Sencha Green Tea Shot Review

You guys know how much I love my tea and I have reviewed Ito En Tea's before and this time I have 2 new products to tell you about called Sencha Green Tea Shots and one of the other flavors is in the Oolong Flavor, which is milder than the Sencha Green Tea Shot.

Both are good for you and very healthy. Green Tea has always been healthy for us and I try to drink a few cups a day and now with these new shots, you can get more bang for the buck!
Instead of your usual morning coffee, they recommend SENCHA SHOT, the Japanese equivalent of an espresso shot - highly antioxidant green tea in a can. You’ll find this tasty beverage quick, strong, invigorating and healthy!
With 152 millgrams of the powerful tea polyhenol-Catechin, this green tea has depth of flavor, body, and a robust mouthful. Even espresso-lovers will become fans. For a milder flavor, try their Oolong Shot.
They are offering a discount to my reader's so that you may enjoy and get the healthy benefits of the teas also! Just use these promo codes.
Promo code for 20% off for my readers only - use promo code: NewU13

Promocode is also good for the Oolong Shot, and the Fiber Shot.

All ITO EN Shots here: https://www.itoen.com/ito-en-shot.html

Did you make any health wise resolution promises for the New Year? I try to and sometimes I can keep them and sometimes I can't. Depends all on what is going on with my health and the pain issues.  I try to be practical and know the limits of my ability to succeed. I think this year I will err on the side of caution and say these will be my 5 hopefully successful resolutions for this coming year, 2013:

1.)  Move around more than I have been
2.)  Eat better than I have been
3.)  Get on my stationary bike more than I have been
4.)  Take my vitamins on a more regular basis
5.)  Try not to stress too much about things I can't change

I know these may not sound like big things to most of you, but for me, they are. First, because of the I.C. issue (chronic bladder pain) I really have to watch which products have potassium in them. And unfortunately, alot of good healthy foods are loaded in potassium. Just check your labels the next time you are shopping and you will see how bad my dilemma is.

The rest are fairly easy to do and I should have been doing them already but I must admit I have been on a pity party for myself and have given in some to the whole thing and figured what's the point?  And I still may be there a little bit but I am trying my best to claw my way back and I will try harder in the next few weeks to shake some of it off and get back to being the "old me" instead of the "me" you have been seeing for the last week or so.

I wish I could do yoga but with both knee's replaced, I would have a very hard time being as limber as this young lady is doing her routine. But if you can do yoga, they say it is very relaxing!

As far as the Sencha Shots here is what benefits you get from each can:
  • Contains 152 mg of Catechin Tea Antioxidants per 6.4 fl oz can - 5 times more than the average ready-to-drink green tea based on the USDA Database for the Flavonoid Content of Selected Foods
  • All Natural
  • Unsweetened, No Calories
  • Vitamin C # No Added Color or Flavors
  • No Genetically Modified Ingredients
  • Brewed from Premium Loose Tea Leaves
  • Imported from Japan

  • Each Oolong Shot contains the same as the Sencha and the only difference is:

Recharge and renew with this bold-tasting shot of polyphenols powered by Oolong Tea. Oolong, traditionally called Blue Tea, is a dynamic balance between green tea and black tea. Oolong Shot is made from premium whole loose tea leaves.

Now, because I wasn't sure how powerful both of these were, I had Mike take them to work to drink when he needed some extra energy to get thru the rest of the day. I did that because Mike does not take any meds except for his acid reflux and is on no other prescription meds and these would not interfere with any of them. He said that they worked like magic! He drank them about midday when he felt his energy going and he said that shot got him all the way to home. I don't know if it would have bothered me or not but if you are like me and take a good bit of meds, and want to try these, I would ask your doctor first.

I forgot to do that the last time I went so when I go on the 11th for my first procedure, I will ask him if taking shots of caffeine like these would hurt me or not.  I do take meds for rapid palpitations so he might say no way. That was my real concern and did not even think about that when I agreed to review. So, from now on, I need to think better before I accept reviews. It was my fault and no one else's but I still got it done by letting Mike try them and he really liked them.
We may be getting more of them because he said it sure did help when he felt like he was not gonna make it til the end of the day and then within 30 minutes of drinking one of the green tea shots, he was able to get a second wind, he thought that they would be better for him than taking those other quick shot drinks that hold no value other than giving you energy.
And I agree, those other quick energy shots do nothing health wise other than give you that extra energy.  Mike is not the best eater, either, so I know he is not getting the health benefits that he needs. I wish I could break him from eating out every single day with the guys but he won't stop! They eat all kinds of God knows what every day for lunch! Do you know what is in Green Tea? Or the benefit's that you get from them?

