Learning Resources Lock It In! Review & Giveaway **Closed**

I can hardly wait to give this to my grandson, J.W. when they are able to get here. They live in another state and we had planned on meeting up several times but his mother isn't feeling too hot lately and neither am I so we keep postponing but I think they are coming for sure the first week or second week in December.

I did not want to hold onto several items that were to be his, so I thought I better go ahead and do the review based on what I know and I did play around with it a little myself to see how it works. It does run on batteries and can either play with one person or two at the same time!

There are 15 different kind of problems that also features 4 games with each game having 3 levels. He will learn number values, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I believe Math is one of the subjects that she told me that they had to put in an advanced class because he is at a third grade level and he's only in the first grade!

But, see, she always was working with him on numbers and he is also reading at third grade level. I have always tried to send books mixed in with the toys and then some personalized items. And this year won't be any different but I did find him some challenging things just like this one.

You don't want children to get bored in school because when they do that is when their minds start to wonder and that is why they pushed so hard to get him into higher advanced classes. They seem to think according to tests, that he might turn out to be a genius! Can you imagine? Well, I hope I am still here to see all of that. I would love to know that my adding things in like this helped push him on.
Learning Resources is an awesome company that has come up with all kinds of toys and educational products to help our children advance at their own pace and in doing so, making sure that they understand the problems they just solved and teaching them to use their brains more and figure out solutions to the problems.  They even have a Teacher tab, a Special Needs tab and a Parent tab. When I say tab there are sections that are put aside just for them to look at and buy what they think might help their children or their students. Don't forget to check out this sale on their site!
I was amazed at all of the products that they have for children these days that actually double up as learning tools too!  I think as long as we keep doing that, we should hopefully see improvements in our children's learning abilities! I am not saying they all have to be genius's, just if nothing else, learn to read and write and live your life without fear that you won't get something because you don't know how to fill out the forms. We love puzzles in this family so it was great seeing them here on this site.
Here are the benefits of using these puzzles:
  • Supports number sense, operations, skip counting (and other number patterns), problem solving, logic, and spatial reasoning
  • Easiest puzzle base features all 100 numerals, while others show only evens, odds, or challenging random numerals.
  • Offers increased difficulty as well as options for quizzes and assessment when you flip the base cards over to reveal blank grids
  • Includes 6 different double–sided write & wipe puzzles measuring 9"L x 10"H
  • Guide features intervention strategies
  • Grades K+

  • So, you can see why I am so excited that I found this company and all of their wonderful products that I hope will help J.W. keep up the good work and push him forward instead of backwards.  I do however, do not get cross or angry if he doesn't get something because at the age he is now, the wrong choice of words could make him feel like he isn't special or gifted and he may stop trying. So, there will never be any pressure from me to over perform, just understand the problems.
