Redmond Clay Products Review & Giveaway**Closed**

I thought I would start this review with a video that explains what Redmond Clay does internally because on this one I had to get help from one of my best friends. I have been sick a lot lately this past month or so and really did not want to take any chances of taking something that might make things worse. I have alot of problems with IBS with constipation and it's reared it's ugly head lately so I have had to watch what I eat and drink lots more fluids than normal. I was afraid that the clay might make the constipation worse. Of course, I am paranoid so it may not have done a thing but I decided to play it safe on this one.

From the questions section on Redmond Clay, I learned from another person asking the question, does this product sometimes cause constipation and they recommended drinking lots of water during the day while using this product to keep this from happening. Since I am prone to constipation no matter what I do and have to take RX medication to go, I thought it would be safer for me to not personally review this.

If you have constipation issues, please check with your doctor first. I would hate to tell anyone something that would hurt you. I know how it feels to have this problem and want you to be fully informed. Now, this is only if this product is taken internally. The top video gives you all the information that you need.

Otherwise, my friend that used this for a few weeks internally, loved the product and noticed no bad side effects. She is a very healthy person and takes this kind of stuff all the time and I knew she would be able to tell me how it really worked. She had no problems with constipation but she did say that she upped her water intake slightly to make sure she didn't and had no problems.

Now, I did use it externally and had no problems. You are going to love what it does externally and if you need something for the things that it is used for in that respect, I would suggest getting this product just for that.

To use as a poultice:

Hydrated Redmond Clay can be applied externally as a poultice on cuts, bruises, insect bites, bee stings, boils, rashes, achy joints, acne, and burns. To apply a clay poultice, place a thick layer (¼ to 1 inch thick) over the affected area. Redmond Clay has tremendous drawing power, so it should be washed off before it dries completely– especially when used on burns or sensitive areas such as the face. If the area can be wrapped with cheese cloth or plastic wrap, the clay can be left on overnight without drying out.

By the way, I am just now starting to recover from Poison Ivy and did use some of the clay paste on that and it really did seem to help with the itching. Because I am very allergic to Poison Ivy, I still had to take shots but this clay helped with the itching very nicely. I didn't see the part about achy joints until I was doing my post, so I will have to try that. I have RA and Fibromyalgia also and have gone thru every known RA treatment and none have worked. So, I am now off all medications for RA and it's really taking a toll on me. I get exhausted so easy now and have to pace myself. But, if used for the burns, bites, rashes, etc. I think it works miracles!

Also, if you want more ideas on how this can help with some of your problems, make sure to read the comments underneath all the video's on their site. Some comments are very helpful and the ones back to them from Redmond really offer some great advice.

For Bath:

To enjoy a full-body detox, add 1 to 2 cups of Redmond Clay to a tub of hot water and soak for 20-30 minutes. The remaining clay sediment can be safely washed down the drain. We have never seen it cause problems with the plumbing.

Foot Bath:

Many people find that a foot bath with Redmond Clay also is a relaxing way to draw toxins out of the body. For a foot bath, add about 3 tablespoons of Redmond Clay to a pot of water that is as warm as you can stand. Soak your feet for about 30 minutes.

Now, on the Facial Mud, I did use this one quite a lot as I love cleaning my face and feeling that awesome smooth, tight feeling that I get from using any type of facial masque like products.

Their Facial Mud helps clarify your skin, remove excess oil, shrink pores, draw out toxins, tone skin, remove impurities, and deep clean your skin. Redmond Clay Facial Mud is safe for all skin types. I have large pores and this was really the main reason I used this product for and am very happy with the results.

To me, the large pores made putting on makeup a nightmare because no matter what kind I got, like the ones that say it won't sink into pores, well, it still does. So, I had to take a different approach and find something that would shrink them, not hide them. I also love the smooth feeling that comes with the added benefit.

The Facial Mud comes in a 4 ounce tube that is ready to use. So, no, you don't have to mix anything like you do with the Clay Powder. Just squeeze the tube and apply to face. If you have sensitive skin or dry skin (like I do) only leave on for 10 minutes but if not, you can leave on from 15 to 30 minutes, but take it off before it gets completely dry. You may or may not notice some reddening but it's natural because of the drawing power that the clay has.

Oh, they do have a First Aid Clay that is in the same kind of tube for your cuts, burns, itches, bee stings, poison ivy, etc. that you won't have to mix like the clay powder if you prefer to use that instead. It would save some time to have this quick remedy available and I am thinking this might be the way I will go since I can't take it internally but sure do want something to help with the external problems.

