Project 7 Sponsor Spotlight Review

I don't know if you have heard of Project 7 and I say that with all due respect because I actually had not heard of them myself until a few weeks ago. I don't know how things sometimes slip thru the cracks and we miss them somehow and this is one charity/business that totally flew over my radar for quite awhile.

It was quite by accident that I even found out then. I had a few extra minutes to kill while waiting for it to strike midnight so I could start some giveaways and I happened to pass thru a page somewhere and saw them talking about Project 7 and all the good things that it does. Each product does a specific thing and here is the list of what I got to review:

1.)  House Blend Coffee actually houses the Homeless
2.)  Nicaragua Hacienda Whole Bean Coffee actually Feeds the Hungry
3.)  The Purple Tube of Mints actually provides 7 meals to American communities w/every tray sold.
4.)  The Green Tube of Mints actually plants 10 Fruit Trees for every tray sold.
5.)  The Purple Tube of Gum provides Meals in the U.S.
6.)  The Green Tube of Gum helps plant Trees Back into the Earth
You will also save a little too when you order $75 or more! Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are hleping out in your area and back. And let me tell you something, the coffee is actually awesome! Both the ground up version and the whole bean version. It really is a matter of what you are used to and if you have a grinder at home. If you don't, then it does no good to get whole beans.

Either coffeee is awesome but with different charities it is linked to. Like the ground coffee which is House Blend houses the homeless when needed. Each bag provides for one person to have shelter for one day!

The Nicaragua Hacienda Whole Bean coffee is really out of this world and I can only drink small amounts and I figured I would try my hand at doing some good things like volunteering and sending money when I an. The Hacienda Whole Bean coffee canister will provide 7 Meals in American communities!

I love the flavor and taste of both coffee's but on which on do we rely the most on? I think that the House Blend Ground Coffee is a really nice smooth taste and you will defintely like this cup of coffee above all else.

We really enjoyed the mints and the gum and I can't believe that someone was able to come up with all of this without much fanfare or anyone talking about it, or if they did, I just did not catch it in time. They have a peppermint and a spearmint. I have to admit I went for the spearment myself  just about every time!

The mints were a little on the hot side for me but hubby loved them so I let him have those while I took the gum! We worked that out pretty darn good! But, seriously, the coffee's are all worth it in the end because they taste truly awesome.

Boogie Wipes Sponsor Spotlight Review

I have some awesome products to tell you about that you might want to get for your children and even for yourself, too! These wipes could help you with getting rid of germs. These are saline wipes that have some awesome scents like great grape, magic methol, original fresh and simply unscented.

You can take a pledge and save the sleeve! Which means that you stop the germs that you wipe on your sleeve by using the Boogie Wipes. And so will your kids! With all of the scents that they have, I am sure that one of them will be the right scent for you and your family.

Can you and your family take the Pledge? These Boogie Wipes will keep your noses from getting chapped with the Aloe Vera that is in them along with Vitamin E along with being alcohol free. Gosh, they sure do sound good, huh?  I know when my allergies are acting up the more I rub my nose, the worse it gets! So, I am gonna try these the next time I have that problem and see what happens.  I have not had any sinus problems since getting these but I am sure I will before the winter is over!

I love that they sent me some to keep in my handbag and that are individual ones so that I don't accidently leave the strip down and then they dry out. I have done that before on just regular hand wipes and then the next time I go to use them, they are all dried out! But not these, they have a nice closure clicking sound that let's you know that they are closed. It's not very loud but as a mom and grandmother I can pretty much tell when they are closed or not.

I brought over a few fun facts about our noses. I left the ones that sounded gross alone:

Fun Fact #2: The proper term for picking your nose is Rhinotillexomania.Say what? Rhino means “nose,” tillexis means “habit of picking,” and mania means “excessive enthusiasm.” Put them together and you get one enthusiastic nose picker! And just in case you don’t think you’re one of them, one out of four people admit to picking their nose at least once a day.

Fun Fact #3: Your sinuses can make 2 liters of mucus every day. That’s almost 8.5 cups or the equivalent of how much water you should be drinking each day!

Fun Fact #4: The speed of a sneeze is approximately 100 mph. That’s faster than a cheetah can run. (No statistics yet on the speed of a sneeze from a running cheetah!) In addition to being speedy, a single sneeze can send 100,000 germs into the air! While that might not be good news if you’re standing next to a sneezer, sneezing is actually a good thing. Sneezes protect your body by clearing the nose of bacteria and viruses.

Here's a little history on the awesome woman who started this company:

Julie Pickens and Mindee Doney developed the first ever saline nose wipe called Boogie Wipes® as a solution for their kids’ sore, red, runny noses. Using the idea, their business backgrounds, and mompreneurial spirit, they formed Little Busy Bodies, Inc. in May 2007.

