Here is an excerpt from the book:
Once upon a time, he was Lord Tristan Easton—now he is Crimson Jack, a notorious privateer beholden to none, whose only mistress is the sea. But all that will change when exquisite Lady Anne Hayworth hires his protection on a trip into danger and seduction...
Desperation brought Anne to the bronzed, blue-eyed buccaneer. But after the Captain demands a kiss as his payment, desire will keep her at his side. She has never known temptation like this—but to protect her heart, she knows she must leave him behind.
Yet Tristan cannot easily forget the beauty—and when they meet again in a London ballroom, he vows he won't lose her a second time, as fiery passion reignited takes them into uncharted waters that could lead the second lost lord home. . .

Lord Tristan Easton and his two brothers, Rafe and Sebastion had barely escaped the wrath of their cruel Uncle Lord David Easton after he murdered their father.  Because they were in line for a great inheritance Lord David Easton locked them all in a dungeon.

If Mary had not helped them escape, they would have died there. Rafe was placed in a home, Tristan was placed on a ship with Capt. Marley and Sebastion went in another direction. They all vowed to meet back in 10 years at some place and take care of their Uncle, Lord David Easton.

Tristan became a pirate named Crimson Jack. When the time came to meet again, they found out that their Uncle had already died and was buried. Sebastion got his inheritance back and Tristan went back to sea.

Lady Anne Hayworth sought out Tristan to take her on a voyage to where her finace Walter had died. She felt she needed to get closure on the gulit she felt about Walter's death.  Lady Anne and her maid booked the ship.

Tristan immediately felt the attraction. He thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He tried in many ways to seduce her but she held steadfast that she needed closure with Walter's death and then she would deal with Tristan.
