Mood Lites Review

I recently received 2 different kinds and colors of Mood Lites to review and I was really excited to get them in the colors of Christmas, which was red and green! I think we are going to use the green one to put in the outside light by the door to give it a festive color and then maybe the red one somewhere by the tree to cast a festive mood in that room. A company called Mood Factory is who makes these Mood Lites.
The green Mood Lites reflect Renewal because green is associated with growth, fruitfulness and renewal.
I actually have never used a light bulb shaped like this before but it turned out to be pretty cool when we changed out a light in the living room and put the green one in just to see what it would do. Here's what the living room looked like with the green light.
Some uses for Renewal Mood Lites:
*Add ‘Renewal’ in your entryway to
set a mood that welcomes you and your family home.
*Promote a sense of rejuvenation
by having a ‘Renewal’ in your study
or library
*Put a ‘Renewal’ in a unique shade
to show off your individual style.
Now, just imagine how it will look outside! We are going to go ahead and decorate the weekend of Thanksgiving so I will know then what I am doing with the red light. I was very surprised that this one turned out so pretty. This light is called a CFL Porch Light.

CFL Porch Lights:

  • 13 Watts Energy Used.
  • Lasts up to 8,000 hours.
  • Small Base.
  • Available in Happiness, Passion, and Renewal.
  •    A quarter of each sale goes to charity.

This red light is called an Incandescent Mood Lite.

Incandescent Mood-lites:

*25 Watts Energy Used.
*Lasts up to 1,000 hours.
*Available in Sassy, Serenity, Happiness, Passion,
*Renewal, Creativity, and a Black-lite.
*A quarter of each sales goes to charity.
*Red means passion

Where you can use the red passion bulb:

*Turn on ‘Passion’ in the dining
room when you want to invite
romance to dinner.
*Position a ‘Passion’ in the kitchen
to promote zeal and enthusiasm in cooking.
*Add some ‘Passion’ during your favorite sporting event party to support team colors and fun.

Now, this is a picture I took off of their site since I didn't get one in my house before I downloaded the pictures. I believe this is the bathroom and she is taking a bath. Not sure if that is what I would do, but everyone is different, thank goodness! Mood Lites suggests that the lights are put in white or translucent shades for 1 year.
If you are going to use these bulbs indoors, then here are a few suggestions:
Complement current lighting• A Passion lamp in a corner of the bedroom,
• An accent lamp with Serenity in your bathroom,
• An overhead Energy light in the workout room.
Stand-alone lighting
• A Happy in the entry way.
• A few Creativity bulbs in your favorite meditating room.
• Some Tranquility in the baby’s room.

You can also buy these awesome Mood Lites in your nearby Lowe's Home Improvement Store.
Here is a little bit about Mood Lites:
"Mood-lites represent Mood-Factory’s first line of products which are based on the sense of sight, and specifically, in regards to how colors affect how we feel,” said the Chicago-based Kathryn Goetzke, President, Mood-Factory. “We initially launched an incandescent line in 2004, and in 2012 launched a 2nd generation including flood, porch, and compact fluorescent (CFL)  Mood-lites. The colors were developed using a number of color expert research, and applying their general concepts to lighting."
In 2004, in addition to launching the Mood-Factory, Kathryn Goetzke founded the International Foundation for Research and Education on Depression (iFred),, to shine a positive light on depression and eliminate the stigma associated with the disease through prevention, research and education. Its goal is to ensure 100% of the 350 million people affected by depression seek and receive treatment.  Kathryn has seen first-hand the devastating affects depression has had on friends and families and donates part of the proceeds of the Mood-Factory product-line to iFred.

I would like to try the Serenity. I also like the Sassy, the first thing I thought of before I read about it was Breast Cancer Awareness and they suggest it for that too.

I love these. It would be nice to set the mood of the room. Lighting and sound can really change an atmosphere.