After an intensive research and development process, hiring a chemist, surveying consumers and interviewing manufacturers, Julie and Mindee sold their first package of Boogie Wipes in December 2007. Sales went on to reach $1 million in the company’s first year of business and by 2009; Little Busy Bodies tripled its revenue to $3.4 million.

Mindee decided to leave the company in May 2010 while Julie stayed on as CEO. In 2011, under Julie’s leadership, the company reached $10 million in sales with products sold in 50,000 retail stores across the US and Canada including Target, Toys 'R' Us, Walgreens and Walmart.

In June 2012, Little Busy Bodies entered into a partnership with Nehemiah Manufacturing, marketers of Pampers Kandoo, aimed at leveraging shared expertise in children’s products and a commitment to improving their community.

See's Candy Sponsor Spotlight Review

This is the box that all of the other boxes below came out of! It is pretty darn huge so you can imagine what was running thru my mind. I actually, believe it or not, am glad it wasn't packed to the gills. Lord, I would have eaten so much chocolate until I made myself sick! Because believe me, there was room in there that they could have shoved more stuff in there! As you can see, See's Candies did not believe in skimping either! We got quite alot of candy and boy, was every bit of it good!

Wow, you should have seen this box of candy when it first got here! It looked huge and when I opened the box it had smaller boxes inside with all kinds of goodies! There was a gold box which was filled with truffles and then there was a longer & wider box that also had truffles but it had other kinds of candy mixed in with it.

Then there was the box with what they called Molasses Chips but to me they just about tasted like Heath Bars or chocolate covered toffee! They also had put in a bag of peppermints that we took out and saved to give to Mike's Dad because he loves peppermint!

Here is the box filled with truffles:

Don't they look awesome? That box did not stand a chance because Mike & I both are truffle lover's from way back!

Then there was the bigger box filled with a little bit of everything, including Molasses Chips:

If you don't think that is alot of chocolate, I don't know what else to say! We have had it I think about 2 weeks and we still have some of the big box left and 3/4 of the Molasses Chips left. The small gold box was gone in no time! I have tried to scale back and not eat so much. So, I am trying to wait until once every 2 days.

So far, I haven't found one that I can honestly say I don't like. It might not be my absolute favorite but even those taste so good with all that chocolate that I can't say that it's not good. I loved them all and so did Mike!

They have all kinds of Christmas themed boxes filled with awesome candies! You can choose this one which is pretty awesome and I wouldn't mind keeping the box as a decoration for next year! Or you can get this awesome blue one:

Did you notice that it says shipping included? That will sure help! I hope I gave you some great ideas and from reading some of the comments from regular customers, they are all saying that See's Candies is the best around and that it wouldn't be Christmas without them! Gosh, makes me feel bad that I am just now hearing about them! But, I know about them now!

I found this in the history section:
Throughout the history of See's Candies, Mary See has symbolized the old-fashioned virtues of homemade quality and friendly service. The spectacled, silver haired woman still smiles with pride from candy boxes shipped throughout the world, and her original recipes are savored by millions to this day.
When Charles See arrived in Los Angeles from Canada in 1921 to try his hand at the confection business, he decided that no image would better reflect the personality of his fledgling venture than that of his mother. Apart from using her recipes as a foundation, See knew that keeping things in the family was the only way to bring about the kind of lovingly crafted product he desired.
See along with his mother and his wife, Florence, opened the first See's Candies shop and kitchen on Western Avenue in Los Angeles in November of 1921. The sparkling clean, black and white shop was designed to resemble Mary See's home kitchen. Benefiting from the wide acceptance of an unusually high quality candy, See's was able to grow steadily from that first shop in Los Angeles to twelve shops by the mid-1920's and thirty shops during the depression.
By 1936, See's was able to expand to San Francisco. Mary See died in 1939 at the age of 85, but the company's ability to adjust to changing times - without abandoning the passion for quality and service that Mary See represented - kept it going strong throughout the decades to come.

Minky Couture Tween Blanket Sponsor Spotlight Review

I went onto Minky Couture's site and grabbed this Tween Blanket to give you an idea of what we are talking about today.  In the past I did review a small baby blanket but not a Tween blanket and from the picture it is hard to see the difference but there must be one for it to be called a different name. I thought this pattern was cute because of how they mixed the baby blues with the darker browns and some white added for good measure.

Actually, after I just went and got the measurements, I bet my blanket from awhile ago was also a Tween because here are the dimensions:  Tween (36" x 50") - $85.00.  And I am pretty certain that is what mine was.  Too bad I gave it away at a baby shower for a girl (it was pink and white) or I would have compared them side by side.

This is the one that I got to review, gosh, I don't have any idea how long ago it was! Seems like it's forever since then.  I love pink and white and the velour feel of the blankets are just amazing! You will want to get one for yourself! I wish I could have but we are tight on money right now while we wait to see if the Union is gonna strike or not. I can't believe that they are crazy enough to do it right here before Christmas!

