Being single and working 2 jobs, one during the day and then one at night, I barely had time to change into my nighttime uniform so I didn't have much time to eat. So, on Sundays I would make me the biggest pot of rice I had and then all I had to do was heat it up and throw whatever beans, corn or salsa on top and that is what I had almost every night. I did the salsa with some sour cream mixed in to try and give it that mexican rice flavor and it worked pretty well at the time.
Course, I don't know now if that is what caused my acid reflux later in life and then the I.C. (chronic bladder pain) because one of the things that sets off an I.C. attack is acid foods like tomatoes, so who knows. Although the urologist says it's the high inflammation in my body due to the RA that is really causing me all these attacks and pain.
Sometimes, though, you just wonder if what you ate earlier in life affects you when you get older. But with my new 20 cup Rice Cooker, I can make as much rice as I want, just can't add tomatoes!
Here is some of the finer points of this awesome kitchen helper:
**Perfectly prepares 4 to 20 cups of cooked rice
**Easy-to-use digital controls for White Rice, Brown Rice, Slow Cook, Steam, Keep-Warm and Programmable 15-Hour Delay Timer
**Steams vegetables and cooks rice simultaneously
**Programmable Slow Cook sets from 2 to 10 hours for deliciously tender meals
**Nonstick inner cooking pot removed for quick cleanup
**Includes steam tray, measuring cup and serving spatula
I went ahead and copied this part that describes what they mean by Cool Touch because it had me a little baffled at first also. I hope this helps explain it and if not, they have a whole section devoted to explaining each step of the new Rice Cooker's on their site:
Cool-Touch rice cookers are just that - cool to the touch. The inner pot and steam tray are housed within the cool-touch unit, which remains cool to touch even during the cooking cycle.
The benefits of Cool-Touch cookers don't end there. The hinged lid seals in moisture and steam for fluffier rice. The locking lid also allows the cooker to become portable once the rice has finished; transforming it into an ideal serving vessel (and also leaving one less dish to be washed once the meal is done).
Many of these rice cookers also come with advanced features such as a Delay Timer, Digital Controls, Sensor Logic™, Brown Rice Functionand the list goes on. Just look how long this section is.
So, this really is like learning how to cook all over again with another new gadget but I think once I get used to all of the ways that this awesome rice cooker can do, I think it will become my new go to best friend in the kitchen. I can't wait to see what other awesome things I can do with this new Rice Cooker from Aroma.
So, Thanks Aroma for the best new kitchen appliance that I have been looking for but didn't know until later, but I would rather be later than to not have one at all!
Aroma has so many more different kitchen wonders that I could stay online in their store for hours looking at all the cool gadgets that they have! Gosh, they have Pressure Cookers, Coffee Makers, Ice Cream Makers, Deep Fryers, Hot Plates, Toasters and Kettles to name a few. I used to want to learn how to can veggies and such but now that my hands don't work right, I have given that idea up.
But, I will find something else I would love to have from Aroma before it's all done and said for. I know Mike would love a Deep Fryer but that is out of the question. He eats enough of that junk while eating out every day with the guys, he sure isn't getting it at home too! Now, the ice cream maker or Hot Plates or even a Toaster might be in order since we don't have any of those. I used to have a toaster until we got the Toaster Grill and it seemed kinda dumb to have them both, but it doesn't toast bread the right way and if you eat toasted bread, you know the difference right away!
So, it looks like Aroma and their products are the way to go because they have such a wide selection of things to choose from. But, first I will have to make sure I have mastered all the ways to use the rice cooker before I set off on something else. Need to make sure I don't miss something in learning how to cook with it. I think having the Rice Cooker is gonna help make our meal times much more pleasurable in the future. So, we owe Aroma a huge Thanks and an even better look see at what all I can do once I get it down pat, I will let you know.

The awesome folks at Aroma have been kind enough to offer one winner a Rice Cooker either like mine or similar. I noticed that it says the one I had gotten is on back order so you may or may not get the exact same rice cooker, but they really do have a vast array of choices. Open to the continental U.S. only. Good Luck!
