Carmex Limited Edition Moisture Plus Lip Balms Review

I got these wonderful Carmex Limited Edition Moisture Plus Lip Balms back around the end of last year and then I got sick so I didn't get to post them right away as I was suppose to, but I still wanted to share them with you guys and to let you know how awesome they are! If you have really dry lips like I do, these will definitely come in handy. I keep one with me all the time.

Of course, I have several other kinds of Carmex products because I really do love them and have been using them for years and I get so excited every time they introduce something new. All four of these lip balms are clear, there is no color in them, but the outside cases are what makes them so cute to carry around.

The colors are truly awesome and my daughter immediately confiscated the purple one! That is her favorite color so as soon as she saw it, she grabbed it and out the door she went! So, I was left with three of them, but I knew they were all the same color on the inside, so no big deal. I wonder if she thought she was getting some kind of purple tint? Who knows with her!

They come packaged like this and this was actually my favorite color scheme as just about everything I own is black and white. This fit nicely into one of my black crossbody handbag's over the holidays and I got a lot of compliments on how cute and stylish it looked. This is not grandma's old timey chapstick anymore!

Here is what they look like once you open them up. They go on really smooth and easy and make your lips super soft and glossy looking. This was actually inspired by Audrey Hepburn.

Here is what the description said about the design on this one:

Name: Audrey
Fashion Icon: Coco Chanel
Words to live by: "Less is more."
Her style in one word: Classic
Go-to outfit: Little black dress
Statement shoes: Black slingbacks

Uses:
  • helps prevent sunburn
  • if used as directed with other sun protection measures (see Directions), decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun (it does have SPF 15 in it)
  • make sure that you put on at least 15 minutes before you go out and apply liberally.
  • also, this will last about 80 minutes in the water, plenty of time to swim and then come back and re-apply. (they actually say in the directions to reapply every 2 hours if outside)
  • prevents dryness
  • moisturizes the lips
The ingredient that is in Carmex products that help it work so well is called Allantoin and here is what that does:

Acting as both a protective ingredient and a softener, allantoin soothes irritations plus helps reduce dryness and flaking. Allantoin also decreases itching by helping dead skin cells slough off, leaving new skin feeling soft and smooth.

And if you really and truly don't like their products, well, all you have to do is send it back to them with your receipt and you will be refunded. So, there really is no risk to you, so try it and you will see that it really does help!

Then there is the one called Whimiscal:

Name: Skye
Fashion Icon:  Joni Mitchell
Words to live by: "Reduce, reuse, recycle."
Her style in one word: Carefree
Go-to outfit: Patterned maxi dress
Statement shoes: Flat leather sandals

And this is the one my daughter confiscated called Fab:

Name: Edie
Fashion Icon: Twiggy
Words to live by: "It’s all groovy."
Her style in one word: Mod
Go-to outfit: Mini-dress
Statement shoes: Go-go boots

Carmex makes some other products also such as their famous hand cream, which I am sure you already know about that. I have tried it also and wow, does it make your hands feel so soft! If you have rough, dry hands, I would recommend trying it and see if it helps.

About Carmex:
Carmex lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20 years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.
Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin.
Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred's grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.
Connect with Carmex;

Mailing  Address:
Carma Laboratories, Inc.
5801 West Airways Avenue
Franklin, Wisconsin 53132
Phone: 414-421-7707

And now for the giveaway. I saved one of them to give away and one other product so that there will be 2 different Carmex products. The Moisture Plus that you will win is this one called Adventurous:

Name: Peggy
Fashion Icon: Debbie Harry
Words to live by: "You only live once."
Her style in one word: Daring
Go-to outfit: Leather pants and a backstage pass
Statement shoes: Platform sandal

And then the other product I will be giving away with this is this Lip Conditioner in Orange Flavor. It really is pretty darn good too!

Would like the healing cream, especially the unscented. Have lots of allergies, and sometime the scents of lotions and creams bother me.
