The Lady Risks All Book Review

I have another great book to tell you about today tht was written by Stephanie Laurens and it's called The Lady Risks All. This is an Avon Romance book so you know it's gonna be juicy! Let's see what the excerpt says and then I will give you a little bit of my opinion.
Neville Roscoe, notorious and enigmatic, lives resolutely outside society, bound only by his own code of honor - until challenged by his desire for the one woman he cannot have.
Miranda Clifford is a lady imprisoned by rigid respectability - until tempted by a passion beyond her power to deny. Flung together in peril, through danger and intrigue, they discover a love impossible to ignore ... or keep.
Mmm, they sure did not want to tell you much, huh? That's okay. I have enough info I think to give you so that you will know if you want to read it or not.  Okay, here is my take on the book:

Miranda and Roderick are raised by two spinster sisters after both of their parents die.  Being brought up in higher social grace, Miranda at age 29, was every inch of a lady.

She caught her brother going out at night and decided to follow him and see where he went on the nights he left late at night. Well, she was led right to the very last place a lady should be seen and that was one of the seediest gaming houses in town and the owner was Neville Roscoe.

She met Roscoe and after some time decided he was a good man who was honest to a point. One night after leaving the gaming house, Roderick is kidnapped and Miranda along with Roscoe searched all over England for him.

Since Roscoe knew people in high and low places, he was able to get a tip from a coach driver that set them on the right path to finding Roderick.  He had a broken foot and collarbone. Roscoe had a home close to where this place was, so that is where he took both of them.

Come to find out, Roscoe was not who he professed to be and whom everyone thought he was back in town where the gaming house was.

I will stop there so you will have some suspense as to what is going on! And of course, I left out important info here and there so it will all still be new to you.  It's a pretty good story and a great love story in the end, for more than one couple, too!

Happy Reading!

You can visit the author's site for more info and I believe she has some of the first chapter there to read if you need more info before buying the book to read for yourself.

I love the gambling hall element, and now the title makes total sense!

Thanks for being on the tour!