Well, I found this article on Ito En's site and thought I would share it with you to help give you a push in the right direction:

Following new scientific developments, research into the health effects of green tea has advanced significantly. Studies have shown that green tea is made of several main components that contribute to its character: catechins (texture), caffeine (bitterness), and theanine (flavor), as well as various vitamins and minerals.

Present in large quantities of green tea, catechins (including EGCG) are a type of polyphenol that is also a component of red wine. Catechins also give green tea its signature texture, and as a potent antioxidant, hinders dangerous free radicals in the body. Caffeine gives green tea its bitter taste, while increasing alertness, and relieving fatigue. Theanine, an amino acid, gives green tea its taste and acts as a mild relaxant.

Theanine helps to relieve the jittery effect that caffeine can sometimes produce in sensitive individuals. This makes it a great alternative to coffee which not only has higher levels of caffeine, but does not contain theanine to regulate the unpleasant physical side effects. These are the main research properties included in green tea. Green tea contains a well-balanced mix of these ingredients.

Oolong Tea's have great health benefit's also:

Oolong Teas are unique because they span an oxidation range of 20-80%, where some are closer to green teas, and others are more similar to black teas. Caffeine levels vary accordingly, where greener oolongs will have less caffeine content and darker oolongs will have higher caffeine content.

Oolong teas, because they have higher oxidation levels than green tea, will also have lower catechin levels, although catechins are still present. However, although catechins decrease with oxidation, theaflavin and thearubigin levels increase.

These polyphenols may help in defending the body against stroke, dementia, heart disease and cancer. In addition to this, oolong teas have long been believed to aid in digestion, so have a cup with or after your next meal.

I found this under the About Us section:
ITO EN (North America) Inc. was founded in May 2001 with the mission of introducing ITO EN's line of green tea products and establishing a culture and interest in authentic green tea in the United States and beyond.

The product line functions as the centerpiece of ITO EN (North America) Inc. for it upholds ITO EN's principles of Natural, Safe, Healthy, Well-Designed, and Delicious. The product was first introduced through wholesale distribution in New York City and the Tri-State area.

    Truly's Natural Deodorant Review

I have another awesome product that is natural to use and doesn't have any harmful chemicals in it and that is Truly's Natural Deodorant! The first thing I thought when I twisted off the cap and smelled it was that is smelled similar to coconut. Then, when I read it had Coconut Oil in it, it all made sense. If I am gonna have to smell like something natural, then coconut is a pretty darn good scent to have!

As you can see from the above picture, it lists what some of the natural ingredients are in Truly's and the Coconut Oil is right there. Unlike many natural deodorants, Truly's is not the least bit gummy or sticky, and will not leave a waxy buildup on clothing over time. Truly's goes on smooth and silky, leaving skin soft and needs no drying time. I really appreciated that because that has been a sticking point with me in the past.

I don't like to have any spots on my clothes whether from deodorant or perfume sprays so I was glad that I saw no evidence of that when I used it, especially when we went to my husband's parents on Christmas Day.  They keep it really warm in there and because of my meds, I get hot alot anyway, so being in a very warm room, I knew I was in trouble. My hair on my neck got wet and I had to pull it up and hold it for a few until my neck felt cool again. I double checked the underarms area and Thank Goodness no wet spots showed, so Truly's Deodorant was holding up nicely.

I did have to remind Mike around 4 pm that we needed to go because it takes 2 hours to get home and I don't like driving or riding at night, especially in the fog. It had been foggy all day Christmas here in North Georgia because of the mountains, so it was a slow go going there and getting back home but at least my Truly's Deodorant held up under all that pressure.

Truly's does have a Money Back Guarantee and here is a few things to help you get used to using a natural deodorant and if these still don't seem to work for you, then please, do use the Money Back Guarantee!
Be sure to wear clean clothing daily while testing our product. Truly's will keep your clothing from smelling while you are wearing them, but after a couple of days back in the drawer, they will smell of body odor if not washed.
The money back guarantee applies to the first, single unit order per customer and we refund the purchase price only. We are sorry that we can not refund the shipping cost.
Our guarantee applies to purchases from our website only, not to purchases in local stores as each store has different policies.
The only natural ingredients you will find in Truly's Natural Deodorant:

  • Organic coconut oil
  • Powdered sugar (Sugar, cornstarch)
  • Baking soda
  • Beeswax

  •
I loved their site and couldn't help but laugh at the old fashion cartoons as advertising tools. When was the last time you saw one of these? Anyway, I grabbed some just for some good old fashion laughter and to remember the good ole days when they didn't use Hollywood Movie Stars to sell everything. I am gonna sound a little off but I for one don't buy any products that use any Movie Stars to sell their products!