What is Redmond Clay:
Redmond Clay is a completely natural bentonite clay, extracted from the earth and brought to you in its pure, natural state. Redmond Clay is available as a fine powder, pre-hydrated gel, or in easy-to-swallow capsules.
Redmond Clay™ remains as pure today as it was when the Fremont Indians discovered its uses long ago. As our world returns to more natural lifestyles, more and more people keep Redmond Clay in their medicine cabinets, first aid kits, and purses. Discover for yourself the healing benefits of Redmond Clay.
How it Works:
At a molecular level, Redmond has a negative electrical charge, attracting positively charged toxins. The formation of bentonite resembles tiny business card shapes, with negatively charged wide surfaces and positively charged edges, providing a surprisingly high surface area and powerful drawing effect. As most toxins are positively charged, clay naturally rids the body of toxins as it pulls and holds the toxins into its core.
Unfortunately, there is so much information about Redmond Clay that I can't possibly give you all the answers or information, so please go by and watch some of the video's, read the articles and/or read the comments under each product. A lot of your questions will be asked by others and then Redmond Clay answers them. I found this to be the most helpful.

I am really excited about the Redmond Clay as far as externally goes and like I said earlier, my friend loved it internally and as long as you don't have any health issues you might benefit from taking it internally. But please, even Redmond Clay advises checking with your doctor if you are in doubt about anything.

The Truth About Cats and Dogs

The Truth About Cats and Dogs

There is a widely held belief that people can be reduced to two types; cat people and dog people. The domestic nature of cats and dogs mean that their interactions with humans are of a unique variety.

Although getting the right dry dog food for your dog’s diet or making sure your cat gets enough exercise will obviously affect an animal’s overall fitness and capabilities, many of their characteristics are in-built.

For many dog or cat loyalists the choice is clear but there are those out there whose minds are not quite made up. If this sounds like you, here’s a quick comparison to see how cats and dogs measure up in the battle of the fur coats.

Vision - Cats have incredible vision. Both animals are predators which mean that they are able to sense movement with tremendous perception. The difference lies in cats ability to see in lower light; in near darkness these skilled animals are able to detect the twitch of a whisker or the slightest movement.

Smell - While cats dominate the vision category, dogs are champion sniffers. Canines have long been employed for their sophisticated sense of smell by police departments the world over and for good reason, the canine sense of smell is nothing short of incredible. With faces that are almost entirely nose, dogs can sniff out anything at a rate that is roughly four times better than cats.

Speed - Both animals are remarkably spry. Cats are natural sprinters as they’re trained to hunt but dogs can go the distance. While cats might be able to outrun dogs for the length of a backyard, dogs will excel in the stamina stakes.
Intelligence - Cat lovers will feverishly maintain that their pets are intellectually dominant. Cats are indeed smart in that they are able to get food and attention with little more than a purr, but dogs take well to training in a way that cats simply don’t. Many dogs know more than 100 words and can run complex agility courses which means they trump cats in this category as well.
So it seems dogs and cats continue to compete pretty much neck and neck. Whether you are a current pet owner or a prospective one, the choice between cats and dogs is personal to say the least. The most important thing about pet ownership isn’t intelligence or speed though, it is the connection you have with your animal and this should be the ultimate deciding factor.

Smile Sciences Teeth Whitening Pen Review

I have a really great new way to help you stay ahead of the stains that appear on your teeth! It's called Smile Sciences Teeth Whitening Pen and it is an RX strength grade so you will see professional results! You can actually get several shades whiter in just a week! Of course, you have to use this product twice a day to get that result, so keep that in mind.

I am all for quick and easy and so I loved this concept. It is easy to apply and there is no messy trays or having to fill something and put on your teeth and then have to take out and wash when you are over. Can you tell I have done some of the other more complicated ones? I have even gone the dentist way and tried theirs so I know the difference and the cost associated with getting your teeth whiter.

Having white and pretty teeth has always been one of my goals since I do drink Sweet Tea (who in the south doesn't drink tea, whether sweet or unsweet)? At first I used a straw until I realized that all that puckering makes lines around your mouth, so I knew it would be cheaper to clean my teeth than to have some type of procedure done to get rid of the lines, so I have been diligent in choosing teeth whiteners that do the job with as little fuss as possible.

