Cassie Scot Paranormal Detective Book Review

I have a really awesome book to tell you about today called Cassie Scot, Paranormal Detective written by Christine Amsden. It is about all the magic in the world and all the people who have the power to do all sorts of things. I thought it would be a teen's book at first and didn't know if I would like it but the more I read, the better it got!
Here is an Overview of the Book:
Cassie Scot is the ungifted daughter of powerful sorcerers, born between worlds but belonging to neither. At 21, all she wants is to find a place for herself, but earning a living as a private investigator in the shadow of her family's reputation isn't easy. When she is pulled into a paranormal investigation, and tempted by a powerful and handsome sorcerer, she will have to decide where she truly belongs.
This book sort of took off a little slow but when it got going, it was going a mile a minute with all the things going on around Cassie and she really needed for things to slow down so she could think but then her parent's did a really weird thing, in my book anyway.

Yeah, she 21, but has lived at home her whole life and then boom, her parents kick her out, because of some mystical sign? They think they can't protect the rest of the 7 children if she stays because it only works on 7, not 8 and Cassie makes 8. Since all the other children are younger, she gets the boot.

Problem is, there is trouble coming and already several people are dead. And one of them was a pretty powerful witch but somehow she got tangled up into something she didn't see coming. A vampire was able to catch her unaware and turned her into one also. But then something happened and the witch got the axe.

Which leaves Cassie in a very bad place. With no home and because they all believe that they are better off inside a home when there is a vampire loose, well, things aren't looking too good. Cassie's younger brother comes to try and protect her but is greeted by an unexpected rival. Someone else had that in mind also and it will be someone that no one, not even Cassie's parents would want her to be owing a favor.  But, that's not what he wants at all!

You will love this book! It has it all, including a whodunit, magic, spells, vampires, witches, warlocks, etc. You should get your fill of all that right here in this book.

Happy Reading!

Thank you for your review and for hosting my book. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Cassie's story. Secrets and Lies (book 2) will be out very soon and you'll learn much more about Cassie's parents.