If you can't stand on your own two feet and sell a product without paying someone who already makes millions, then you really don't need my business. You must be making pretty good money to pay them. Do you remember when it used to be real people or at least models who got the commercials? Now, it has to be a high end dollar star.  Well, this is one person that does not care which star endorses what. I buy what I like regardless of whether a star likes it or not. Okay, I am off the soap box now.

But, seriously, if you are into natural products, this is one product you should definitely look up and read about it and see if it is something that you think you might like to try. Since blogging, I have found more natural products that I did not know even existed and I am so very grateful that I did because all of those chemical filled products have got to go!

I don't know what brought on all my health issues and I certainly can't lay blame with anyone or anything, it's just a fact of life, but now that I do have health issues and because the RA meds lower my immune system, I do read labels now and try to use the most healthy products I can find. Having your immune system comprised is a serious thing and I even have to be careful not to be around people who have colds. I did have to take a flu shot and a pneumonia shot, so I think I will be okay on that front.

Here is some other reason's why I choose natural now and why I think Truly's will be a good fit:

Could there be harmful effects from using antiperspirants?

Ingredients in "regular" deodorants and antiperspirants have been linked to everything from Alzheimer's disease and breast cancer to dermatitis and allergic reactions. There is a great deal of information out there on deodorant ingredients and we have cited a number of studies on our "Why Use a Natural Deodorant?" page. Here is a list of ingredients in other deodorants that we believe do not belong on your skin.

What is NOT in Truly's Natural Deodorant:
    • Aluminum
    • Propylene glycol
    • Parabens
    • Triclosan
    • Steareth-n
    • Phthalates
We package our deodorant in BPA-free and PVC-free food safe containers.

They have several ways you can buy their deodorant, either in single jars, six packs, or in 5 small sample packs, which would make great travelling sizes that you can stick in your handbag so that you have one with you at all times. Never know when you might need one! Oh, by the way, each container should last about two weeks to a month with daily use.  They are 1/2 ounce size jars.

The ones above of course, are the regular sizes but are the ones that you can buy in packs of 6 if you have a large family or just like to stock up. And that brings up another topic. If you are stocking up, you will want to know this info:
Because of the low melting point of coconut oil, Truly's Natural Deodorant will soften if exposed to high temperatures for extended periods of time. This does not harm the product and it will solidify when returned to a cooler temperature. Works great at any temperature or consistency!

This brings up another point. They also have natural deodorants for children, so no need to worry. Truly's Natural Deodorant is a great deodorant for kids, and is an effective, safer alternative to conventional deodorants/antiperspirants for children. Truly's is so safe that all the ingredients are edible.

Truly's works to prevent odor without exposing kids to potentially harmful chemicals. Truly's Natural Deodorant is kid friendly and easy to apply. It does not stain clothing and washes out without a trace. It does not sting and can even be applied right after shaving (unlike mineral products). It is also fragrance free and gets its wonderful smell from organic coconut oil. Truly's is a great deodorant for kids. Trust your kids to Truly's...we do!

I also am glad to know that it is safe for people with sensitive skin issues. Since there are only 3 natural ingredients in Truly's, there is no need to worry about having any issues with your skin if you have sensitive skin. There is no unknown chemicals or fragrances to worry about so you will feel safe using their deodorant.

Found this in the About Us section:
Truly's Natural Products is a small, home based business run by the Collison family in Harrington, Delaware. Angela Collison started the business due to growing demand for the natural deodorant that she was making for her friends and family.
Prompted by a personal health crisis and a desire to reduce her family's exposure to chemicals, Angela began researching natural ingredients and, after much experimentation, developed Truly's Natural Deodorant. Both the company and the product are named after the youngest Collison daughter, Truly Mae.
We are a small, family business doing our best to balance work and family life. We hope to provide a valuable service in supplying an effective, healthy alternative to conventional deodorants/antiperspirants at a fair price.
We are located in the small town of Harrington, Delaware, and started making Truly's Natural Deodorant in 2010. This is our first year selling our product in our online shop.

The Sand Art Secret Book Review

I have another lovely book to tell you about for children called The Sand Art Secret written by Kevin Collier. This book is really more about the pictures than a story. It is the artwork that you will find amazing and they have a whole slew of other books that go with this one.

I hope that you will go thru some of the pages on Amazon and on their site to see what this is all about. The story itself is simple and not very complex.

    It is about:

Torrie, the Tiny Sea Turtle is doing something in the sand and it is driving Wally the Whale nuts trying to figure out what!

"The Sand Art Secret!" is their first Kindle book and they are SUPER excited about it!! They originally did this story for their TV show based on their undersea characters, so have a lot of supplemental materials, in the links below. It's the first in their new Whispering Wally book series, which were stories we did for our show. So, with all the supplemental materials, they have a lots of freebies for parents and kids, so it's more than just a book!

