Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Secret to Happiness Book Review

I found another really cute little book called Hugo the Happy Starfish - The Secret to Happiness book written by Suzy Libermann. It's a great little book about teaching children how to be happy and here is a brief description of the book:
Meet HUGO – a little starfish with a BIG HEART. His passion is to make others happy but he still has many things to learn. Fortunately he has more than just a big heart, he also has a CURIOUS MIND.
Through his adventures, Hugo learns many valuable lessons of character, life skills, and ecological alertness — all against the colorful backdrop of a magical underwater world and mystical islands.
Join Hugo on his journey as he discovers that having the right attitude is the best way to be — and the only way to be truly happy.
Thru the Hugo The Starfish Books, the author hopes to teach us how to teach our children and actually maybe oursevles, too, what it means to have a compassionate heart.
Here is what Suzy Libermann hopes we will learn:
Believing that happiness can be learned, feelings can be understood, and that building character based on a positive attitude leads to a happy, content, successful and confident human being, Suzy Liebermann has written this charming series of children’s books to help educate children about their feelings, their attitudes, their choices, and the consequences that follow.

In Hugo, children, parents, and educators will discover a lovable and engaging role model with whom they can identify.

She has a website that is devoted to all kinds of teaching methods such as games and worksheets that the children can go to and there are even coloring books you can dowload. I also found a section where they can teach you Spanish thru using Hugo. It sounds like this site has been carefully planned and thought out. I think the games are awesome and are definitely meant for someone who has better computer skills than me.

I was gonna play one of the games but having to use the keyboard and other buttons on it, I am all thumbs and never really did get into playing all those video games either when I was younger, so I am at a handicap now. But the kids today, are totally awesome as they know exactly what to do and are more attuned to computers than we ever thought of being.

I thought I would let you know that her books have been listed under this awesome award, so that it will make you feel better and more willing to let your children read her books and see what all she has in store for them.

This sounds like a very good book. There are days when my littles could use some help with having the right attitude, and this would be a wonderful series to turn to. Thanks for the great review!

This looks like a great book! I really like the additional activities--especially when a book becomes a favorite it's nice to have another way to encourage child interaction with it.