It's a very slim pen so it can fit anywhere, in your handbag, clutch or even a pocket if need be. This product has been designed by dentists so I know it's a good quality, less expensive and very easy to use.  I love products that take all the hassle away, especially in this type of product when I am constantly losing track of time, this keeps me from having to do a lot of prep time and clean up time.

You will wear the product for approximately 20 minutes a day and it's safe to use for up to 10 days in a row. Which is good because the pen has about 14 days worth of product in it. You will definitely see an improvement by the time the pen is empty. Each pen is $78 and that is actually pretty good considering you are getting the RX strength teeth whitening product. Also, there is an expiration date on each box, so you will always know when your pen has expired.

It's very easy to use. Just take the cap off and you will see that it has a small brush on one end. You will twist the other end just a touch and the gel will come out on the brush. Carefully, brush your teeth, just like when you are brushing your teeth with toothpaste and coat the teeth or all of them that need whitening. I have a few caps so it does help with some staining but won't change the true color of the caps or crowns. I believe it is the same for veneers. Then you just leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse just like you would if you had mouthwash and you are done! Do this twice a day.

Ingredients: 12% Hydrogen Peroxide, Propylene Glycol, Kosher Glycerine, Peppermint essential oil, Triethanolamine, deionized water, Xylitol

They do have other products available that offer even better results. There is one that says it can change your shade up to 10 times whiter in a month! Some of the products come with a LED light to help speed up the process. I guess it is all in what you need to accomplish.  You can purchase these products separately or in kits, depending on what you need. I do have a LED light and do use it from time to time, so it's very safe.

This is the one from Smile Sciences. Mine isn't but they should work the same. What they do is help the process work faster. So, it's really up to you and it's not necessary to have one unless you are pushed for time. You will hold it to the teeth for the time you have the gel on and that is pretty much all there is to it.

Since I am just maintaining, I am happy with the quick pens because they do exactly what I need. If you have never used any kind of teeth whitening, it might prove beneficial to you to start out more aggressive and then switch to maintenance like I am doing.

One of the neat things that Smile Sciences does is make a Day and Night Pen so that you are getting a little change with the Night Pen. That one you can put on and go to sleep and then rinse off the next morning. I have done it this way also, but not with a pen, but with a tray. It was a little weird at first but I got used to it. This won't require a tray, so I don't think you will notice anything while sleeping. And you can also purchase a kit that has the LED light with it too!

Ingredients: Carbamide peroxide, Hydrogen peroxide, potassium nitrate, water, peppermint oil flavor, Glycerin carbomer , sodium hydroxide, disodium EDTA

Here is a video that touches on several products, including the Kit that has trays:

How To Choose A Sweetheart Book Review

I have a rather unusual book to share with you called How To Choose A Sweetheart written by Nigel Bird. It starts with a man in love with one woman but she is in love with another man. They are still friends and he moves on to try and meet a new woman, all the while trying to stay friends with the old girlfriend and her new boyfriend!

Synopsis:
“She came into the bookshop. That was it. That was the beginning.”

This isn’t the first romantic story to feature a balcony, nor is it likely to be the last. Even so, what takes place in ‘How To Choose A Sweetheart’ is a modern, fresh take on an old-fashioned tale.

Max is a bookseller. Since his relationship with Jazz ended, he’s struggling to find purpose in life. That all changes when a beautiful woman, Cath, walks into his shop and pins up an advert asking for a piano teacher for her daughter, Alice.

It’s almost perfect. Max takes down the details and gets in touch immediately. Within a short space of time he manages to secure the position as Alice’s piano teacher and establish that Cath’s a single mother.

What could be better?

Well, he might be able to play the piano for a start.

Or his newly acquired piano teacher might not be an old, alcoholic wreck.

Or he might be completely over his ex-girlfriend.

And he might not be forced into a position where he needs to come up with a composition of his own to woo the new lady in his life.
It’s a tangled web we weave and Max seems to be sticking to the threads like an insect in a web.

A topsy-turvy romantic comedy that will warm your cockles and split your sides.
This has a lot of humor in it along with some great romantic tones here and there. You will love this lighthearted attempt at redemption and the search for love.

I found the book to be very entertaining and cheering Max on, especially when he met Catherine and all the antics he went thru to get her attention. Yes, he told some untruths, but not to be mean, but to get to know her and her child.

He also meets some other people, namely Mr. Evans, who teaches piano. He tries so hard to learn to play so he can surprise Cath and teach her child how to play but Mr. Evans finally has to tell him he will never learn to play, he just isn't piano material.