This was the last color I liked, even though it has owls all over it, it still is pretty! My granddaughter loves purple and orange. Two complete opposites! But you have to admit, it is a pretty cool purple!

Lastly, look at this awesome Christmas themed blanket! Oh, how cute! You can decorate baby's crib right down to his Christmas Tree Minky Blanket! I wouldn't mind having one of these myself! What a festive looking blanket they made. Just wish it could cover the whole U.S. and unite us into one people helping each other out and stop this nonesense of pointing fingers all the time.  Wouldn't that be nice? But I doubt that that will happen.  They love to squabble too much, I think.

I hope I gave you some great idea's to think about and I do hope that you will go thru their shop and see what all they have back there that could light a fire underneath you and make you want to get one also. Gosh, the patterns and colors are totally awesome and you will have so much fun figuring it all out!

Found this under Fun Facts:
Bringing up 8.5 mil. results in google, “minky” (or “minkee”) has taken the world by storm. The fabric that was originally used to welcome babies into the world now wraps around adults, drapes across leather sofas, and comforts college freshmen.

With two spellings and thousands of fans, minky fabric finds itself in a world above all other fabrics. In terms of comfort, it triumphs over fleece with its thick, plush feel that provides unparalleled warmth. It climbs the charts in durability as its colors do not fade like many cotton fabrics.
This fabric is being talked about for a reason. It is warm, durable and comes in a large variety of patterns and colors. Dotted minky fabric creates beautiful baby blankets, patterned minky fabric makes fun pajama pants, and solid minky fabric works perfectly for the backing of a minky quilt.

After first being used to make soft, cuddly baby blankets, minky fabric was used to make small stuffed animals, pillows, diaper covers, baby clothes, booties, car seat covers, shopping cart seat covers, bibs, burp clothes, and changing pad covers.
At the same time that manufacturers were creating everything they could think of to warm and comfort babies, others took a look at bringing the warmth and comfort of minky fabric to children, teenagers and adults. Among these is Minky Couture.

Protein Bakery Sponsor Spotlight Review

Okay, Protein Bakery is announcing their new flavors for the holidays! They have made a Pumpkin Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie and a Ginger Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. They also made a really great Pumpkin Brownie but for the life of me I can't find it on his site. But I did take a picture of it before I ate it. So, here is what that looked like:

Ah, ha! I knew I did not dream that! This Pumpkin Walnut Blondie was my absolute favorite of all the new things that they sent me. Gosh, it was so darn good! I hated it when it was all gone. I looked at the mini's I got but none of them were the same as this one. I don't know for sure what I got because for some odd reason, all the other packages did not have names on them except this one and the Pumpkin Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies, other than these 2 I don't know for sure what I sampled.

These are all the mini bites of brownies that I got to sample. One tasted similar to Peanut Butter and of course, I know the chocolate chip one but the one with white and chocolate chips is one that I will have to explore to find it.

Then here are the Pumpkin Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies, but there were several behind it that had no name so I am not sure if one or two of those weren't the Ginger Oatmeal Raisin. I believe that is all he sent me so it has to be a mixture of the two. Really loved the Pumpkin Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies. They did an awesome job! They were all a huge hit around here at my house!

Did you know these facts about Protein Bakery's goodies:
  • Our delicious protein packed products last 2 weeks if kept in a cool dry place.
  • 15 seconds in the microwave brings out our fresh from the oven taste
  • All our products can be frozen up to three months.
  • TPB eaters say the brownies and blondies taste great straight out of the freezer!
  • Everything is made in small batches and handled with care and love.
  • No gluten in our ingredients! However, we are baked in a facility that uses gluten in other products they produce, so we are NOT certified gluten free.

Did you know that they do have a shop in New York that you can actually walk into and buy what you want fresh? Well here it is:

We are a unique boutique bakery in Manhattan. We are located on the THIRD FLOOR of a landmark building on 20th street between 5th & 6th avenues. In our eclectic LOFT space we have our entire bakery product line ready to be purchased. We love meeting people from all over the planet and we invite you to come pick out your favorite flavors of cookies, brownies, and blondies.

If I lived there, I believe I would having to watch my weight constantly, so I guess it's a good thing I don't! I love alot of their products but my ultimate guilty pleasure is either the chocolate brownies or the Trail Mix Colossal Cookie!

I really love those two the most. Gosh, that Trail Mix Colossal Cookie is to die for! Wish I had one right now but I guess that will have to wait until after the New Year has started. I have spent my share of money and need to be careful so I will think of them until then!

I also think he is going to be a big hit with the mini bite brownies because he is right on that one. They really are the right size and I have found myself eating a whole big one just because I didn't want to waste it but then felt miserable later because I stuffed myself. So, I am in all the way with the mini bites! I can have one and fill full and fill like I got my daily sugar and energy going for the day.

I think these might be the Ginger Oatmeal Raisin that they were talking about on their website. I did not have a name but it seems like it tasted more like Ginger than Pumpkin so I do believe that is what it is. If you love ginger cookies, then these are gonna be your favorite.

