Fine Featherheads Fly Ties Review

I recently got to try some new hair ties to keep my hair up and away from my face with my all time favorite ponytail. I know, it's the lazy way out, but right now, I need the lazy way out with all the doctor appointments I have going on. I actually have one this afternoon so I thought I would try to get this one in while it's on my mind and because I have the black color on right now.

I wasn't so sure that these small looking ties would hold my hair up because I am used to those huge fat big ones but I have to admit, I really like the lean, mean, light feeling I have going on right now and they have kept my hair up with no problems! I have not had to re-adjust or take off and pull hair back in. That has always been my number #1 complaint about ties and putting my hair up into a ponytail. But, not with Fly Ties!

That is much better, now you can really see the colors! These are always my go to colors but Fly Ties has alot more to choose from! If you love neons, hot pinks, you name it, they got it! But, you guys know me, either I am a pastel kinda girl or a black/white kinda girl. I know, kinda boring, but we like what we like and I wish I did like more POP!, but I am not a young chick anymore, so I leave those colors to the young ones who look marvelous in them.
These are actually made by a company called Fine Featherheads, so yes, you can get the feather extensions there also. I wanted to mention that before I went to far into the review and forgot. You will see all kinds of neat things to do with your hair and I sure do wish I worked or had places to go besides the doctors so I could experiment with all the neat things they have, but I don't, so I want all of you who do, to let me know or send me a picture so I can share what some of their feather extensions look like on your hair.
Now, as you can see, they stretch really good and are very sturdy and I have actually slept with my hair up in a ponytail several nights and my hair is still in place! So, I am quite happy with my ties because those huge biggies I was talking about earlier, well, I would have already had them out of my hair by now several times and hair everywhere but where I wanted it to be. So, that should tell you how strong and capable they are of keeping your hair in place.
These were actually their Holiday colors and I don't know if you can see or not, but the darker color is actually a green.  They also recommend that they could be worn on your wrist for the younger crowd. I know that I have seen similar ties or wrist ties on the teens around here lately.
They have the tie that sticks up on one end and then the other side is smooth and clean so either way is okay, whatever your preference is. I will show you some pastels also so that you can get a good idea of their range of colors.  I think these would be awesome on a new baby girl! Of course, I would wear them also in the summer or spring.
This is a picture of what they would look like worn on your wrist. Interesting, huh?
I would strongly urge you to go and check out their vast array of colors in either the fly ties or the feather extensions. They even have Feather Earrings! I wish I was bold enough or young enough to get away with that, but I know I would probably look ridiculous wearing them but I think on the young girls they look awesome!
They have something called Quill Clips also along with Pet Plumes that actually go to a good cause for each animal that it represents. I must really be behind the times because they even have something called Tint Hair Chalk for your hair! I think that is so you can wash it out versus actually dyeing your hair that color, so you can still have the fun of the color and then go back to your color when you want to. What a fabulous idea!  This one is called Party Pink!
I also was so fascinated by the idea of Hair Chalk that I went and found this video on their YouTube:
I found out a little bit about how they came about and you know me, I love sharing how they come up with their ideas:
Fine Featherheads was first born in early 2010 when founder Dakota Hills started selling feathers at concerts and farmers markets in Boulder, CO with her sister Dana. Dakota quickly saw the greater potential of these beautiful creations and started visiting salons across the country to show off her product. The product literally sold itself and word spread like wildfire.
With a lot of hard work (which began in the basement of Dakota’s home), a full-on, international feather extension production and distribution company began. With the help of family, friends and all of Fine Featherheads’ supporters, Dakota, along with her partner and co-owner Ryan, have grown the business into one that has value, transparency and a good dash of fun at its core.
Fine Featherheads has now blossomed into a booming business that employs 35 staffers and provides feathers to thousands of clients around the world! Not only does our business creates jobs in our local community, it provides small business opportunities for all of our partners worldwide. And we love that!
Connect with Fine Featherheads several ways:

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My step daughter has been just dying to get some hair chalk! She has such dark hair though, i'm not sure how well it would show up. She does have a birthday coming up though!

what an amazing success story! I like seeing feathers in accessories, I make some, but haven't used feathers yet, but I want to try it for some things.

I like the hair ties! I've seen this style around and wondered how sturdy they are (my hair is super thick), so it's nice to know that this brand will hold up. Love the chalk as well, might be fun for a costume party.
