Reed & Barton Wood Jewelry Box Review

I was very lucky recently to get a really awesome Women's Jewelry Box from Reed & Barton called Corinthian. My picture above really doesn't do it justice but it is truly one of the most beautiful boxes I have ever seen!

Here are some details:

  • Mahogany satin finish
  • Octagonal shape
  • Two compartmentalized drawers / Brass finished knobs and side handles
  • Beveled fluted corners
  • Dior-red nylon velvet lining
  • Engravable nameplate is available.
  • Vertical lines reminiscent of Greek columns
  • 17 1/8 x 9 1/2 x 7 1/8" H

  • As you can see, I had my initials engraved on the nameplate that sits on the top of the box.

I didn't know it was going to be so big when I first looked at it online on their website. I imagined something a little bit smaller that I could grab and go, such as on overnight or weekend trips but, that won't be happening with this box! Well, let me clarify, it can go, it just won't be a box that you can hide very well. Everyone will be drawn to it and want to see it because it's so elegant. But, that's okay, because this turned out to be so beautiful, it has become an added blessing.

Below is the top part of the jewelry box when you first open it. As you can see, there is plenty of room to store rings in the long vertical lines with divided compartments on all sides.

It's hard to see because my camera isn't the best in the world but underneath the hooks where you can hang bracelets, watches or necklaces, is a long extended pouch to tuck things in and that is where I put my bangles.

The second drawer underneath the top one has one big space with three smaller spaces divided up evenly. I used this space to put bracelets and other trinkets that won't fit in the smaller compartments.

This is the third and last drawer where I have put all my earrings. I have so many that this wasn't enough space, so I doubled up on some of them and others that I don't wear as often, I left in my old smaller jewelry box. The main reason for this newer and more beautiful box was that I wanted to keep my favorite and most worn pieces in and making it easier to grab in a hurry if need be.

This is a side view of this truly awesome Mahogany Wood Jewelry Box so that you can see the detail that went into making the columns and so you can see the really nice brass ring holders that you use to carry the box. These are on either side of the Corinthian box.

Here are a few others that I thought about getting also, just so you can see a few other choices of wood jewelry boxes that Reed & Barton have for you to choose from.

So, as you can see, there is a total different vibe to each one and this is only three to choose from.

They have all kinds of colors to choose from along with several kinds of woods to choose from also. The sizes range from small to large to anything in between. I don't think you will have a problem finding the perfect jewelry box as a gift for someone else or for yourself.

If jewelry boxes aren't what you are looking for, Reed & Barton's has a lot of other gift idea's that you can choose from including ornaments, snowglobes (which I would have loved to have one of those!), flatware, crystal (another favorite of mine), dinnerware, serving wares, baby items to picture frames.

They have wedding gifts, anniversary gifts, christening & baptism items, corporate gifts to hostess and housewarming ideas. Gosh, there is so much to choose from that I don't think I would ever get tired of just looking around! And the best part of all? Well, you can have most of these items engraved to make them really special to the person giving and the person receiving!

I collect Santa Clauses of all kinds, whether to sit around the tree or to put on the tree and these 2 Christmas ornaments that are both Santa's but one is what they call a Tear Drop Santa which is on the right, caught my eyes.

They are breathtaking and would make any tree the center of attention! What do you think?
