Grilling Out with Kroger Products Review

Oh, yes! This picture speaks a thousand words. We recently were fortunate enough that we were able to review some food products from the Kroger brand. We were surprised to learn that they really were just as good as the name brand food groups. And so will you if you give them a chance. I was always leery myself until now, so if I can change my mind, so can you.
Here is what we got to review:
1.)  Slider Hamburgers (frozen)
2.)  Slider Hamburger Buns
3.)  Kroger Cheddar Cheese Slices
4.)  Kroger's Potato Chips
5.)  Kroger's Brand of Soda
6.)  Kroger's Brand of Vanilla Ice Cream
We decided to grill out one Saturday night and invited my daughter and her family over. I wasn't sure how it would all turn out since we were departing from the normal grilling out routine. We always made our own hamburgers so using frozen ones and then to add another different twist, Sliders to the mix, was really taking a chance.
I was pleasantly surprised that the Slider Buns were actually very soft and very good. I could actually see using them as bread for meals just using one piece at a time and toasting them with butter. Which we actually did one night later on with Spaghetti!  I did sprinkle some garlic salt on them also and it made the perfect garlic bread!
My crew is not known for eating just one round. They go back for seconds, so with the hamburgers being smaller, I wondered how it would go. It actually wasn't that bad! Mike made sure that he watched them extra careful because they are thinner than his normal extra big hamburgers and that is what I worried about the most, that he would burn them because they are thinner and smaller. But, he came thru and once we added the Cheddar Cheese crumbles (we like it better than slices), he was in a better mood and got into the spirit!
I was very happy with the results myself too! I thought the Slider Hamburgers and the buns were so delicately cute. I decided that these would actually make a great finger food the next time a party was involved because you could just eat one slider and still be in the mood for the other foods throughout the party. So, as I was eating my slider cheeseburger and the potato chips that we got for this particular grill out which was the Cheddar Cheese & Sour Cream chips, I was also planning my next grill out party!
We decided to get Kroger's Private Selection Blackberry Pie for dessert and it's just not pie without ice cream, so I got Kroger's brand of Vanilla Ice Cream to go with the pie. Normally, we get Peach Pie but we were living dangerously for this grill out, so we did something else that we normally don't do. It ended up making the perfect dessert!

I do have to confess here that I made a boo boo. I did not read my coupon and assumed it was for whatever flavor I wanted when I was suppose to get their new Deluxe S’mores Ice Cream. I did not even realize it until I came over to post the review and read the instructions. Gosh, what a dimwit! I normally don't make that mistake. So, I will have to get some and make a special post about it later on.
Can you tell that I enjoyed more Vanilla Ice Cream than pie? Although, the rest of them did the opposite and had more pie than ice cream but, they weren't the ones having to share their ice cream with Charlie, our Yorkie! He loves that stuff. So, I did dish out a few spoons of just the ice cream for him. He was in heaven. Charlie doesn't get vanilla ice cream often but when he does, you can tell it makes his day!
Now, while some of us enjoyed Sweet Iced Tea, the children of the group enjoyed the Kroger brand of Orange Cream Soda. It was the highlight of their meal besides the pie and vanilla ice cream! I am kidding, they really liked the cheeseburgers also but what can you say when you are young? We all know that dessert and something awesome to drink trumps anything you had for dinner!
I did take a quick few sips so that I could write about it. I normally don't drink cream soda's as they are too sweet for me but it's what the kid's requested and we normally don't let them drink these either, but it was a celebration and all diet's were put aside to enjoy one fantastic meal and dessert. It's not often that we get together, so I treated everyone to what they requested. I normally strike a balance between good food and bad food but this time it was all bad!
This was my plate. I did not eat the Cheddar Cheese & Sour Cream chips, I opted for plain ones. I really don't like flavored chips that much except for plain sour cream ones, but everyone else vetoed me and wanted the Cheddar Cheese ones, so I got two different bags. One plain for me and one of theirs for them.
I think all in all, it went pretty good and everyone left with full stomachs and what was left of the chips and cream soda's as they knew I would not touch them if they left them here with me. Which is okay, I had planned on that all along.
I would definitely recommend these if you are grilling out and have younger children who can't eat grown up hamburgers, these would make the perfect solution. Also, if you have someone on a diet or eating restrictions, this is perfect for them.  I think from now on, I am going to mix them up so that whoever wants the real big hamburgers that Mike makes can have those and the rest of us who can't eat that big, can have the Sliders.
I love it when a plan comes together, don't you?

Disclaimer: I am a BzzAgent and I was provided with a means to experience the product or service thru products that were mailed to me and I passed some along to friends and family. This did not in any way persuade me to give this product a favorable review.

Sounds like a successful dinner! I usually make my own burgers too, but this sounds like a great option when I'm pressed for time or when the grownups are grilling something the kids don't eat.
