Maggi So Juicy Review

I recently had the pleasure of trying out a new kind of cooking bag from Maggi So Juicy, who I did not even know about! They sent me boxes of each flavor for us to experiment with on chicken.
1.   Mediterranean Herb Medley
2.)  Italian Countryside
3.)  Savory Garlic & Tomato
The only one I did not get was the Tomato & Paprika one and I doubt that we would have cared for that one anyway because we are not too crazy about Paprika so they made the right choice.
It was really very easy to use and it takes only 3 simple steps for you to have some awesome tasting chicken without having to go out and eat! All of these bags of seasonings are for chicken. All you do is sprinkle the seasonings onto the chicken (after it's in the bag), coat the chicken really good and bake! Now, how much easier can you get than that?
We liked this flavor the best, Mediterranean Herb Medley. It was also the very first one we tried, so I think we already knew we would like it the best because we love herbs!
Here's what your chicken should look like before you put it in the oven to bake. I also put 2 small slits in the bag so that it could expand without busting the bag. I have used this technique forever and no matter what I am baking, it comes out perfectly.
The chicken came out nice and brown but tender and juicy on the inside. I had one extra breast that I didn't coat just in case we didn't like it but we did, so Charlie ate the one with no seasonings over the next 3 days. He loves baked chicken!
Oh, and don't add any liquids such as oils or water. It actually made it's own sauce as you can see in the above picture. The chicken was actually still tender and moist the day after it was cooked also. I can only eat about one quarter of a chicken breast because of my stomach, so I had enough chicken for 3 meals.
Each packet has enough coating to cover 4 chicken breasts. I divided them up into two's so that when I cooked them, I didn't waste anything. My husband is really weird about eating leftovers so I try not to make too much or it goes to waste.
And they even included a potholder in my package! It came at just the right time as some of my others are starting to show wear and tear, so I really did appreciate that!
The Garlic & Tomato was really good too, but because of my I.C. I have to limit the amount of tomatoes that I eat or anything that has it in the ingredients. So, I gave this one to my next door neighbor and friend. Once she used it, my husband went over and got just one chicken breast from her so he could try it. He said it was just as juicy and tender as the Herb one but with a hint of hot and then we closely looked at the package and sure enough, chili was one of the ingredients.
So, it would have been a double whammy for me because hot or spicy foods are definitely a big NO on the list of foods to stay away from. But, my husband and the couple next to us loved this one because it is slightly spicy.
If you love Italian food, then this is the one for you. We liked this one a lot, too, and it was a toss up between Mediterranean Herbs and this one, so I decided to call it a tie. According to the packages, there is no MSG and no Hydrogenated Oils in there either, so if you are some kind of diet, this would be a great seasoning to try. It is also only 10 calories per serving which is 1 tablespoon.
You can find Maggi So Juicy in Kroger stores and you can locate where they might be by checking out the Store Locator on Maggi.
I grabbed this photo off of Maggi's site so you could see what the Italian Countryside would look like and I am also sharing their recipe because it really does look good!
It's called: Italian Countryside Orzo Pasta with Chicken, Broccolini and Sun-dried Tomatoes
1 packet (1.05 ounces) MAGGI SO JUICY Italian Countryside Herb Blend Seasoning
1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders, chopped into 1-inch cubes
1/2 lemon
8 stalks (6 ounces) broccolini, chopped into bite-size pieces
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
1 cup orzo pasta, cooked and drained
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Tear open the top part of the seasoning packet and remove cooking bag.

PLACE chicken, lemon, broccolini, water and sun-dried tomatoes inside cooking bag. Open lower part of packet and sprinkle seasoning inside bag. Use the tie provided to close the cooking bag. Coat ingredients evenly by gently mixing and turning the cooking bag. Lay the bag flat in an ovenproof dish and spread out ingredients in a single layer. Place on the lower-middle rack of the oven. Remove all racks above the dish as the bag expands during cooking.

BAKE for 35 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes before carefully cutting open the cooking bag. (CAUTION: THE STEAM WILL BE VERY HOT.) Place cooked pasta on serving platter; pour cooking bag contents over orzo pasta and toss to combine.
I hope that you will try one of these flavors and see for yourself how tender and juicy that your chicken can be with the right cooking ingredients! I don't know about you guys, but I will be checking out more of their recipes, because they really do look amazing. I just hope mine comes out as good looking as theirs did!