They also made a video of this story: http://www.truli.net/exclusively-on-truli-whispering-wally-in-the-sand-art-secret

Wally Whale is the host of their kid's page: http://www.tangerineskyproductions.com/Products.html

What Daddy Did Today Book Review

I have something new to talk about today that I normally don't do on book reviews and that is a child's book that was written by a man! Yes, you heard me right. What Daddy Did Today was written by Walter Wally and I must confess, I absolutely don't know what happened, but I forgot all about this great little book and just realized I had not put up a post. So, Mr. Wally, I sure do apologize!

It has been a doozy of a month for me and with the holidays throw in the mix, well, it just hasn't been my finest hour, I must admit.  I fell behind on alot of things, not just yours, if that helps any.  I did not mean to nor did I set out to not review several items, it just got lost in the vast world of  Mary's Pending Folder for reviews and giveaways. Yes, I have an actual folder to help me remember, but the thing is, if you don't look at it, then it does no good!!

So, I hope I have successfully made all of you laugh at me and with me, because I sure could use a good one right about now! I am gonna be eating crow alot in the next few days as I apologize all over the place to several sponsors but I am hoping that if you read my post about why all this happened, it will all make sense to you.

Now, on to the book, What Daddy Did Today. I think it is a brilliant idea because it dawned on me that we all hear about what Mom does at work and even have Take Daughter to Work Days and so they know all about what you do, but how many really understand what Dad does? I do know that alot more attention has been given to this subject lately, more so than in the past, which is a good thing, but if you could get this book for your child to read ahead of time, it will prepare them in understanding why Dad needs to get recognized also.

Here is what Mr. Wally wrote about his book:

What Daddy Did Today is a bedtime story for a father to read to his child. When I was a kid, I would always wonder where my father went when he left the house for work every morning. What did he do? Who was he with? Why would it take so long?

Of course, I learned later that Dad was just going to the office every day. But my imagination, up to that point, told me differently. I imagined my dad traveling to space, fighting dragons, and hitting home runs while he was away “at work.”

So, this is a story that, as a kid, I would have loved to hear my dad tell. And now, as a grown man and future dad, it’s also a story that I would love to tell my son or daughter before they go to sleep. Because, although the story is filled with fun and adventure, ultimately, it is about how much Daddy loves his kid. I hope you enjoy it.

    About the Author:

Walter Wally was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. At an early age, Walter discovered that he loved to tell rhyming stories. One of Walter’s fondest memories is sitting in his basement as a young boy, and creating his first rhyming story to explain why the walls would creak.

If memory serves, I think Frankenstein had something to do with it. Anyway, if anything can turn Walter into a kid again, it’s telling stories that people enjoy. Walter writes rhyming stories for adults as well, and is available for all kinds of readings and events.

You can contact Walter Wally at: escoto@ufl.edu. or at his website. You can also buy the book here.

I truly did enjoy the lighthearted and much needed book that lets our children in on just what exactly does Dad do? Of course, I realize that there is also some children out there who don't even know what Mom does either, so I think in order to solve both problems, it is necessary for both parents to sit down one night and have a family discussion about what each person does during their work day or school day.

In order to make it fair and more interesting to the children, I think including them in the discussion would make more sense to them if they explained how their day went also. This way, everyone comes away feeling like they matter and that their day is important to the whole family.  I think to really let the matter sink it and stay there, maybe it should be a weekly thing or a monthly thing, whichever works best for everyone.

I, for one, am glad that Mr. Wally brought the matter to my attention because it has put all kinds of new idea's into my head. I hope that once you and your family read his book that you will have some UHAH! moments yourself. You may even have some better suggestions than what I just came up with. If you do, share them so that we can all learn from this experience.

Thanks Mr. Wally for letting us know how your day went!

CoverGirl's Blast FlipStick's New Colors Review

I know that everyone knows who and what Covergirl is but have you heard or seen the latest new lip product called BlastFlipstick? Wow, does it pack a punch and a half! I got 3 shades to try and they were:

    1.)  Vixen (#820)
    2.)  Minx (#855)
    3.)  Stunner (#840)

I am more along the light beige/light pink/light browns so I liked Minx the best because it had that brownish mischief color to me. There are actually 13 shades to choose from! Wow! And each BlastFlipStick has two colors, one on each end of the stick for you to use. One side is the Shimmer and the other side is the Cream shade and you can blend them together so that you can create unique and totally YOU shades that fit your personality!

Not sure which color this one represents but at least it gives you the close up look at what they should be like.  As you can see, the bottom part is the Shimmer and the top part is the cream shade. You can outline with one and then use one to fill in the middle parts or you can go totally Shimmer or totally Cream! Isn't it nice to finally have a choice in the matter about your lips? Isn't it refreshing to be able to mix and match and work wonders on your lips all by yourself?