Rocky Mountain Popcorn Sponsor Spotlight Review

Rocky Mountain Popcorn Company started over 20 years ago in the eastern foothills of the great Rocky Mountains near Denver, CO. Long known, and much admired, as a great local product, the company grew by reputation until 2007, when it exploded onto the national scene, bringing the bold taste of the Rockies to a nation hungry for wholesome snacks.

Their popcorn is light, fresh, crisp and big .. just like the mountains themselves. They find the biggest, moistest kernels they can, and only hot-air pop them. It is delicately coated with natural flavors, not smothered with pretentious-sounding hoo-ha. You won't find corn syrup or partially hydrogenated anything in Rocky Mountain Popcorn.

I loved this popcorn the first time I tasted it back a few months ago during the summer and when I knew I would like to have some popcorn in my Christmas Event, I just sent a quick email and the great folks at Rocky Mountain Popcorn were more than happy to join in on the fun!

They will be giving away what they call their Small NottaTin sampler which has 7 bags in the collection! So, you will get to sample all the flavors and then you can tell me which one was your favorite. I am a Caramel or Kettle Popcorn girl myself but I know everyone has their own preference.

This is what the prize package will look like and here is a full description of what the Small NottaTins have in them:

Save with a 3-pack bundle! Each case contains three small NottaTins. Enjoy all of our flavors in this festive eco-friendly alternative to the traditional popcorn tin. Each beautiful gift box includes a 7 bag assortment of our flavors: White Cheddar, Butter, Caramel, Jalapeno, Kettle, Cinnamon Sugar and Naked.
Here are some interesting facts I found out while cruising Rocky Mountain's site about their popcorn:
It's classically American, like no other snack, always a healthy, yummy, bag of fun. Who doesn't say the word popcorn and smile? And popcorn is a whole grain snack, so go ahead and munch, guilt - free. Plus, Rocky Mountain Popcorn is all natural, gluten-free, nut-free and certified non-GMO. Give yourself and your loved ones the very best in snacking; share the love with America's favorite...Rocky Mountain Popcorn!

Popcorn, as a grain, has more protein than any other whole grain. The outer layers of the popcorn, including the hull, are good sources of protein, iron, and phosphorous. Popcorn contains more iron content than spinach or eggs. It also has more phosphorus and fiber than baked chips or pretzels.
Guess what else popcorn is known for? It is high in antioxidants, most notably, polyphenols – a group of natural plant chemicals that have a variety of health benefits. Polyphenols are the same group of compounds that give red wine, tea, olive oil and chocolate their beneficial
properties.

Buy Now or Never.com Houndstooth Scarf Sponsor Spotlight Review

I did not know I was getting this scarf until it came with the Nine West Crossbody that I did in an earlier giveaway. It is absolutely gorgeous and feels so darn soft! I wasn't sure at first what it was when I opened the package because this was on top of the crossbody and I thought at first, they sent me the wrong pocketbook but then I realized it was a scarf! I thought that was very thoughtful of them to decide to send something extra to put in a different giveaway. This is a gorgeous Houndstooth Scarf and you won't believe how soft and velvety it feels!

The company who sent it was Buy Now or Never.com, the same company that is giving away the crossbody handbag in one of my other giveaways so they have been a joy to work with and so easy going.  The scarf is 100% acrylic, and is a fashion scarf of a high end look with a cashmere feel. Pair the scarf with an everyday outfit for added flair or drape around your neck in cooler weather.

If you would like to see some other scarves that they have in stock and ready for you to buy, then go on over and check out which ones look awesome to you! You can follow HERE and take a peek!

This fashion scarf measures 12 inches by 72 inches and is hand washable.  I knew it felt soft the minute I touched it but was at a loss of words to describe it until I saw them say it had a cashmere feel. And it really does!
I hope this gives you a better idea than my picture did. Mine would have never captured how long it really is and that's why I just bunched it up on the counter when I took the picture and thankfully, Buy Now or Never.com had a great looking picture to grab to bring over. It has these qualities that will make it an instant hit either for you or as a gift to someone else:

**Measures 12 inches by 72 inches
**Hand washable
**100% acrylic

You normally would pay around $34 for this scarf elsewhere but at Buy Now or Never.com this awesome scarf is actually only $14.00! Yes, I said that right, $14.00!  That is a savings of about 59%!

Tea Gallerie Set of 2 Teas Spotlight Review

Okay, guys! I think we are down to our last 2 teas as this is my last Christmas Event. If I do another one it looks like I might do the one right after Christmas that is meant for people who didn't get exactly what they wanted so they get one more chance to win something. But don't bet the dollar on it, yet. I am pretty burned out now and if I get some rest and get caught up with all my single giveaways and reviews that I have had to let slide, then maybe, but don't count on it.

