Simply Choices Chips & Protein Bars Sponsor Spotlight Review

I have another awesome new company to tell you about that I added to my Green List of products. It is a company called Simply Choices by the Wellness Foods.  I love it when I run into new companies (to my blog) that I can add to my list of good companies that have good products and taste good and the prices are not outrageous!  I try to keep things from getting dull over here and I hope I have succeeded in bringing different things that some will need and some won't, but the beauty is, somebody somewhere wants to try them before they go to the store and buy them and they don't like them.
I don't know about you, but living on disability makes it hard and I can't afford to make a mistake and end up throwing food away so this way at least I know what to look for and I hope that I am helping you too make better choices and decisions so you don't throw hard earned money on something you don't like.
Here is what I was sent to review for the Honor the Earth Giveaway Event:
1.)  Cinnamon Pecan Protein Bar
2.)  Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Bar
3.)  Caramel Peanut Protein Bar
4.)  Lemon Coconut Protein Bar
5.)  Simply Protein Chips - Chili Flavor
6.)  Simply Protein Chips - Herb Flavor
I will start with the Simply Protein Chips first because I had to split my goodies up.  I didn't want to but knew my friend Lynette could do a good testing and give me her honest opinion on the 2 bags I gave her.
These are the Chili Flavor in the chips and after seeing the red chili's on the outside, I decided I better not attempt to eat them. As with all of my previous food reviews here the last week, I have disclosed that I was diagnosed with Acute Gastritis and I did not know that when I lined up my sponsors for the Green Earth Event, but in order to save the day and the review, I got my friend to do it for me and she is as honest as they come!
She loved them! And her brother came over for a visit and saw the chips and wanted to try some and even he loved them.  She also had him try the Herb Flavored ones and she said that that one was hers and her brother's favorite!  Especially when he found out they are loaded in protein. He works out a good bit and at the end of the month they are doing a fundraiser for Wounded Warrior's by having people sign up and go thru the course that is similar to a Ranger. It is called Xtreme Ranger.

We live in a town that has a Ranger training camp nearby and we hear the helicopters at all hours of the night. Anyway, he was going to see if he could find these at any of our stores or the next town over that is bigger so that these could be on hand for the people going thru the course.  They have been working on this course since last fall and one of his friend's donated the land and the others are doing the hard manual labor. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Fund. I was so excited that he thought they were that awesome that he would like it to be their re-fuel aid instead of a sugary Gatorade or any other sugar laden fuel.

Now comes my part. I kept the bars because all of the names sounded like they would be right up my alley, and by gosh they were! My favorite one was the Cinnamon Pecan Protein Bar.

It definitely had the cinnamon sugar down to a pat!  I didn't really taste the pecan because I was so amazed at how it was all held together. It was something sorta like rice krispies and that is what these reminded me of when I saw them. They are made with some kind of crispy rice and there isn't any flour in these bars which makes them so great as a diet tool or a gluten or wheat problem.

Each Simply Bar has 16g of protein, more fiber than sugar, and all under 160 calories. The perfect convenient snack for dieting, athletes, vegans, diabetics, and healthy eating. Our bars are gluten-free, all natural, vegan, kosher, low in fat and sugar, and under 12 ingredients (including non-GMO soy).

I was very surprised that this one was my 2nd best, but it almost was my first! I am not too fond of bars made with lemon but this had a really different and wonderful taste that just spoke to me for some reason. It too, was like the cinnamon bar, made entirely with the crispy cereal like things. I did not taste the coconut but maybe that is why the lemon is in there to knock out any of the tastes that might be unpleasant to us. This one was called the Lemon Coconut Bar.  If you love lemon pie or lemon anything, this is the one for you!

Then there is the Caramel Peanut flavor.  I could taste some caramel but this one actually tasted more like peanuts or peanut butter. All of the Simply Bars are made with those crispy things so that there isn't any flour in these bars at all or none that I could tell. Mike loved this one the best because he is a peanut butter fanatic but also because it just tasted better to him. It was actually more moist and chewy so I think that is why it stuck out to him.

With more fiber than sugar, the Simply Bar is easy to digest, gluten, and diary free. It is low in sugar and contains no sugar alcohols. All our bars are made with less than 12 ingredients, including soy crisps and organic brown rice syrup.

GOOD NEWS: The Simply Bar® has been certified as a NON-GMO product.

He also liked this one because of the Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor.  The classic combo - dark chocolate paired with natural peanut butter (no additives, sugar or oil). It's their best seller according to the company. If you really are into peanut butter the way Mike is, this will be your favorite and you won't be alone because they sell this one more than the others. All the bars are considered Low Carb Protein Snack.

Here is how the Simply Bars compare to other Protein Bars. Click on the link if you can't read this. I tried the best I could to get the words and numbers to show up as best I could.

Why should you want to try and switch over or start a protein bar regime? Well, here are a few answers:
We care about the ingredients we use. When creating The Simply Bar, one of our driving principles was simplicity – simple ingredients that are easy to digest, healthy, and delicious.

All ingredients are vegan, gluten, and dairy-free, and each bar is made with non-GMO soy crisps. We strive to use organic ingredients where possible, and all our cocoa bars are made with organic cocoa mass.

The Simply Bar was designed with a gastroenterologist so that even people with compromised digestion systems, like Crohn’s and colitis, can easily digest them. The key is in quality protein and a limited amount of slow release sugars.
If you suffer from IBS like I do, this is sorely needed to help me keep up with whatever protein I am not getting.  I have read several of the testimonies on their site and quite a few say the same thing.  Even though it is a protein bar and filled with fiber, it is the good fiber that helps you to go and then you can feel better.  I wish IBS was my only illness because I could deal with that a whole let less than I do now.

I am trying to do that by testing out natural, organic and sometimes gluten free or sugar free products.  I am doing that to see if all the chemicals in the breads and other high calorie, high sugar foods is the root of why they can't or don't know how to say just eat this or that.

They just tell me to eat more fiber, well the more fiber I eat, the more I bloat and then I feel like I am going to explode at any moment.  So, yes, for me, it is worth it to try and at least find some foods that I can tolerate and hopefully that will open the door to fix other things.

The winner of my Honor the Earth Giveaway that starts on March 9th and ends on the 22nd will get the same 4 bars and 2 bags of chips that I just reviewed. Open in the U.S. only. Good Luck Everyone!

We also like to try new healthy snacks, and I can't afford to throw away food either, thank you for your honest reviews. I like that the bars are made from non-GMO ingredients, this is a big deal to us and I hate that it's hard to identify foods that do use Gmo ingredients!

Great to hear about this line. With two people training for marathons around here we need all of the protein snacks that we can find!