I was hoping that these pictures would come out better so that you can see the colors but they all sorta look the same, don't they? Believe me, they are not! One is a dark brown/shimmer color, one is a wine looking color with a lighter pink on the other end and the third one is like a peach looking color and then a bright red color.  So, they actually gave me a broad range of colors to choose from but I pretty much stay with browns, beiges and shimmers. I am too pale looking for most red colors or even peach colors wash me out.

Okay, this is the one I used the most, the Minx because it is two opposite colors of browns/shimmers!

I believe this one is the Vixen, which is a pinkish color on one end and a wine color on the other.

This is the one called Stunner with an orangish color on one end a red color on the other.  This one might go to a friend who uses these colors because these do not look good on me at all. I do love a beautiful red polish on my toes and nails but not on my lips. I look like I died and became a vampire when I try to wear any color of reds. So, it's not Covergirl's fault that this one did not work for me, it would have been that way for any brand in this color.

I was able to finally get the Covergirl site to let me grab a picture and I think I found the perfect Blast FlipStick for me, Snap! That is the two colors above and they match pretty much what I wear on a regular basis. These are my go to colors! Wow! I sure do wish I had gotten this one! I would have worn it every single day.
This one is called Whisper and I would have loved this one also! I guess you see a pattern emerging here and that is that I like soft colors leaning towards beige and browns. Lastly, I found another one pretty close to what I would wear and that is Smooch, which is below.

I hope I was able to give you some idea's on what the colors are for the new Blast FlipSticks. There are more for you to look at on Covergirl's site so go and take a look at the other colors that I did not show here.  I showed you 6 colors in all and there are 7 more on their site. Have fun looking and comparing!

    Afrin Nasal Spray Review

If you have ever had congestion so bad that it was literally hard to breathe, then you should either seek help from your Ear Nose and Throat doctor or at least try some Afrin Nasal Spray while waiting for your appointment. I am always a little hesitant to do medicines because I don't want someone to accidently hurt themselves or have an allergic reaction to something, so I always urge you to double check with your primary doctor before taking anything over the counter. It may contain some ingredients that trigger allergic reactions with your prescribed medicines.

I have actually had that happen and so has Mike, so we are always careful to tell you that, even if you think it's mundane or don't feel you need to, I put it here for a reason. I am trying to look out for you and your health and don't want anything to happen to you on my watch.

Aside from that, Afrin can and will unblock those nasal passages for you! Just be careful and only take according to the package as it is slightly addictive so you don't want to use it too often. If that happens, please tell your doctor that the relief you got from Afrin was so good that you kept taking it and now can't seem to live without it. Mike did that one time so I know what will happen. Boy, was he cranky for about a week or so before he leveled out!

Afrin can actually provide you with 12 hours of relief and it really does do that! I don't have a whole lot of problems with sinus's except in the Spring and that is more seasonal than sinus. I am allergic to Ragweed and Dust Mites, which you know is hard as heck to get rid of! I had to get a special air purifier and keep it running so that it catches the dust mites and their dander and sucks it up.

We also had to put mattress protectors on our beds and on our pillows. Nothing you can do about bedding really except keep them washed in hot water at least once a week to kill them. I also use a powder on the carpet that kills them and then I suck them up with the vacuum. There is alot of work that goes into getting rid of or at least getting comfortable living with Dust Mites.

But, with sinus problems, there really isn't much you can clean up or wash up to help with that, so in some instances, I think Mike has it worse than I do.  He is constantly taking something for his breathing, so believe me, we know how it is to need something that works. Just be aware of how many times you are using it and that you don't go over the allotted times it says to use.  Taking too much can cause your nose to bleed as Mike found out the hard way!

He says it does burn a bit going in but not for long, just a quick instant then it's gone. He says that the relief is worth that little bit of burning and as long as it is within the guidelines, then you are okay. But if you are taking more than what it says, and your nose is bleeding, then please tell your doctor so he can figure out what the problem is. Okay?

I think that is why you get such a little bottle when you buy it over the counter. They try to help you not use it more than is stated and that really is the actual size of the bottle. Not much to look at, is there? But, because I know that it's there for your protection, I leave the size alone, because in this instance, I agree with them. Until you see how you do and how much you need to get by in the course of the day, it is best not to have more than what you really need.

Good Luck and I hope that you get as much help and relief as Mike has and that it continues to improve for you. If you have any questions, feel free to check online with Afrin or call your Ear Nose and Throat doctor and ask them about your concerns. There is a really cute video on their main page, so when you get a chance, go over and watch it!

