IMUSA Bistro Espresso Maker Review & Giveaway **Closed**

You are gonna love this totally awesome set! The only thing that sorta didn't work out was that by the time I got my set, the red cups and saucers were back ordered so I had to take the orange ones. So, that sorta doesn't go with anything, but then I decided that it gave my kitchen a sorta retro 1960's look and maybe that wasn't so bad after all! Both of these came from a company called IMUSA.

I do have to admit it took me a good while to figure out how to make espresso and then how to make latte's was a whole other venture! But, first let me show you the Espresso that was sent to use with this bad boy. It is called Cafe La Llave Espresso:

Here are the important features of the IMUSA Bistro Espresso Maker:

**Cup Capacity: 4 Capacity (volume): 4.0
**Cup Features: Removable Filter Basket
**On/Off Switch
**Glass Carafe
**Removable Drip Tray
**Indicator Light
**Milk Frother Material: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Rubber
**Finish: Metallic Includes: Removable Filter Basket, Glass Carafe
**Drip Tray

I have to tell you what interested me the most is the fact that you have to buy it from outside sources such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Sears, Walmart and various other options. When I hit online shops it was just about the same stores as I would have gotten if I shopped at the store. Well, I went to all of those stores and none of them had the red cups. I will keep checking and sooner or later I will get them or at least a blue or white set.

As for the IMUSA Bistro Espresso maker, it is truly and awesome espresso maker. I know we probably don't use it for what it was intended but we love to experiment. So, I make the espresso and then we divide it up and make our regular cup of coffee, then I add vanilla ice cream instead of creamer and chocolate sauce to make our own Mocha Iced Coffee drink.

I can't call it by it's real name because I don't want to make the fast food place that we sorta got the idea from mad, although, I don't think they use vanilla ice cream. I think they use actual crushed ice and then add the flavors, so I think we are safe but just to be on the safe side we are calling it Our Invention.

The other thing that Mike likes is latte's. We have made a few of those, especially Caramel since I have some caramel flavored syrup and hazelnut, so he has been going to town on the latte's! I think they are okay, I just really like a plain coffee with some flavoring and I will splurge and get my iced coffee drink at the store if I don't feel like making it at home.

The problem with making it at home is that Charlie, our Yorkie, loves vanilla ice cream and he knows the minute it comes out, he comes running from wherever he happened to be and makes a beeline right to me staring at me until I give him a spoonful of vanilla ice cream. It is his all time favorite treat. So, we save it for the heartworm pill or any kind of meds he might have to take. He really does love vanilla ice cream.

I think IMUSA has several other kinds of Espresso makers other than the one we got, but I really do like mine. Well, I take that back, they are calling mine a Bistro Espresso Maker and then there is a Espresso/Cappuccino Maker and lastly a Gourmet 4 Cup Espresso Maker with 1.2Qt Water tank.

So, I guess it does make a difference which one you get and what you expect from each one. But, we are lucky in that the things we like to drink, can be made on ours, so I don't fret the small stuff. And you will really love the Cafe La Llave Espresso. It makes a really smooth and great bold espresso that will have you thinking you can run the next marathon!

Gosh, IMUSA has so many more appliances and gadgets that are so vast, it would be impossible to list them here, just stop by and check it out. They have all kinds of kitchen helpers that will make your life so much more simpler and free you up to spend more time with your family or friends or both. I would love to have a Quesadilla maker next I think. We love those the most when going out to eat, that is what we order the most as either a meal or an appetizer.

Grabbed this little bit of history about IMUSA for you:

If you are like me, I would take them and then look later for the color you like and maybe use your set as a gift to someone who might like orange or white.  Open in the U.S. only. Good Luck!