Anyway, Tea Gallerie has been so super duper nice about trying to give a little bit of tea to everyone in all of my giveaways and I sure do appreciate that. I hope for those of you who won and got to try their amazing tea's that you liked them and will hopefully give them a shot and buy one or two from them in flavors that you would like to try.

The last 2 teas we have now are the English Breakfast and Moroccan Mint. I have to be honest here and say I never knew there were so many different forms and names of mint teas out there! I have been thoroughly enlightened on mint teas!

The Moroccan Mint has organic peppermint and spearmint blended with organic gunpowder green tea to give it that minty flavor but also a hint of something else. This tea is full of antioxidants.

The next tea is a black tea which I am more partial to on a whole although at times, I have yearned for a good green tea. But black tea is probably my best suited tea that I can drink any time, any where, and in several forms.  I love all Earl Grey teas and thus English Breakfast to me is almost an Earl Grey but not quite, but within the same lines. It is a hearty good tea if you are trying to stay awake so be warned not to drink late in the night if you aren't planning on going to sleep soon.

It is definitely a traditional blend of organic fair trade black tea with robust flavor. And that is the absolute truth!  I forgot that and made my tea last night a little too strong but I still drank it because I had so many reviews to do and so much to catch up on but even the strong tea could not defeat how tired I was. I have had a hard time this week and really should have had all these reviews done by now but my Fibromyalgia reared it's ugly head this week and I have been so wiped out.

So, if I am rushing thru these reviews today it is because I want to make sure everyone gets in there and the giveaways go off without a hitch.  I have a feeling come midnight I am gonna crash big time.  Alot is going on here and I had thought I had things under control but it looks like my doctor's want me to come back in next Friday and do another outpatient minor surgery like the one I had done last Monday but this time on my neck and shoulder area whereas the last time it was my lower back.

So, I apologize if I have been missing in action lately, but it's really all I can do to get these together and up and going. Had I known all this was gonna go down, I would have backed off some of the events, but once this one is done, I can breathe a sigh of relief and coast the rest of the month with just some single giveaways here and there.

I really do hope that you will cruise thru Tea Gallerie and look at all the wonderful teas that he has to offer.  Whatever your preference, they have it! There are green teas, white teas, oolong teas, black teas, herbal teas. pu-erh teas, mate teas, dessert teas, kid's teas and even tea for pregnancy. Which I had no clue that there was one for that!

They even sell some teaware for you to get your full enjoyment out of their teas. I have one such cup that I love! If you want to really get that perfect cup and have trouble with the leaves falling thru your seeper then try this awesome mug! Nothing much gets past this little baby! I have just about worn it out!

You sit the bottom of the cup on top of your cup and it releases the tea thru the bottom filter and all that other stuff stays inside the clear cup while you walk away with a mug of nice hot tea! Simply amazing!

In leaving off with this last tea spotlight for this year, anyway, I decided to bring some of the questions that people have asked Tea Gallerie and the answers that were given. I tried to pick some that I thought were really interesting and maybe something that you should know. Here they are:

How long will loose tea keep?
Our teas are delicious up to a year on the shelf. Though, we believe that our teas are so tasty that they won't be sitting on your shelf for very long. We highly recommend storing your loose teas in our washi sashi airtight storage canister, our own gift tin canisters, or in safe food grade pouches.

How much sugar and how many calories are in your tea?
Once steeped, our teas are virtually calorie and sugar free.

Does tea contain vitamins?
Yes, tea contains many beneficial vitamins. The six main vitamins are the following, vitamin B (mostlyB2), vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K.

What is the difference between loose leaf tea and tea that comes in a bag?
Loose tea is usually quality hand picked leaf which consists mostly of the first tea bud from the tea plant. It's then sifted and whatever is left over (typically called "tea dust" ) is what is used in most tea bags. The health benefits of loose leaf surpass tea bags in general.

Hidden Treasure Candle Sponsor Spotlight Review

Hi, Everyone! I know you have seen these a million times by now so I know it's nothing new to you but for me it is. I recently did a Flash Giveaway of a Hidden Treasure Candle and then I loved it so much I bought myself a Pumpkin one and then asked if I could have another one to give away in one of my Christmas Events and the kind folks at Hidden Treasure Candles said, sure! So, there will be a Hidden Treasure Candle in the Winter Wonderland Giveaway that starts on December 1st and ends on the 15th!

I know by now you know the drill but here it is again: Every candle has a gold plated or silver necklace or a treasure chest with a code for a grand prize! And then if any of us is lucky enough there are 3 Grand Prizes that will be awarded, which I doubt I will be getting as I can't possibly buy that many candles to make any difference, but it will be exciting to see who does!

Every candle has a hidden treasure ! from gold-plated to silver necklaces Reveal a hidden treasure chest to find a code for a new iPad or a Le Vian necklace or even a $5,000 diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co.
This is the candle that I bought and it's a Pumpkin Pie. I love smelling Pumpkin anything burning as a candle and plus I had this around Thanksgiving so it was perfect! As you can see, I got this awesome looking necklace. It is hard to describe and I know it sorta looks like pearls from this angle but is it actually silver balls.  I will give you some other pictures here in a moment so you can see it better. I wanted to make sure the candle got in the first picture.