    Private Selections Holiday Foods Review

I don't know if you guys shop at Kroger or not but I have a group of foods that is made from Kroger's Private Selection that are truly awesome and you will love them as much as I do if you would give them a chance. I got some really awesome foods to try and here they are:

    **Garlic Stuffed Olives
    **Classic Water Crisps
    **Herbed Cheese Slices
**Napoletana Roasted Garlic Sauce (Spaghetti Sauce)
**Bag of Coffee called Costa Rican Tarrazu

We had a ball trying some of the cheeses with the crackers and olives! I had them with some friends along with some white wine and we all agreed that these crackers and cheese went great together.

I have to tell you that the Private Selection Herbed Cheese was super awesome! We are a cheese loving family so this was really a no brainer. Mike loves olives and garlic so it was a no brainer to get the stuffed olives with garlic.  Then just add some white wine or if you are a red wine person, that is fine also. We did this as an appetizer then we all went out to eat dinner. This saved us a bundle by not having to order apps at the restaurant along with the cost of a glass of wine, too!

And this is the Garlic Stuffed Olives we used:
Now, I did make Spaghetti one night but in the haste of getting it made so we could finish wrapping presents and get the tree up, I forgot to take a quick picture of the sauce but here is what it looks like in the jar:
I do add mushrooms, onions, garlic, green peppers and one red or yellow pepper to any sauce that I use along with some more oregano and other Italian spices.  We love for our sauces to be thick, not runny, so I really load that sauce up with veggies out the wahzoo!
Now, you will really love this coffee! It is a wonderful mixture of a medium/dark coffee that is crisp and slightly bold. We really love this coffee with Hazelnut creamer but it is just as good with plain creamer. I have used both and loved it no matter which one I used. This is one awesome coffee that you can feel good about serving your guests a cup of coffee before going home with a great dessert.
Now, the only coupons that I did not use were the Greek Yogurt ones due to the fact that they have potassium in the yogurt and because of my chronic bladder pain called I.C. is caused by too much potassium, so unfortunately, I have to limit my intake of potassium.  In the past, before I knew about my I.C. and that it had potassium, I used to love getting yogurt becawisuse it helped me in my fight to keep calories down and helped me in my diet. So, just because I can't eat the yogurt, I still support anyone who wishes to buy it because it really is good! I sure do miss it!
I love shopping at Kroger knowing that I can trust their Private Selections brand to be just as good as the national brand on many different products and beverages. Once you give them a try, I think you will agree that they really do have an awesome selection of gourmet and regular foods to sample.
I do have to admit that I love the new cheese section in my Kroger because it is stocked with so many different flavors and brands of cheeses that it makes my head spin sometimes just trying to figure out which ones to try next! Too bad they don't have samples of the cheeses beside the ones that are packaged up. If I could sample them, I bet I would be more willing to buy them. Unfortunately, cheese is one of those items that is expensive and not knowing if you will like the flavor or not, it makes it hard to justify spending that money and then learning you don't like it.
But, other than that small glitch, I think I have a pretty good Kroger that I can rely on to have great tasting food and knowing that it is fresh is a big plus!
Try them out sometime for a quick appetizer before a meal whether it is at home or you are going out to dinner, either way, you will save some money that you can use on other more important things. I believe that once you try their Private Selection's brand, you will feel more comfortable knowing you are getting the same high standard of quality foods or beverages that you got from your national brand.

Oh, and don't forget to download your electronic coupons to your Kroger card so that they will be deducted from your amount at the cash register. I usually try to keep up with those on my account online, but sometimes, I do forget that they are there and I am sure alot of them have expired before I forgot. But, if you use them, they sure will help you cut costs on even more products so you will see instantly how much you saved at the end!

Good Luck Shopping at Kroger for your Private Selection's favorites!

Ateevia Botanica's Prime Anti-Inflammatory Cream Review

I seem to be on a roll with the pain meds and creams but when you suffer the way I have and Mike also, well, we will try just about every thing that is available to us in the hopes of something helping to get us off of the pain meds, well, me mostly, Mike just does the shots in his back. I have RA and Fibromyalgia along with several other health related issues and with those other issues, no creams or supplements will help those, but with Fibromyalgia it can provide some relief.

RA is a whole other matter though. Even the RA injections I get are hitting a brick wall these days. I just started a new one called Cimzia yesterday and I am not a happy camper! I was not told that it would be 2!! shots in my tummy!! Yes, you read that right, I got 2 shots in my tummy yesterday and boy, did that stir the IBS up! I had a swollen and unhappy colon and tummy all night. I barely was able to eat some mashed potatoes.

And the worse part is I have to do it again in 2 weeks! Then again in another 2 weeks after that! But, once I reach that quota, it goes to 2 shots a month. I can either do them both at once or spread them out 1 every 2 weeks. Haven't made my mind up yet, will have to wait and see how bad I react to the next 2 shots!

