This Book Needs A Title Review

I know you are probably wondering where in the heck is the book? Well, believe it or not, it's a solid white book with this black writing on it, period! The name of the book really is titled, This Book Needs A Title written by Theodore Ficklestein.

It is actually a collection of poems and I know you are wondering what am I thinking? Well, to be honest, I have been pretty biased here with all the mystery/murder/horror/romance type books. So, in an attempt to be able to say I am a true Book Lover, I decided I need to spread my wings and be willing to be uncomfortable in testing new waters.

Now, this book is not your ordinary book about poems either. Most of them don't rhyme and range in so many subjects that will either make you laugh your socks off or cause a tear or two. It really depends if you like poetry or not. Those who do, will love this book and for those who really don't care one way or another, you probably won't. I have to admit it is hard to sit down and read short stories (I think of them like that) compared to a whole book of something.

Here's an example of one of the poems in the book:

Cup of Me

I poured out my heart for you.
The reader.
Seriously I did.
I really did.
I put all I can into this.
And I treated each piece the best I can.
Whether that produced quality writing that you may find satisfactory to read is another issue altogether.
But I want you to know that I didn't mail this in.
Treat it nonchalantly.
Or take it for granted.
I worked very hard writing this.
So here you go.
A token of my appreciation if you will.
Here is my heart I poured out while writing this.

I kid you not, that is really one of the poems from the book. So, now do you see what I mean? I think he is actually making fun of writing. Or of himself, who knows?

The whole book is like this and some are even more funny and more poking fun, I think. I could be wrong but that is what I think. He's quite good at it, too! If you go over to his blog you will understand what I mean. Even there he is funny and doesn't take himself seriously. So, I am treating this as a comedy of sorts and hopefully I don't step on any toes. To give yourself a good laugh or even a few chuckles but definitely a smile, hop on over and read for yourself!

Happy Reading!

LOL, funny name for a book! I used to write a lot of poetry (even sold a few greeting cards!), and I may just check this out. I could use a little inspiration to get back into it!