You will enjoy the uncomplicated story and the really great characters in this book. It's a keeper.

Happy Reading!

Purex UltraPacks Laundry Detergent Review & Giveaway**Closed**

I have a new product from Purex to share with you called UltraPacks Laundry Detergent. I don't know about you, but I like having easy ways to do my laundry. And this new product does just that!

I have always loved the idea of the packs and I know that some controversy has followed these packs but honestly, I don't get it. If they are kept up high enough or in cabinets that are high away from probing little hands, it can be one of the best things ever! I am glad to see that hopefully some of this has been worked out because I would have hated to give up something that makes my life easier.

You can get these awesome packs in three different scents. I go the Plus Oxi to try but they also have Mountain Breeze and Free & Clear. They dissolve quickly, even in cold water, releasing the concentrated liquid laundry detergent. I just throw one into the washing machine and walk away! I love the whole idea! With the Oxi power, you will get whiter and cleaner clothes. And the best part is that they work in both kinds of machines, top wash and front loaders.

Size & Loads:

10.8 fl oz (18 loads) | 15.6 fl oz (26 loads) | 21.6 fl oz (36 loads) | 32.4 fl oz (54 loads) | 36.6 fl oz (61 loads)

To store and use the Purex UltaPacks:

For a healthy and safe laundry routine, remember to store all laundry products safely. Keep all laundry products out of the reach of children and pets. Also, please remember to keep products in their original container with the original label intact and immediately put them away in a secure location after use. Last, please reclose the bag.

The difference between UltraPacks plus Oxi and regular UltraPacks:

Purex UltraPacks plus Oxi have even more stain-fighting power than regular Purex UltraPacks because they combine the Purex performance of Purex detergent with the stain-fighting power of Oxi.

A little history on Purex:
The Purex brand was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1922 and, for 90 years, has been known as the laundry brand that consumers trust to provide the most value for the money. Over the years, the company has grown from a single product—liquid chlorine bleach sold in amber pint jars—to the almost two dozen laundry products sold under the Purex brand name today.
Moreover, along the way, Purex has been a leader in sustainability and developing eco-friendly products.

Gorton's Wicked Good Seafood Review & Giveaway**Closed**

I have some awesome Gorton Seafood products to share with you today. We got to review some really awesome products from Gorton's and I just had to share them with you.

Here is what we reviewed:

1.)  Fish Sandwich Fillets (we got 2 bags of these)
2.)  Beer Battered Fish Fillets
3.)  Crispy Battered Fish
4.)  Skillet Crisp Tilapia
5.)  Gorton's Ship Wheel Key Chain'
6.)  Gorton's Fisherman USB
7.)  Assortment of Recipes and Post Cards

We really ended up loving these the best. I was really amazed at how awesome they tasted! We just baked them in the oven and then I toasted some really nice home made rolls we got at the local bakery with a touch of butter on the rolls and when they were nice and crunchy, we added the Fish Sandwich Fillets to the bread along with Tartar Sauce and that was it! I am not into a lot of stuff added to my sandwich. I loved the crunchy taste of the bread and the fish all combined together. I thought it was just as good as eating out! We paired our sandwich with tater tots.

Our next favorite was the Crispy Fish Fillets. They were totally awesome and very crispy, which is how I like my fish to be if I am eating it that way. We always bake all of our Gorton products and I guess you could pan fry them or other frying techniques, but I like baking best. That way I am hopefully saving on some of the fat and calories.

I think that these make an awesome quick meal when you really don't have a whole lot of time to get dinner ready and done before it's time to go somewhere or just relaxing for the evening. I like that I can whip something up pretty quick for my family but at the same time, still have that home cooked feel to it by adding great veggies and other options to round out a great dinner. We had hash brown potatoes and golden sweet corn with butter.

I don't know if you have ever eaten Tilapia fish before but it is one of the best fish out there that does not smell or taste fishy. So, if you love fish but not the smell or taste of it, then this is the fish for you. I have eaten lots of different ways, but sometimes just plain and simple is good enough.

We picked out the Garlic & Herb flavor for our Skillet Crisp Tilapia because those are our favorite spices. Now, this is one fish that you can use the skillet instead of the oven. It comes out beautifully! That's the secret that Gorton's Seafood has, no matter what you do with their fish, it comes out perfect every time. I haven't yet had a bad experience using their seafood for any of my meals.