Anyway, back to Ateevia, Mike used it at night to help with his sleeping and he said he did seem to rest better. Unfortunately, with the kind of work he does, it did not help much during the day. But to be honest, nothing else has either, except for the TENS unit he wears. I felt a little relief on my ankles and knees for a little while but then it was right back again. Nothing helps with the swelling, not even the powerful prescription meds.

This is actually my 9th different RA shot/infusion. I think there is only one more left and then I am toast! They work for a few months and sometimes 9 to 12 months but then the inflammation goes up high and that crashes the meds. My body is building up antibodies faster than the meds can work is my understanding of the way it was explained to me.

So, I really can't fault Ateevia or any other creams right now. I am in a stage where nothing will help until I get that inflammation down, then these creams do help some with the minor aches and pains. So, I can tell you that. If you have just regular OA and not RA, then this will give you some relief. Even with the Fibromyalgia, it will help in certain areas.
Now, everyone is different and I can only speak for Mike and me, but when my RA is under control, I am able to use some creams and it will help me to stay a little more limber and will help me move around better. But if I am in full attack mode with RA and Fibromyalgia, then all bets are off. Don't know which one is worse since they both attack at the same time and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Mike has been taking the Ateevia Prime with him to work and putting a little on here and there. Not a whole lot because he does have to have contact with customers at times and doesn't need to be smelling like a medicine cabinet. Some people are very strange, I have to tell you. He comes home with some of the craziest stories about what will set people off and I am thinking, wow, if I was healthy, I would not begrudge anyone getting some help, even if the smell was less than pleasant.

At least you don't have to live with it daily, for goodness sake! So, when he smelled the Ateevia, he was excited because it did not have that really strong medicine chest smell. He does still have to use his TENS unit in the places he can't reach with the cream but at night I will rub his back down pretty good and he has been sleeping better.

So, for someone like Mike, this cream will work. But for someone like me with really bad chronic pain, it might take the edge off, but I still have to take my pain meds. But to be fair, I have had to say that with just about everything we have tried over the counter or at health stores. So, it's not their fault that I have stubborn pain that just won't let anything work! Sometimes, I get so discouraged. I do have muscle relaxers and at those times I take them and just take a nap. Sleeping it off is sometimes the only way I can make it. I know I don't get much done if I have to keep taking naps during the day and night, but I have to in order to keep my sanity.

So, if you have just minor aches and pains or complaints and nothing too chronic, you will like this product because the smell is gone and it spreads pretty good. It will get you thru if you need some minor help with getting in and out of a car to go to doctor appts and such but if you are like me and have severe chronic pain, it will take the edge off but you will still have the pain. I hope that made sense to you. The best way to put it is that it will keep you from losing your mind but you will still hurt.

For simple muscle strains from lifting or carrying something, it will work great or if you just twisted something and it's minor, it will help. I suggest you use it more at night to help you sleep better. That seems to be when it works the best. I can tell you that the Arithritis Foundation has given them their approval and I do believe it will help with OA and some minor RA.

As with all medications, whether over the counter or prescription, please talk it over with your RA doctor or your primary doctor who knows about all the medicines that you take to ensure you don't take something that might react with something you are already taking. Play it safe rather than sorry, is my motto!

Here is what it works best on according to their site:

    *pain / anti inflammatory
    *arthritis / arthritic joints
    *carpal tunnel syndrome
    *tendinitis / tennis elbow
    *plantar fasciitis
    *bursitis
    *sport strains and bruises
    *myalgia / lower back pain

Here is how Ateevia came to be:
At the poetic heart of Ateevia Botanica is a multigenerational narrative about suffering and hope, pain and resilience. The true story begins some eighty years ago, with an accomplished senior physician, and continues to be told today through the voice of his inquisitive grandson, a fellow doctor himself.

This grandfather was a highly acclaimed, well respected doctor within his own community during a time much different from today's system of diagnosis and treatment of disease. Medical technology then was more limited, but people's desire and need for wellness was just as strong. The grandfather, motivated by a brilliant, intellectually curious mind and the will to exert great lengths to treat his patients, employed natural methods to aid the body's healing powers. An expert botanist and well acquainted with allopathic, traditional medicinal therapies, he used unconventional combinations of botanical extracts to accelerate his patients' return to a state of robust health. His results were phenomenal.

Years after this grandfather had passed away and on another continent, his daughter was diagnosed with moderate Rheumatoid Arthritis. Despite numerous treatments, her joint pain not only persisted but worsened. One night, after dreaming of the grandfather (her own father), she recalled his treatments, which had been buried with him until this moment.

