Himalyan Salt Lamp Review

I must have done something right in my life lately because I got to review another Himalayan Salt Lamp! I have to tell you that the people at Himalayan Salt Shop have been so extra kind. They know I have so many health issues and every time I call on them to offer a lamp or anything for that matter in one of my giveaways, he is always willing and goes even a little further than I expected. I would have been happy to do the review w/o a lamp since I already have one but he sent one anyway!
With this one, we now have one in each of the major rooms that we occupy the most and we have not had as many allergy problems as we used to. And I don't take allergy medications because I am on so many meds now that I would be afraid to take them.  I hardly have any sinus headaches like I used to and so does Mike. We used to suffer almost year round but are doing much better now!

Now, the top picture of course is with the lamp off and then this one is with the light turned on. What a difference it makes, huh?  First off I got this lamp from the Himalayan Salt Shop and wanted to send out a special Thank You for being so kind as to let me have another one to review!
The picture below shows you how versatile the images can be. I have been in a shop once and got to see the bowl one with all the little ones in the bowl and they truly are awesome! I even got to see some that were made into real lamps with shades!
Did you know that the salt lamps are made of natural crystal salt mined from underground salt mines in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains? They are also hundreds of millions of years old and as a result, has special properties and high mineral content.
They have all kinds of animal shapes to choose from and they did it to start with to appeal to children but I think adults love them just as much. What better why to have something that will help with allergies and sinus trouble while looking at a beautiful piece of art! So, do go and check out all the animal salt lamps when you get a chance.
You won't be sorry once you get there and see all the shapes and information there is to learn about Salt Lamps.  There is something very peaceful about looking at them while they are lit and the rest of the lights have been turned off.

Oh, and if you decide to try one out, Himalayan Salt Shop gives a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee so if it doesn't work out for you, you can return it. But I really don't think you will. If you suffer from allergies, it is worth a shot just to see if you get some relief. Any relief to me is better than none.

This is just a snippet of what I took off of Himalayan Salt Shop's information section:
The Himalayan salt lamp makes use of the minerals that have been preserved for millions of years, releasing their special properties through the introduction of heat from an electric bulb or from the flame of a candle.
These special properties emitted from the Salt Lamp are responsible for promoting the health and wellness of individuals via ionization of the air and the eradication of pollution. The special properties Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamps consist of negatively charged ions that act on the contaminants in the air by neutralizing them and weighing them down so they can no longer circulate.
When this occurs, individuals can breathe more easily and many ailments and allergies that frequently afflict them begin to diminish.
You can start out small like I did and work up into all sorts of sizes and shapes of salt lamps. You can get the salt lamps in shapes of animals such as dolphins, cats, turtles and bunnies. I have even seen some in lanterns and as candle holders. They also carry the salts that can be used in bath salts. You can also get the salt grinder should you need one to grind your salt chunks.

They even have Himalayan Salt now that you can use to season your food with. I have had the pleasure of using some of this salt and it is really off the charts awesome! Somehow, even though it's salt, it tastes different but I love it because it is all natural and I believe it has some healing powers also.  That is just my opinion, no one has told me that, but I seem to be able to eat my food better and not have as many stomach issues when I use the Himalayan Salts.

Some people believe that they help with an array of health problems, like Dr. Oz, who has recommended a Salt Inhaler. He says that this salt is all-natural and pollutant-free. It helps with allergies, sinus infections and breathing difficulties.

This is what I found under the About Us:
The Himalayan Salt Shop was founded in 2005 by Ernest Gaglione in the basement of a two family house in Bloomfield, NJ. Originally, Ernest had to lug his heavy inventory up and down steep basement stairs as he personally shipped each customer's order.
As his company grew through hard work and perseverance, Ernest reached the point where he could afford a small office space in Parsippany, NJ. Ernest continued to expand by employing a fulfillment center to help with the shipping of orders.

Today the Himalayan Salt Shop is one of the biggest Internet retailers of authentic Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamps on the web. They also wholesale their products to businesses across the country.
If you are looking to patronize a small business headed by a true hard-working American entrepreneur, you can feel confident buying from us. Also, if you have any questions, feel free to email Ernest personally at We thank you for your interest in our products.

Their lamps a so beautiful I love the soft warm light they give off. They remind me of the glow lamps used in Dune (for you geeks out there)

These are beautiful and they really do work. My mother has one of the smaller ones and she loves it. I keep trying to bring it home with me but she's not giving it up. We have allergies in this house and one of these may really help out.

I must admit, I have seen these in various places and have never really took the time to read about them. I seriously did not know about the benefits with sinuses. My honey-do is a life long sufferer of sinus problems. He really needs surgery to correct but yea, we are under insured so that ain't going to happen. I do believe that natural approaches to health issues are great. Cool that it is a beautiful decor piece as well, but if I were to invest in one it would mostly be due to helping with sinuses.

These are fascinating I have allergies and I would love to try one of these to see if it helps and gives some relief, I love that they come in so many different shapes and sizes and I like the warm glow that they put out when in use and to see if the negatively charged ions that are put out by these salt lamps can neutralize the contaminantes in my home by neutralizing them and weighing them down so they don't circulate in the air.
