This is the second book in the Godland Series called Inherited Danger written by Brian Rathbone.
Leaving her homeland behind, Catrin Volker goes in search of knowledge and peace, unaware that she will face the greatest evil her world has ever known. The second book in the Godland Series is just as good as the first one, Call of the Herald, which I reviewed last week and you can read about the author on that post, so I included the link back to the first review.
I was going to review all three of them at the same time, but the books came late and I didn't have time to read them all, so I broke them up into three separate reviews and will finish the series next week with the third book.
This is a really great Young Adult Fantasy story that is set in a world that is both futuristic but also seems like it's back in the Old Ages. I couldn't decide when this time took place so I guess that is part of the mystic of the story.
Catrin is still struggling with being The Herald, as everyone is calling her, but she is embracing it more in this second book and undergoes a transformation at a religious compound and is safe for the moment.
She finally realizes her full potential in this book and she meets even more amazing people in this journey. She beholds wonder and delight but also a sad tragedy forces her from this safety zone faster than she thought she would have to leave.
She does accomplish one of her goals but then learns another disaster awaits for her to solve.
Join her in this journey as she tries to do what is right for everyone, including herself.
