since they are Red Rose Tea! I loved the Lemon Chiffon with it's tart lemony taste but I really went overboard on the Crème Caramel tea and so will you! It was positively decadent! It's one that you will want to keep as a special pick me up treat or when you are tempted to eat something sinful but drink a cup of tea instead! #RedRoseTeas
