Wild Planet Foods Lunch Bag Cooler Sponsor Spotlight Review

Well, guys, this is gonna be a really simple and straight forward giveaway from Wild Planet makes awesome Albacore Tune, Skipjack Light Tuna or Sardines, but because we don't get these products where I am at, I don't have any pictures or know what they taste like so all I can do is give you some of the company information.
I can tell you that they will be sending the winner of Honor the Earth Giveaway a lunch bag cooler filled with their products like the one above. So, I would love to know from the winner when you get a chance to taste some of the products, give me a shout out about how they taste so that I can at least talk about them the next time from a real person's perpestive.Her are some of the products that Wild Planet carries:

Wild Planet is committed to providing the finest tasting sustainably caught seafood while supporting the conservation of wild marine ecosystems.

  • Pole and troll tuna fishing is rated as the best catch method for tuna by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program, Blue Ocean Institute, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Greenpeace and other industry experts.
  • Wild Planet sources tuna ONLY from pole and troll catch fisheries.
  • We do not source ANY fish from long-line or purse seine fisheries.
  • Please note how Wild Planet's providing 100% sustainably caught products compares to other major "sustainable" brands' claims that they will be sustainable compliant by 2014 or 2015. Some companies' efforts to reach compliance for sustainability include using FAD-free purse seining, which is not considered a best catch method by a consensus of eco-organizations.

    We already are 100% compliant and have been since 2004.
I thought you might find this interesting as well as it tells us what is in the tuna that is so appealing:
Why does our Albacore have such a high level of Omega 3? We cook our albacore once in the can so all the natural Omega 3 are intact. We do not add water or oil. The large national brands of tuna lose most of the Omega 3 in their pre-cooking process before the fish is combined in the can with water or vegetable oil.
They sell the extracted Omega 3 oil to supplement manufacturers to use in the production of Omega 3 capsules.
Let us provide you with your Omega 3s naturally, with high-protein, high-Omega 3 Albacore.
Wild Planet Albacore and Albacore No Salt Added contain 1,384 mg Omega 3 per 2 oz. serving which is about 140% of recommended daily value by the American Heart Association.
 Each two ounce serving contains 933 mg of DHA and 300 mg of EPA Omega 3. There are few foods on the planet that match this DHA content! No wonder it has been called a "foodceutical."

How wonderful it would be to be able to eat tuna again! I haven't had any for years because I became so appalled by fishing industry practices. The truth is that I just didn't research it much after that, I just stopped buying it. I had never even heard of pole and troll fishing before today.

{in the contest I am Margot Core on the Rafflecopter}

My family likes tuna and I never buy it because of all I read about tuna fishing practices. I really haven't done any research myself, it's good to know there is a good option out there.

I haven't ever researched the quality of store bought tuna and now I am concerned. I really like how Wild Planet is making healthy and sustainable options available for people who love tuna.
