I have a great new thriller to share with you that is the first book in a series of three that will be written about Corey Logan and Abe Stein. The book is Inside Passage written by Burt Weissbourd.
Corey Logan was set up. She knows Nick Season's terrible secret. Coming home from prison, all Corey wants is to be with her son. To get him back, she needs to make a good impression on the psychiatrist evaluating her. But Dr. Abe Stein doesn't believe she was framed--until his well-heeled mother falls for the charming state attorney general candidate, Nick Season.
As the dogs of war are unleashed, Corey and her son run for their lives--taking her boat up the Pacific Northwest's remote Inside Passage. Inside Passage is the first in Weissbourd's haunting, heart-stirring Corey Logan trilogy. My Thoughts:
This story is full of action and it's really graphic in some ways and then in other ways it lets you use your imagination. You definitely won't be bored reading this book!
Nick Season and his right hand man, Lester are really in need of serious psyhco help, especially Nick. He imagines things that aren't there and then gets into panic attacks and then blows up. And it's really small dumb things that will set him off. Not sure how anybody would even want to work with a man like that, but he is good at acting and can fool people into thinking he's Mr. Nice Guy and then the minute they leave, Boom! He has something awful to say about them.
Now, Lester just likes to hurt people. Nothing mentally wrong there, not like Nick, but he does love his job. He is a no nonsense man who definitely does not like to crossed or bothered with minor details but Nick sends him out anyway. He really doesn't like Corey at all and wants her to go away quickly.
Corey just wants to be left alone. She got framed for something she didn't do and she served the time without ratting anyone out and she knows she can never tell anyone what she knows and she has made this clear to both Lester & Nick and for the life of me, I just don't get why they ignore what she is saying. Well, in Nick's case, he is plum crazy so he thinks the worst regardless.
I don't know what I would do in this situation because she has no proof and the one who did is dead and Nick is the one who killed him, too. Plus, Nick is an up and coming State Attorney General with a lot of powerful people, so what would you do? That's a pretty daunting and I have to admit, Corey has more guts than I probably would have had.
It's a great story but it's also the beginning. There will be 2 more books after this one with both Corey & Abe in them, so I wanted you to be aware that this is a trilogy. If the next 2 books are anything like this one, they will be doozies!!
Burt Weissbourd is a novelist, screenwriter and producer of feature films. He was born in 1949 and graduated cum laude from Yale University, with honors in psychology.