The daughter told her son about her father's remedy, describing a topical treatment made of botanical extracts to treat patients with painful inflammatory ailments. The son, a doctor himself, began the crusade to find the botanical extracts and unlock their healing powers, reviving his grandfather's legacy in the process. It took a few years for all of the ingredients to be brought together from across the globe. When the cream was finally complete, the son tested it on his mother with astounding results. Within a few weeks, her symptoms faded and then disappeared.

The son went back to work, reformulating the mixture to maximize safety and enhance potency. He understood that in the great enterprise of helping the ailing, we are all partners, for society has a deep rooted obligation to its sick. Word of the success quickly spread. People who volunteered to be treated experienced substantial pain relief. Inspired, the son refined the product to help those who suffer from various inflammation-based pain conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic joint pain and tendonitis. And so, from one doctor to another... and from one grandfather to his grandson... an all natural anti-inflammatory cream was cultivated, with effects focused and long-lasting: Ateevia Botanica was born.

Noxicare Joint Support Review & Giveaway**Closed**

You guys know that I have been using Noxicare for quite awhile (the pain relieving cream) and now they have a supplement that you can take for Joint Support. Now, I do have to disclose and I know all of you are aware of it anyway, but just so there is no misunderstanding, I do take pain meds from a pain clinic. But, I wanted to try these to see if I could help aid the pain meds so that I could maybe cut one a day out. OR if nothing else, at least my husband would get some benefit for his back and neck pain.

We got a bottle of 90 tablets to try and mostly Mike used them because with the pain meds it was hard for me to say one way or the other and since he doesn't use any pain meds, I figured he would be the better candidate to test these on. He has been using their cream also.

I would also like to mention that they have been awesome to send us a new T-Shirt every time we review something and I love them! They are nice and thick and do not wear out like the cheaper shirts, so Thank You for the shirts!

Mike says that he can tell the biggest difference at night. It does help him sleep better which has always been his main concern. He does hurt some during the day and he is getting epidurals in his back but he still has trouble trying to lay down at night so he mainly uses the Joint Support for nighttime relief and he says he is sleeping better.

So, for Mike, that is a big help. You and I know that if you don't get a good night's sleep, that it is really hard to function the next day. I can lay down and take a nap but Mike can't, he has to work. For those that don't know me or are just starting to read my blog, I am disabled, so that is why I don't work.

We have been using Noxicare Natural Pain Relief products for quite awhile now and I do use the cream around my knees and ankles where the Fibromyalgia and RA cause the most swelling. I am not sure if anything is really gonna help those area's much, not even the pain meds that I get from the Pain Clinic have helped much. But, the cream does make it bearable and I appreciate anything that helps me at this point.

That being said, everyone agrees that until the RA doctor finds a medicine that gets the RA under control, it is gonna be hard to find anything that will help me the most. If you don't have RA, I can tell you that from Mike's experience, Noxicare Cream and now the Joint Support, will help you get some relief and make your life bearable.

Mike does not have RA or Fibromyalgia. He just has a bad disc and had to have one repaired last year that had actually broke in two places. They did not find it for a long time and because of that, the scar tissue in his neck area is really bad and that is what is causing his pain.

So, he can get relief from heating pads, the cream and the Joint Support along with the epidurals that he has every so often. You don't want to take too many of those either because of the steroids. If you can at all, try to limit how much steroids you let them put inside of your body. The side effects are not worth what little relief you get, or at least in my situation and my personal experience.

Everyone is different and so please, before you drastically take any action, always talk it over with your personal doctor whether it's a specialist or your primary doctor. I don't want anyone to hurt themselves based on my experience or Mike's experience because everyone is different. I think even the folks at Noxicare would want you to be sure also and talk with your doctor before stopping or taking anything.

If it helps to even get rid of just one pill a day, to me it is worth it. It is one less dangerous pill I have to take and that is really what this is all about. Trying to get back to natural pain relief and living a better life. I truly do hope that this will work for you as well as it has for Mike.

He keeps a tube of the cream with him at work in his truck and the best part is that it doesn't smell as bad as some of those others, so most of the time, no one knows he has put something on.  He takes the Joint Support pills at night to help him sleep but also as a precaution because he does drive a truck and doesn't need his work thinking he takes something dangerous while driving.  Even though it is natural and a supplement, he has decided to err on the side of caution.

When you get ready to take them it does say up to 3 pills a day and I would take them with something on your stomach, even if it is just a couple of crackers. Everyone is different but I always get a little queasy if nothing is on my stomach, no matter what the pills are. Even my acid reflux pills can backfire on me if it is first thing in the morning and I haven't eaten anything.

Other than that, you are good to go. I wish you all the best of luck in your quest to find relief because I feel your pain and know that anything that helps is better than nothing at all. Just be sure to ask your doctor if he thinks it is okay, especially if you take alot of prescribed meds as I wouldn't want anything to counteract what you are taking now.