There, I think that one show it better, what do you think? I wonder how do we know if we got just a $10 item or something a little more?  I have been wondering that for awhile and there doesn't seem to be anywhere to go for any of the candle company's that make these now. If you know, I would love to know where my 2 necklaces and 2 rings stand.

Regardless, though, the candles are awesome. You know how that waxy feeling used to be if you got it on your hands, well, the great thing about these is that they wipe right off! I love that because fishing around in that candle and coming up with that foil wrapped treasure with gooey soy on it sure does make it nice and easy to wipe off and have no waxy residue.  I can tell you I don't miss that at all!

I am debating on whether I will get one for Christmas but really need to hold off since hubby's company has not signed a contract and it was due this past summer but was rejected so we are in limbo right now not knowing what is gonna happen. I hate having my holidays ruined by crazy stuff like this, as if I don't have enough to worry about!

So far my only experience with Hidden Treasure's has been the Pumpkin Pie and the Country Clothesline so I don't have any idea how any of the other scents smell but several of them sure do look good! Christmas candles to me are harder to pick if you don't smell them first. Everyone has their own idea of what certain smells should smell like and I have smelled some with the same exact name but smelled completely different. I have learned over the years to just stick to the regular candles and just let the baking take care of the scents!

The winner of the Winter Wonderland Giveaway will get to pick their own scent so be looking around and see what you would like. If they are anything like the two I have had, they will be awesome!

Cocaine Zombie's Book Review

Okay, I have to admit this is the first time a book has stumped me and that doesn't happen often, especially a book that is as small as this one is. With only 198 pages, I still had trouble finishing it. It was mildly disturbing but the bigger problem was it jumped around so much I had a hard time following what the heck was going on.

The title itself is not nowhere near what this book is about so I don't get the title either. Gosh, for once, I am actually out of words! But, I will give it a good try and hopefully, if you have read the book, maybe you can explain it to me because I missed the whole point of the story and that don't happen often! The book is Cocaine Zombies written by Scott A. Lerner.

Here is an excerpt from the back of the book:
Samuel Roberts, a small-town lawyer in Urbana, Illinois, is contacted by a prospective client accused of selling cocaine. Nothing Sam hasn’t handled before. Or is it? Thomas is accompanied by a mysterious and exotic beauty named Chloe. Who is she, why is she paying for Thomas’s defense, and why is the accused so antsy around her?
Soon after Sam takes on the case he is plagued by terrible nightmares. Only, in these nightmares, when he dreams of death, people die. Realizing that he is out of his depth, Sam enlists the help of his friend, Bob Sizemore. Bob is oddly insightful about the supernatural and deeply suspicious of big business and the government. Sam and Bob soon discover that a major German pharmaceutical company has been using human guinea pigs to test a highly addictive and dangerous derivative of cocaine first developed in Nazi Germany.
Combined with ancient herbs provided by a Voodoo priest, the substance has become increasingly addictive and dangerous. After Thomas’s head shows up in Sam’s refrigerator, suspicion naturally falls on him.
Now he has no choice but to face the forces of evil head on. But how do a small-town lawyer and a computer geek defeat an enemy with the power to enslave mankind?
Okay, here is what I don't get. Things are okay up until the point when the lawyer, Sam, needs to talk to his client after he learns that there is a video plainly showing him selling the cocaine. So, he goes out to the house which is really run down and looks like no one has lived there in forever.

Sam goes in and Thomas has a gun pointed at him the whole time and then says, "You shouldn't have come here", which I thought was odd, if the man is gonna try and get you off on the charges, wouldn't you want to speak to him? He acts like he is out of it or something and finally Sam realizes he needs to go.

Then all of a sudden, the police call him back out to the house and when he gets there, he is taken to this strange bedroom that is really nothing like the rest of the house. It is grandeur and opulent but also has a headless Thomas hanging! And on the ceiling in blood is the message, Come Join Me Sam. It scares the crap out of Sam and he wonders why the police have called him.

Well, first because his name is written in blood (which really, if he was the killer, why would he write his name in blood on the ceiling?) then there is his business card, which is very self explanatory, he is his client and he did come to his office and hired him, so Sam gave him his card.

Then there is supposedly this witness who says Sam had been to the house that day. Sam was offered a beer while he was there but he did not drink it but he did pick it up. (which I thought was pretty dumb), but it's a story so I'll leave that be. Sam is really rattled and goes home to settle down. He opens his fridge to get something to drink and there is Thomas's head, all nice and neat on a bed of leaves like it's the entree sitting on lettuce!

