I have some really new awesome chips to share with you from Green Giant and they are called Veggie Snack Chips! I was sent four flavors to try and they were so good, it was hard to believe that they were veggies! They used real sweet potatoes for the sweet potato chips and real vegetables for the Veggie Snack Chips.
The four flavors were:
1.) Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt
2.) Muligrain Sweet Potato in Barbeque
3.) Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Garden Ranch
4.) Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Zesty Cheddar
I really liked the Sea Salt Sweet Potato Chips the most. They were so totally awesome that I ended up eating the whole bag all to myself! Mike isn't too crazy about Sweet Potatoes, so that left those 2 bags to me and I really loved that idea. These chips are very crunchy, which is how I like my chips. They are similar to potato chips but a little bit harder than regular chips. You know, chips are usually light and airy and these are just a tad stronger. You can have 16 chips and only eat 140 calories!
You can definitely tell that they are made with Sweet Potatoes. It's not overpowering but if you love Sweet Potatoes, then you will definitely taste them and love them. Whoever came up with this idea sure knew what they were doing and Publix was very smart to stock them on their shelves because these will an instant hit! Oh, did I mention that these chips are 40% less fat than regular chips? Both varieties of Sweet Potato Chips are really and truly very good for you!
My husband is the Barbeque fan in this house but because they were Sweet Potatoes, he wouldn't even budge to try these, so it was up to me. I can eat Barbeque Chips but they have to be very light and not a lot of Barbeque on them. I know some Barbeque Chips are a little on the hot side so I have to be really careful not to get ahold of those, especially with the I.C. So, I didn't eat many, just enough to know that they were very good!
I gave most of the bag to my friend and next door neighbor so that I could really get a good judgment about them. She was really excited about the Barbeque and by the next day had finished off the bag! She said if a person loved Barbeque, then this would be the one for them to try.
I will have explain to you that Mike is obsessed with Tortilla Chips! He loves those better than any other chip out there and can eat the most Salsa & Chips I have ever seen, so these next two were his favorites by far. They do make a pretty good loud crack when you bit into them. Mike was really in heaven with these Zesty Cheddar ones. His second most favorite snack is cheese so this really made his day.
The Zesty Cheddar Tortilla Chips have 17 grams of Fiber per and you can still get the 140 calories but can only eat 10 chips of this kind. I was wondering if these would be as good about that as the Sweet Potatoes, and while it is less chips, it is still a bargain to me because I can't eat much chips, so this was great news for me. I love when food comes together and you can still eat within reason while dieting.
This one, the Garden Ranch was the one I liked the best in the Tortilla Chip variety. Mike liked this flavor also but the Zesty Cheddar was still his favorite. I love Ranch dressing so I can eat just about anything within reason if it's Ranch. Both Tortilla Chips were nice and crunchy and that told us that these were very fresh, not stale like tortilla chips can get and we were both pleased that these were still fresh tasting.
The Garden Ranch has 18 grams of Fiber per serving and 130 calories per 10 chips. These just might become one of my favorite chips beside the Sweet Potato. I love having choices, don't you?
While I was at Publix, I stocked up on Green Giant products with the Gift Card that they had sent me. I think I had picked up a little bit of everything that we like by Green Giant. Here are some of the things that were on sale for Green Giant:
Between the frozen vegetables and the canned ones, I really raked in a good haul of Green Giant products. We really love the taste and the high quality of Green Giant's vegetables so I always keep them on hand. I think the frozen vegetables taste just as good as the fresh ones that you can get in the produce department. I buy frozen because we can hold them longer than fresh produce and not worry about them going bad.
Green Giant's canned vegetables are a good source of fiber and taste just as good as the frozen vegetables. I use them by themselves or mixed in with soups and casseroles to bring extra flavor to any meal. I think you will love the taste of Green Giant Vegetables also, so give them a try the next time you go shopping at Publix!
The awesome folks at Publix and Green Giant will be offering one winner the same 4 bags of Veggie Snack Chips along with a $25 GC to shop at Publix! Open in the U.S. only. Good Luck Everyone!
