I have a really awesome new and exciting pasta company (at least to me) to share with you today called The Pasta Shoppe! They have some of the most unique and fun pasta that I have ever seen and I think you will agree that it just might be the thing to get your family in the mood for more pasta! I have to tell you that they were more than generous with their products and I was simply blown away by how much was sent for us to try.
Included in the package:
*Georgia Bulldog Pasta
*Music Pasta
*Halloween Pasta
*Zoo Animal Pasta
*Cheesy Pasta (cheese & pasta)
*Chicken Noodle Soup
*Spinach Basil Garlic Angel Hair
*Vanilla Bean Divine Meringues (dessert)
I'll start with the Chicken Noodle Soup because it hasn't been that long since I made this and boy, was it delicious! All I did was add the chicken and some diced onions and a few carrots. They have included a seasoning packet with each bag of their soups. Each bag will make 10 cups and the really awesome part is that you can make it in 15 minutes!
My husband is not a big soup eater but he made an exception for this one! We heated up yeast rolls with this for dinner and it makes a really fulfilling meal without a lot of fuss. Of course, we ate this for almost a week but that was okay, it was that good!
Their Cheesy Pasta is not like any other that you have seen! The pasta itself cooks up big and fluffy and it may not look like a lot inside the container but when it's cooked, well, be prepared to eat some truly amazing macaroni & cheese but with pasta. I made this one night with some chicken & Mike is a huge macaroni & cheese fan, so it has to be good or he won't eat it. He said he was really surprised that this beat out one of his top choices that he eats. Great job Pasta Shoppe!
Just like any other box you get in the store, just add butter and milk and the packet that comes with the bag of pasta! The bag is 12 oz. and will make between 4 to 6 servings depending on how big you serve. Also, there is a small fun sized coloring book on the inside to help keep the kids occupied while you are cooking.
Now, this is the one that we thought was really the attention getter. They have over 60 Collegiate Pasta's to from and because we are from Georgia, they had sent me the Bulldogs. These are salad pastas that come with a vinaigrette seasoning mix that you can make however you wish. I chose to make a sort of three bean salad but with the pasta added! I also added of course the kidney beans & pinto beans along with onions, olive oil & balsamic vinegar.
With all of those beans, this made a lot more than I had expected. I also accidently poured a little bit to much vinegar so I had to add more beans to soak up the juice. We ate on this Bean Salad for almost 2 weeks! Of course, there is just the two of us here at home, so if you have more people in your family, it probably would have gone quicker.
Now, for the Spinach Basil Garlic Angel Hair I had made Chicken with Capers one night and instead of using our plain spaghetti noodles to put the chicken on top of, we substituted this pasta and it came out double awesome! These are like the little bird nest pasta that you see in the grocery store.
You just place however many nests that you think you might need into the pot and let it simmer. Each nest is about 100 calories and they have 2 other flavors beside this one.
This is the Chicken & Capers with Artichokes that I put on top of the Spinach Basil Garlic Angel Hair pasta. It was my best meal of the whole experience even though the others were truly amazing, we both had to admit that this was the icing on the cake!
Now, we come to the Halloween Pasta and for this one I decided to do something that I didn't with the others. I made something that I knew Mike wouldn't eat but I had been wanting it for awhile so I used this pasta for it since I knew he didn't care for Halloween shaped pasta. It tastes the same and there were no seasonings with this one so that is another reason why I chose this one to make my Tuna Salad.
I think I added too much stuff because this made a whopper of a batch! I ended up having to give my neighbor and friend some since I knew Mike wouldn't stuff Tuna! I just added boiled eggs, dill pickles, onions, mayo and salt & pepper. It really does make an awesome salad. I use the same recipe for Tuna Salad sandwiches and just leave off the pasta. Makes a heck of a sandwich!
Now, the last two pasta's I haven't made yet because we simply are going to have to take a break. That was a lot of pasta to eat over this past month or so and the last two that are left, Zoo Animal and Music are just like the Halloween, no seasonings or flavors, you just make them however you wish.
They have tons of other shapes to choose from and you really need to see them all to believe it! They will have one for Thanksgiving and they have several for Christmas and each and every holiday that we celebrate! There is Valentine's pasta, Birthday pasta, baseball, basketball, dancing, gymnastic, cheerleading pasta and on and on! I am not kidding, you really need to visit them to truly understand how many there are!

Our business is family run and home based in Nashville, Tennessee, but our pasta adventure began in 1992 during our honeymoon to Italy. We fell in love with pasta and the Italian lifestyle, and knew someday we wanted to recreate a piece of Italy back home.
In 1994, we traveled back to Italy to understand exactly what it took to make the highest-quality and best-tasting pasta around. Then we added the fun part: hand-crafted bronze dies to create more than 250 different pasta shapes! From cat paws to Christmas trees to college logos, we've got a fun pasta shape for everyone.
