SlingShot Book Review

I have a great book to share with you today called SlingShot that was written by Matthew Dunn. If you love reading about thrillers then this is going to be one you don't want to miss reading.
Matthew Dunn uses his experience as a former MI6 field officer to bring transfixing realism to Slingshot, his third Spycatcher novel featuring Will Cochrane—MI6’s, and now the CIA’s, most prized asset and deadliest weapon.

In Slingshot, Cochrane is ordered to recover a mysterious document stolen by a Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SRV) traitor working for a former high-ranking East German Stasi officer. The officer, years before, had instigated a secret pact between Russian and U.S. generals. The agreement stipulated that should it be broken, an assassin would immediately be set loose after an unknown target.

The SRV has sent their own version of Cochrane, a cold-blooded, brilliant operative, to retrieve the document, pitting spy catcher against spy catcher.

Slingshot, with its cat-and-mouse espionage, brutal action, and complex protagonist, is a must-read for fans of Robert Ludlum and Lee Child.
Yep, you guessed it, it's a spy book! It's all about secrets that the Soviets made with the knowledge of a few top American officials being in on this secret pact that they made a long time ago. Now, they are all old men but one of them decides to start something that will have far reaching consequences.

So, now a trained killer has orders but when he made this pact he wasn't married and didn't have children so it's not immediately known which way he will go. The man who started this whole double cross thinks he is the ace up his sleeve though.

Then you have the British/American spy who has to figure out what is going on and fast. Can he do it? He's as tough as they come but they reach out and find Will's ex-wife and her husband and threaten their lives so Will gets together a team to be their body guards. Unfortunately, for him, it backfires on him and he loses someone he cared about deeply.

This actually has a profound effect on him and the killers will be sorry they messed with him when he's done with them. And the worse part is, someone in America has been helping the Soviet's in this deadly cat and mouse act. Who betrayed Will?

Well, read the book and find out!

Happy Reading!

The author has graciously given me permission to offer one reader their own copy of SlingShot to win. Open in the U.S. only. Good Luck Everyone!