The whole story from this point on gets so irrational I thought this is where the book just takes on a whole new weirdness that I have trouble keeping up with. For whatever reason, and I still don't get it, why would Chloe and whomever, frame Sam? They are the ones who went to him for help in the first place. He doesn't know anything, just trying to do his job and figure out how to best defend him so I don't get why they framed him.

But what is even weirder is Sam's reaction and what he does with the head, almost made me lose my lunch! Why he had to go to such extremes is beyond all comprehension. He does things to that head that no ordinary person in their right mind would do and then calmly cleans up the mess and then sets out to hide the remains and all the items he used to get the job done.

But see, here's the part that doesn't make any sense, did he not think that someone might be watching the whole thing? Because later on we find out with the help of his computer nerd friend, Bob, that his whole house was bugged and had camera's which means someone knows what he did with the head! So, that whole bizarre thing that happened in the kitchen was not necessary. Also, just because of what he did, doesn't mean it can't be identified. Duh, all they need is DNA and blood samples to prove who it was. (the head, I mean).

So, from this point on, I am easily distracted from this book and it's hard for me to concentrate because I keep going back to how dumb it was what he did with the head and that somehow the police know because he isn't back home from getting rid of the head just a few minutes when they come with a warrant to search his house.

Luckily for him, they didn't have one for his car, or he would have been screwed. Now, he knows for sure, that the police think he did it and they are hell bent on proving it and with great clarification he finally understands that someone with money is behind all of this because of the hour it is that they would have had to get the DA's office involved and get a judge to sign off on a warrant tells him they think they know alot more than even he doesn't know.

Which means, is someone in the police department hooked up with Chloe? Secondly, things really do get hinky when another client who is accused of a drug related bust also, is found hanging. Mmm, I might not be a police expert, but even I would be suspicious as to why this is all happening all of a sudden to 2 client's that are Sam's and you can tell from his office and his so called part time helper, that he doesn't have a whole lotta money, so if he was in on the drug stuff, wouldn't he have a nicer office, nicer car and even a nice place to live?

So, this is where the book loses me and I am still struggling to finish it but I knew this would be enough to either pull you into wanting to read it because it sounds like something right up your alley or you are just curious to see what has me so baffled.

For such a small book, I am still trying to finish it and I started it over a week ago and it eludes me still. I am on page 89 of a book with only 198 pages in it but in those 89 pages, a whole lotta stuff happens and that is where I think the problem lies. So much has happened in that little time space that it is really hard to keep up with it. I am truly stumped on this one. I am not saying it's a bad book, I just don't get it.

Maybe you will and if you do, will you let me in on the secret? I hate being stumped and I hate even worse, not being able to finish a book before it's due. First time this has ever happened and I want to know why!

Happy Reading!

Almost A Turkish Soap Opera Book Review

We are switching up gears again and even though it has some drama like effects in this book, I viewed it as a comedy with lots of hilarious or downright dumb antics of a man who aspires to be a soap opera star! In Istanbul, no less! The name of the book is Almost A Turkish Soap Opera written by Anne-Rae Vasquez.

Here is an excerpt from her book:
Almost a Turkish Soap Opera is about Adel, a young Turkish man whose family has lived in poverty while his grand uncle controls the inheritance money which rightfully belongs to his father. Adel travels to the USA with his best friend Kamil, works illegally, and is deported back to Istanbul.
He flies to Canada, marries his rich grand uncle's spoiled obnoxious granddaughter in exchange for his permanent resident status. He becomes infatuated with his beautiful English teacher and tries to hide this from his wife. How did his life turn into a Turkish soap opera?
Adel is 27 years old, single and has 2 younger sisters, all of whom have honey blond hair and emerald green eyes. He also has 2 younger brothers.

Adel decides to go to America and calls his friend Kamel who is 25 years old and they first go to Hollywood and they get jobs driving an aiport shuttle illegally.  Adel is discovered and sent back to Turkey.

He then makes plans to move to Canada and marry a girl that his family sets up for him. It is his grand uncle's granddaugher and she is spoiled rotten! They get married and later Adel & Kamel go to college and one of their teacher's is Nora, whom they had met at the airport in L.A.

He knew he really liked Nora but knew his grand uncle was preparing his arranged marriage with his granddaughter, Yonka. Turns out Yonka loves someone else and is actually pregnant by Mario and she wants to marry him instead. They both knew that they had to go thru with the marriage, even though they loved other people.

They made the agreement that they would sleep in different beds and bedrooms. Yonka finds out about Nora and calls her a whore and tells her to leave her husband alone. Adel insists that he loves her when Nora tries to break it off.

Meanwhile, Yonka finally meets up with Mario and she tries to get back with him but when he finds out she is married to someone else, he walks out on her! She finally tells her Grand Uncle that she is in love with Mario and having his baby. She wants the marriage to Adel annulled.

Adel goes back to Turkey and there he fianlly meets the woman for him!

