eKoffee Review

I have an awesome set of coffee's and a bag of loose leaf tea to share with you today! Wow, we were blown away by how great they all tasted and I was so very happy that I guessed right on 2 of the bags and then eKoffee sent me another one as a surprise and he picked another winner for us!
We got these coffee's and one tea to review:

1.)  Rostov's Tammy's Blend
2.)  Red Rooster's Farmhouse Blend
3.)  Patti's Place Decaf Brazilian Sunrise
4.)  Patti's Place Decaf Green Earl Grey Tea

Wow, is all I have to say! We were so excited to get all of these different flavors to try and of course, for me, the Earl Grey tea was an added bonus. Mike won't drink hot tea but that's okay, because it just leaves more for me!

Jason from eKoffee really did an awesome job in helping me decide which flavors to try and then added one that I wasn't expecting and from my selections he was able to get an idea of what we liked and nailed it for us on the extra bag! I love it when you can rely on that personal attention, don't you? It almost has that small town feel to it and I should know since I live in a small tourist town. We pride ourselves on that extra special something!

We'll start with the Decaf Green Earl Grey tea from Patti's Place first since there is only one bag of that and it's my favorite. I never even knew that Earl Grey came in a Green Tea, did you? So, I learned something new and got to taste a different side of Earl Grey and was very surprised at how great it tasted!
First off, I thought I would share some health benefits of green teas. Did you know that they are full of healthy antioxidants? Green teas boost your immune system, maintain healthy blood sugar levels and lower LDL cholesterol, which is something I need badly.

If you love the taste of Earl Grey Tea, then you will love this new twist! I also was very glad that they sent me Decaf also. I have that bladder condition called I.C. which can be set off by high caffeine, acids, or anything spicy, so I have to be very careful at times what I eat and consume. I can do coffee or tea regular as long as I don't do it too much every day. I have to skip around and so it takes me a little longer to try my new coffees and teas, but man, are they worth it!

This is a rich full body tea with the added benefits of green tea thrown in. Can't get much better than this!

Since we started with Patti's Place tea, the next one is their Decaf Brazilian Sunrise coffee. I know my picture doesn't do it justice but the beans are a deep rich color and full of aroma! I don't know about any of you, but I prefer our coffee in whole beans. I used to be right the opposite until we got a grinder to review one day and ever since, we have converted to whole beans. They just smell richer, taste richer and they last longer!
This coffee is really rich with a maple like smell with a hint of vanilla. This is a Medium Roast coffee and that is about where we like to stay. Sometimes I will drift over to a Light Roast if my bladder condition gets really bad or I drink less of the Medium Roast. Whatever your preference, this one is great for those of you who don't like the jitters that regular coffee brings. For some odd reason, caffeine has never kept me awake but I know from listening to my husband and others, it is a concern. With this coffee, you won't have to worry about losing any sleep.

This was a really smooth, low acidic coffee, which I appreciated and so did my husband. He loves drinking coffee in the evenings because he is cold natured and he claims I keep it too cold in here, so he will make a cup and get warm. That was what was so important to him. Getting to drink a good cup of coffee but not have to worry about being kept up at night. This was his favorite coffee because of that.
Here's what Patti's Place has to say about their coffee:
I am passionate about testing, combining and finding fresh new flavors, and for inventing new approaches to make your daily cup (or maybe cups) of coffee much more interesting and enjoyable. I start with the highest quality fair trade beans I can find and then roast to perfection.
Now, I have to admit that this one was my absolute favorite in the coffee's that we received. It just had the smoothest, gentle taste that settled nicely in my tummy and did not cause any unwanted acid reflux. And yes, I have that too! Farmhouse Blend by Red Rooster is one of the best coffee's I have tasted in a long time! If you have problems with heartburn or acid reflux, this is the coffee for you.
Here is where I went Light to Medium with this blend. Remember, I said that if my bladder was acting up, I tended to go Light and this is the perfect coffee for that but also for controlling the heartburn if you have that also.
It has tasting notes that include sweet citrus, orange zest, and milk chocolate. You will also taste a little bit of a buttery caramel flavor but to me, it was really faint. I just got the impression it was an awesome cup of coffee that went perfect with regular cream and sugar. Mike likes to dilute coffee with Hazelnut creamer and I do have to admit on this particular coffee, it was pretty darn good, but I still prefer regular creamer so I can actually taste the coffee, not the creamer!
Here's a little bit about Red Rooster:
Red Rooster is a certified organic artisan coffee roaster located in downtown Floyd, VA and specializing in small batches of amazing coffee from around the world.  Red Rooster also takes special pride in their bag design, commissioning local artists to create beautiful, dynamic and vibrant labels that match the intensity and flavor of the coffee inside. Each bag is then locally printed by hand using water-based eco-friendly inks, creating a unique and beautiful final product.
Lastly, we have Tammy's Blend from Rostov's and it's a Medium Roast coffee. The beans are still not as dark as the Brazilian Sunrise at the top, but that's okay, because it is still full of coffee. This one is a simple basic coffee. No gimmicks, no flavors, just plain good ole coffee! It is a delicious blend of Kenyan and a Viennese Roasted Colombian coffee beans.
I laughed when I read the description on eKoffee's site but I guess it was correct because it said that this was a classic "diner" coffee. But, hey, I don't know about you, but to me, those are sometimes the best coffee's around! I have to admit I do love several of our local diner's coffees and when you are serving the public, you have to have an "all around coffee" that everyone likes.
So, this coffee does fit that bill and it's not overly strong or acidic, so I can drink this without any problems. Mike and I both loved this coffee. I even drank this one with hazelnut creamer and it was totally awesome!
A little bit about Rostov's:
Rostov’s Coffee & Tea is located in the Gallery District of Richmond, Virginia and is a second-generation household name and beloved staple to many who call the city their home. Rostov’s Coffee & Tea has been roasting coffee in Richmond since 1979 and it’s their goal to give you the ultimate coffee experience.  To do so, Rostov’s Coffee & Tea purchases beans from the countries and climates that they know grow the best coffee.
All of these were made possible my and Jason, so now I would like to talk a little bit about them. On the site, you have a wide range of coffee's and roasters that you can choose from. The selection is quite large and I kept going around and around until I narrowed down my search. I think the 3 coffee's that I got were exactly what I wanted and the tea was the icing on the cake!

You can get coffee's from about 16 different countries and there are 8 roasters that offer those coffee's. You can get Regular, Decaf, Espresso and Flavored coffee's.  Then you have your choice of either Light Roast, Light Medium Roast, Medium Roast, Medium Dark Roast and Dark Roast. So, there is a lot to take into consideration when you are shopping for coffee!

Oh, and if you are trying to give coffee for a gift but not sure what they drink, then get them a gift certificate from eKoffee! They have $25, $50 and $100 amounts so knock yourself out this holiday season!

To get you started Jason is giving my reader's a 10% off coupon to use and it will be good all the way thru this giveaway. You can also use it as many times as you want. It will be MARYSCUPOFTEA.  Please use that coupon code when checking out.
