Food Should Taste Good Review

I was very fortunate to be able to do this review of some very good quality snack chips. I had reviewed them early on when I first started blogging and doing reviews and they are so nice and easy to work with that I got back in touch because I noticed a few flavors I hadn't tried yet, like the Original Sweet Potato chips, which are super awesome.

I am so glad I chose Food Should Taste Good as one of the first product reviews and now here at the close of another year, I am reviewing them and the new flavors of Sweet Potatoes. I have to be honest and tell you that the Chocolate flavored chips are my absolute favorite with Sweet Potato coming in right behind them.  They have been so amazingly gracious to send me 5 different flavors to taste and experiment with.

1.) Chocolate - this was the first one my husband and I decided to try first. We are huge chocolate lovers! We were a little surprised that it was not as chocolately as we thought but in a strange way it was better. There was a hint of chocolate but it had a salty taste mixed with the tortilla chip to give you a weird like tostito chip taste with an edge of chocolate. We decided that we liked it!

2.) White Cheddar - is our 2nd favorite flavor and we really loved these. Who could not love chips and cheddar together? Throw in some homemade salsa with picante and we were in heaven! We also tried it with a crab dip and it rocked our world! You have to understand something, we eat light meals and then munch most of the time.

We don't munch in huge quantities, more like grazing. My gastro doctor is the one who started that. I have very bad acid reflux and the heartburn are awful along with my IBS, so I have to be very careful what I eat. He suggested that I eat 6 small mini meals a day instead of 2 or 3 huge meals which is where all my problems come in. So, these chips were like a lifesaver for me. I could eat healthy by choosing veggie dips, low fat dips and other various dips to eat with these wonderful chips!

3.) The Works - This is my husband's favorite. It is a little more on the spicy side so I had to stay clear of this one. I did sample a few chips which was enough for me to know that I could not eat many or I would have problems. But, he loved them and I know alot of people love food on the spicy side so if that is you, then you will love this one also! It has garlic, poppy seeds, caraway seeds and onion. You could use just about any dip with this one, especially a good picante salsa.

4.) Blue Corn- This one is like a true Mexican restaurant's chips. They are crunchy and fresh and just have that homemade taste to it. We really loved this one because we could all eat it. Spinach dip and salsa would both be great dips for this one along with any kind of cheese dip. This would be a good one for the kids because it is a basic tostito chip but with a little unique flavor or it may be the crispness that sets it apart from the others.

5.) Olive - which pretty much is self explanatory but it is the one that goes best with garlic tasting crackers or other indulgences. A combination of real black, kalamata and green olives offers a genuine flavor which punches up a quick snack and creates the perfect base for dips like hummus. I love hummus but Mike is a little leery of it, which means more for me!

Now, I only got to review 5 flavors but they have actually got 16 flavors in all so I am sure you will be able to find one that suits you or your whole family. I also learned that they are gluten free and are considered vegan. I am not sure if gluten free helps with my IBS but I do tend to lean more towards it here in the last 6-7 months just to see if it does make a difference.

Some days I feel better and some I don't. But I am able to eat a little better than before by mixing gluten free products in with ones that aren't. Food Should Taste Good is also Kosher, MSG free, dairy and lactose free (except for the Cheddar & White Cheddar), cholesterol and trans fat free.

I also learned that they do make charitable donations (in the form of giving their chips to help your fund raising) and you can get all the information you need to do that on their website. The link to that particular subject is listed under the Frequently Asked Questions. It is nice to know that companies do give back more than I think we give them credit for. Some can do it thru money and some can do it by offering their products. It does not really matter which way, it is the gesture and the heart felt way that it is offered that matters.

The company started in 2006 by Pete Lescoe in Needham, Massachusetts because he wanted to offer snacks that were better for us, tasted great, had healthy ingredients and were a sophisticated flavor. The chips are baked, not fried with great flavors to satisfy anyone. They can be found in gourmet shops, grocery stores and natural stores. All of this information can be found on their website and by getting in touch with them.

Here is some of the ways you can get in touch with them:

I always glance through your reviews and this one caught me off guard.. I had never heard of a chocolate chip...!!! Ok, a choc chip, yes, but not an actual potato chip that was chocolate flavored. That would surely be interesting to try!!

Oh my goodness! I'm definitely going to have to try the Chocolate and the White Cheddar! I love their plain blue corn ones with salsa. Hands down my favorite tortilla chip.

I have tried several of their flavors but did not know they had chocolate! The hint of salt you mentioned actually sounds good w/chocolate.....mixing salty & sweet sounds delicious.

I just read this review and honestly I heard of a chip dipped in chocolate but not these kind here. I would really like to try them. If their lower in calories and fat then chocolate that would be great as I love chocolate. The white cheddar sounds yummy too. Thanks for the review