We paired the Tilapia with rice with just butter and pinto beans with onions. Simple but perfect and the only side that took the longest to cook was my Basmati rice!

The Beer Battered Fish Fillets have a really nice taste to them and I baked them a tad longer so that I could get a crisper fish. It's a personal choice, so you don't have to do that if you don't want to. I don't know for sure why Beer works so good as a batter but it sure does add that extra little punch to fish! If you haven't had Gorton's Beer Battered Fish Fillets, you really need to get a bag of them. They just might become your favorite way to eat fish!

As you can see, I love Tater Tots, too! Mike did bake up some Crinkle Fries with his. He likes the Tater Tots but not every time we eat fish. You can really make anything you want with these fish selections, they are very versatile and go with just about anything. I took the approach of these being my go to meals when either I didn't feel good and didn't want to cook or had a time problem. And for me, what's the point of spending extra time making side dishes if the whole idea was to speed up the process, so that is why Tater Tots or the Crinkle Fries are most often used with the fish dinners.

Now, here are the key chain and the USB that was included in my little package.

I thought it was pretty darn neat how they did the Fisherman USB, don't you?

And the Gorton's wheel key chain is really nice and these pictures don't do it justice. It is very nice and heavy and has an awesome shine to it.

Lastly, we got a selection of Post Cards along with a few recipe cards to use for some idea's on what to use Gorton's products in my meals.

Here is why Gorton's is good for you:

Amy Adele Thank You Cards Review

I had the pleasure not long ago to get some really awesome Thank You cards made up by Amy Adele in their Flat Cards Stationary department.

I tried to get as creative as I could but I really don't have much of a crafty side to me so I went with the obvious of my blog being Mary's Cup of Tea and the teacups and here is what I found on Amy Adele's site that I thought matched my blog up pretty well.

These are called the Daisy Teapot Stationary and I thought it summed up my blog pretty well. The description of this particular card is:
A bright pink teapot and cup are painted with green, yellow, blue and purple daisies and dots on this folded note stationery card.

It's not exactly lavender or purple but I did use purple for the letters so I think it balanced out very well. I love them! I am going to have to be very stingy with them as I don't have many but I have a feeling I will be ordering some more after the holidays are over!

Details of the card:

artist:  Amy Adele
style:   folded note card
size:     5" x 3.5" (W x H)
paper type:  medium
finish:  matte (non-glossy)
recycled:  100% post consumer paper
printing method:  high chroma digital
item code:  sf593
envelopes:  included (BLANK)

You can order them in just about any quantity that you want or need. And you can get personalized envelopes if you want them instead of the plain ones that I got. They also can make up the address label, which I thought would be super cute to go on the outside.  They also have invitations that you can make up with the same design!

They sent my cards in this really cute white see thru bag.

Here's a little bit closer up picture although my camera doesn't do the card any justice. For instance, it is a lot whiter than what this shows. And the letters are really a lot more purple and they make this picture work! I guess one of these days I am going to have to break down and get another one.

Gosh, there are so many different designs, types of fonts, colors of fonts and other options to choose from that it took me a good while to decide what to get. Whatever you have in mind, I bet you will find something similar to what you want right there at Amy Adele's. They have so many different kinds of cards, stationary, envelopes, labels, invitations, calling cards, bag tags and many more to choose from. You can also sort them by gender, boy or girl or even grown ups.

You will also find seasonal items there too! With the holidays fast approaching, if this is something that you would like to do, I wouldn't wait too much longer as they get really busy and I would hate for you to miss out on some awesome cards this holiday. You can even do Halloween, which I know some people are into and others aren't.

Check out the different sales going on at Amy Adele:

About Amy Adele:
Since I was a child, I have been hand-drawing birthday and Christmas cards and never took my art very seriously. However, in 2004 our friends and family encouraged me to turn my doodles into a business of selling cards.
I remember lying in bed one night laughing with my husband about the idea. Would people really want to buy my artwork? I haven’t studied art and I don’t have an art degree. I was just a mom to two sweet girls who loved to draw.
After much prayer my husband and I believed God wanted us to pursue this project. We spent the following 18 months planning and organizing this online business and on November 15, 2005, amyadele.com was launched.
In less than a month my husband and I were up late every night folding cards and packaging orders. We quickly realized we could not run this business by ourselves. We had to hire help fast! Since that time, we have been fortunate that each individual that has joined our team is a dedicated and tireless professional that respects and cares about our customers.