There is alot more I left out but it was mind boggling all the ins and outs of there relationships and who wanted whom and who they finally ended up with. Those will be shockers and I will save that for you to find out!

Happy Reading!

Dangerous Past Book Review

Let's switch gears and do a mystery/thriller! I was getting bogged down my romance and history sorta books and now I am into what I like best, thrillers! The book is Dangerous Past written by A.F. Ebbers.

Here is an excerpt from the back of the book:
Airline Captain Frank Braden and his wife Nicole are suddenly stalked by professional assassins who have a deadline to make their deaths look like an accident or a suicide.
And the couple doesn't know why they are being targeted. They don't realize that they stand in the way of a deadly conspiracy. Little by little they are pulled into a dangerous web of intrigue by a murderous criminal network that deceptively offers the pilot his wife's life if he will concede to their demands.
This is a thriller that rocks the highest levels of Washington. Dangerous Past is a story of a man who must choose between doing what ought to be done or keeping his family alive by allowing a murderous and powerful VIP to escape his past.

Airline Captain Frank Braden was a Vietnam Veteran who did a tour there so he could look for the person responsible for killing his brother. He was able to uncover that a man named Wilson had shot his brother at the orders of another man named General Fenton.

Years later, General Fenton is going to be announced as the Chairman of Joint Chief's of Staff for the President and that is why they are after Frank and his wife. To stop them before they can tell the story of Frank's brother being killed in Vietnam.

They plant a bomb on his flight and the explosion blew a hole in the plane. They were able to land the plane with only one dead and a few injuries. The next attempt he is chlorophormed and left on Amtrak's tracks for the train to run over him but his wife, Nicole finds him and pushes his body off the tracks.

Frank keeps telling the FBI that he is being setup and at first they don't believe him but as the attacks escalate, they have no choice but to launch an investigation and Agent Coffey is assigned the case.

Isn't it amazing what people will do for a little bit of power and money? And these are the people we trust to run our country and keep us safe? Who knows how much more is out there that we don't know about or is being covered up?

I am not a huge fan of cover ups and plots but I do know that they exist whether to shield us from gory details or out and out lies and murder or stealing our tax dollars for other more personal gain, I truly believe in the end, they will stand before God on Judgment Day and I am gonna be so glad I was not a part of any of it!

If you are a thrill seeker like me, this book will push you to keep reading to find out what happens next and does he survive in the end? Would love to tell you but then, where would the fun in that be?

Happy Reading!

Cell Ceuticals Skin Treatment System Spotlight Review

Okay, I know we have been talking about alot of skincare products lately, but have you checked the prices on this stuff lately? I know that alot of you are like me, on a tight budget and we feel like we are getting the short stick because we can in no way keep up with all the people who can afford facials, botox, little nips and tucks, along with laser resurfacing to make us look 10 years younger.

So, although it was not my intention to become a Beauty Blog, it sure seems to be morphing into that direction. So, bear with me while we go over another great skincare company that has a line of products out that will have you all wishing you could get this one. The name of the company is CellCeuticals and wow, is it worth the wait!

Here is what I got to review:

1.) Extremely Gentle Skin Cleanser
2.) Extreme Defense Anti-Cell Damage Skin Treatment
3.) CellGenesis Regenerative Skin Treatment
4.) NeoCell Micro Resurfacing Skin Treatment
5.) Cer-Active - Active Moisture + Barrier Repair Skin Treatment

This stuff is amazing and they have more products than just the ones I mentioned. So, if you have time, go check them out and see all the amazing things! Only CellCeuticals has harnessed the regenerative power of the GFP Cellular Complex into potent skin treatments proven to create visibly younger skin.

In only two weeks, skin looks incredibly firmer, remarkably radiant and visibly younger. The results are so amazing that 100% of women in an independent clinical study saw more resilient and smoother skin. They are saying that you will see visibly younger skin in just 2 weeks! So, I am really excited about this program. I haven't been on it long enough to tell you a whole lot since this was a rush review, but I will come back in a few weeks when everything has quieted down and let you know for sure what I think. Some things are a no brainer like the Gentle Skin Cleanser.

We'll start with the Extremely Gentle Skin Cleanser. I loved that it had no harsh smells and actually spelled pretty good. You can use this cleanser day and night. It can effectively take off your eye makeup without too much fuss.

The Extreme Defense is an antioxidant treatment that works during the day to help defend skin against age promoting free radicals.

Then the CellGenesis Skin Treatment is a super potent regenerative treatment with an exclusive breakthrough and patent pending GFP Cellular Complex that acts to help rejuvenate new surface cells for visibly younger skin.

Then the CerActive is a moisturizer and barrier repair skin treatment to soothe dry skin and provide long lasting hydration. You can use this one as often as you need to.

Lastly, there is Neo Cell which resurfaces skin by using natural enzymes and volcanic micro minerals to gently resurface skin without all the harsh after effects. Use this once or twice weekly, not every day!

Here is what I found in the About Us section:
