The Devil's Necktie Book Review

I have a really awesome thriller to share with you today called The Devil's Necktie written by John Lansing. You have really got to read this book! It is packed full of action from the time you pick it up until the very end. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day!
Retired Inspector Jack Bertolino had strict rules when dealing with confidential informants. But Mia had the kind of beauty that could make a grown man contemplate leaving his wife, his job, and his kids. After a passionate night together, Mia is found murdered, and Jack is the lead suspect.
Facing threats from the LAPD, the 18th Street Angels, and a Columbian drug cartel, Jack delves deeper into the seedy world of drug dealers and Murderers. Jack is torn between fearing for his life and seeking revenge for his slain lover... either way the body count will rise.
This book is going to keep you in suspense the whole time you are reading it. Yes, the bad guys are known right up front and there isn't many secrets except from Jack! All the bad guys know pretty much what they are doing and who they are going to kill, which happens to be Jack.

Jack used to be a big time detective in New York but retired and came out to Los Angeles, which is a weird choice considering where he is living but I guess to each his own. Jack used to work in Narcotics and he sent away some really bad drug lords who want payback.

Unfortunately, for Mia, her being smart did not help her when she made one fatal mistake in her quest to hide from this one drug lord who wanted revenge. See, it was Mia that helped Jack and his friend get the goods on this drug dealer. They did not know where she was but she made the unfortunate mistake of getting in touch with Jack, who did not know he was being watched. So, when he went to see Mia, they followed him and found her.

And that is where the name Devil's Necktie comes in. It's some sort of ritual thing that they do to people who fingers another. It's really very nasty and I sure would not want to be the one getting that! I won't explain it, you will just have to read the book. It sounds more gross and awful when read in the heat of the moment that Mia dies.
