Newman's Own Organics Goody Package Sponsor Spotlight Review

Newman's Own Organic Black Tea is super awesome and I hope that you get to try it someday.  I love a good black tea to make as iced tea. Nell, Paul Newman's daughter, found Harris Tea Company which has been making tea for 67 years, to help in making their great tea. If you like tea in the morning instead of coffee, you will love this black organic tea. I drink tea all day long so when I say this is a great black tea that is saying alot.
I like the fact that it is organic and that the quality is good. They also make a green tea and I can't wait to try it sometime. For those of you who have big families, they make the family size tea bags in the black tea. You will love the Royal Tea from Newman's Own! These are the 3 kinds they have:
  • Organic Black Tea – 100 count of 2g double chamber tea bags in individual paper envelopes; suggested retail price, $3.99.
  • Organic Green Tea – 40 count of 2g double chamber tea bags in individual paper envelopes; suggested retail price, $2.99.
  • Organic Family Size Black Tea Bags – 22 count of 6.3g double chamber tea bags—perfect for preparing iced tea; suggested retail price, $2.99.
Family Recipe Cookies, has a new look to them and a new flavor they added that includes the familiar favorites Chocolate Chip, Orange Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Chip cookies, along with Oatmeal Chocolate Chip (7 oz.), Ginger Snap (6.5 oz.) and now Spelt Ginger Snap (6.5oz).
I haven't tried the new Spelt Ginger Snaps but if they are like all of the other cookies, they will be awesome. I think we all know what Ginger Snaps taste like sorta but I am not sure what the spelt means unless it's the ingredient that they made them with.
I can tell you that the one that took me by surprise the most was the Orange Chocolate Chip cookies. I thought, orange? really?, but then after eating about 2 of them, I knew that they would become one of my favorites. It's hard to describe and you really don't taste the orange that much because of the chocolate chips. And that is another thing, all of their cookies are filled to the hilt with whatever ingredient that they put in them.  So, there were lots of chips, just like I like them!
I also loved the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip because I have always been an Oatmeal kinda girl and love Oatmeal Raisin cookies, especially when they are still warm! I try to make all of my cookies at home soft and not hard.  Never had thought about putting chocolate chips in them and I think I will leave it that way so that Newman's Own has bragging rights on that one and when I want a bag, I will just go get one! No sense in baking if you can't make them any better than you can buy them.
I don't know if you have tried the other new thing at Newman's and that is the Sour Licorice. I don't care for regular licorice at all and never have and was a little concerned about the Sour Licorice as well, but when I opened the Sour Mango, it didn't taste like licorice at all! It was like a really sour chewy like candy that used to be made way back when I was a kid.
Not like gummies but somewhere in between that and licorice.  They have Sour Strawberry which was pretty good too, along with Sour Apple (which was Mike's favorite), Sour Black (still could not eat this one but my friend Lynette loved them so she got this one and the Pomegranate).  We all loved the Sour Cherry.
Organic mints in four flavors have been added to Newman's Own Organics' product line. The Cinnamon, Ginger, Peppermint and Wintergreen varieties are packed in eye-catching 1.76 ounce tins with colorful cover designs designating their flavor. They carry the USDA organic seal on the back ingredient panel.
This is actually the way I got to try the Organic Mints. I don't think they had the tins back when I first got my box of goodies so I don't know which way you will get yours either but it doesn't matter as they are the same, just in a different package.  I liked the Peppermint the best with the Spearmint coming in second.
The Ginger Mints were a tad too strong/spicy for my stomach as were the Cinnamon Mints so my friend Lynette got these as well.  She said she kept the Ginger ones for when she had an upset stomach and within minutes of taking them, she felt fine. So, it all worked out and everyone got something they liked!
This is what Nell has been quoted as saying about the Fig Newton Cookies:
Nell wanted to do a fig cookie for a long time. "Mom loves figs, so I grew up eating and enjoying them, and Dad was always a big Fig Newton fan," says Nell. "When we were doing research on figs we found there were a number of organic fig growers in California; we are delighted to be able to support these growers with our product."

All I can tell you is that if you love figs, these are gonna rock your boat! I love a good soft dough around my figs and Newman's Own Organic's delivers on that. I don't know why I love them now because when I was younger I couldn't stand the things but they have grown on me now and I love eating them from time to time.

Of course, it's not like a chocolate chip cookie that you could eat every day, I like them at certain times and then when I am done, I am done. But gosh, while I am eating them and in the right mood, there is nothing better, not even a chocolate chip cookie!

Fig Newmans™ are available in:
  • Fat Free
  • Low Fat
  • Wheat-Free/Dairy-Free
These cookies come in 10oz packages and can be found in natural food stores across the country. Like our other products, Fig Newman's are certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
I also wanted to give you just a tidbit of information on how they became what they are today:
Newman’s Own Organics was established as a division of Newman’s Own in 1993, and became a separate company in late 2001. Paul Newman has given over $200 million to thousands of charities worldwide since 1982
Newman's Own Organics has been so kind as to give the winner of the Honor the Earth Giveaway a sampler set of their Family Recipe cookies and a box of their awesome Black Tea along with a few other goodies. Because I don't know which cookies you will get, I sorta just touched on a few here and there. Newman's Own always adds a little more (a surprise) to their goodie packages so I don't know what else she might throw in there but it will be darn good!
It really doesn't matter which ones they are because they are all so very good! You will love them no matter what they are! Open to the U.S. only. Good Luck Everyone. The Giveaway starts on March 9th and ends on the 22nd. There will also be another one for Mother's Day that begins on May 1st and ends on the 18th.

Mary Bearden personally reviewed these products. I did not receive any monetary compensation for my review, just a sample product. All opinions are mine and belong to me solely. My thoughts and opinions may differ from yours.

I am not a fan of black licorice. I do like sour candy, so I'll have to try all of the Sour Licorice flavors.
