I must have done something right in my life lately because I got to review another Himalayan Salt Lamp! I received the mini Salt Lamp which is 4 to 5 pounds and is actually perfect for me. The first one we got is in the living room and the new one is in the master bedroom. Mike, me and Charlie (our Yorkie) all suffer from seasonal allergies. I have been told that these work great on those so that is why I was so excited to get another one to put in a room that we use alot.
Poor Charlie is allergic to something outside, too! He comes in and within a few hours he will start hacking and coughing. I have told Mike over and over again not to let him go outside to play like that. I know he has to go out to use the bathroom but Mike lets him loose (we have a fenced in yard) and he will stay out there 30 to 45 minutes at a time. I told Mike if he doesn't stop, I have to take him back to the vet for more shots. Plus, do you want to see him suffer? Men, what are ya gonna do with them?
Now, the top picture of course is with the lamp off and then this one is with the light turned on. What a difference it makes, huh? First off I got this lamp from the Himalayan Salt Shop and wanted to send out a special Thank You for being so kind as to let me have another one to review!
The picture below shows you how versatile the images can be. I have been in a shop once and got to see the bowl one with all the little ones in the bowl and they truly are awesome! I even got to see some that were made into real lamps with shades!
I don't know how this Swan one was made, but I guess it took awhile. Isn't it beautiful? They have all kinds of animal shapes to choose from and they did it to start with to appeal to children but I think adults love them just as much. What better why to have something that will help with allergies and sinus trouble while looking at a beautiful piece of art! So, do go and check out all the animal salt lamps when you get a chance. You won't be sorry once you get there and see all the shapes and information there is to learn about Salt Lamps.
Oh, and if you decide to try one out, Himalayan Salt Shop gives a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee so if it doesn't work out for you, you can return it. But I really don't think you will. If you suffer from allergies, it is worth a shot just to see if you get some relief. Any relief to me is better than none.
Also, if you have someone in your family that has allergies, why not get them one for Christmas as a gift? They make excellent gifts whether they really need them for their health or just like to look at them. There is something very peaceful about looking at them while they are lit and the rest of the lights have been turned off.
This is just a snippet of what I took off of Himalayan Salt Shop's information section:
The Himalayan salt lamp makes use of the minerals that have been preserved for millions of years, releasing their special properties through the introduction of heat from an electric bulb or from the flame of a candle.
These special properties emitted from the Salt Lamp are responsible for promoting the health and wellness of individuals via ionization of the air and the eradication of pollution. The special properties Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamps consist of negatively charged ions that act on the contaminants in the air by neutralizing them and weighing them down so they can no longer circulate.
When this occurs, individuals can breathe more easily and many ailments and allergies that frequently afflict them begin to diminish. You can start out small like I did and work up into all sorts of sizes and shapes of salt lamps. You can get the salt lamps in shapes of animals such as dolphins, cats, turtles and bunnies. I have even seen some in lanterns and as candle holders. They also carry the salts that can be used in bath salts. You can also get the salt grinder should you need one to grind your salt chunks.
They also have the salt inhaler that Dr. Oz was talking about in my earlier paragraph, which is pictured below so that you can get an idea of what they should look like. Himalayan Salt Shop sells them if you can't find them locally in your area.
This is what I found under the About Us:
The Himalayan Salt Shop was founded in 2005 by Ernest Gaglione in the basement of a two family house in Bloomfield, NJ. Originally, Ernest had to lug his heavy inventory up and down steep basement stairs as he personally shipped each customer's order.
As his company grew through hard work and perseverance, Ernest reached the point where he could afford a small office space in Parsippany, NJ. Ernest continued to expand by employing a fulfillment center to help with the shipping of orders.
Today the Himalayan Salt Shop is one of the biggest internet retailers of authentic Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamps on the web. They also wholesale their products to businesses across the country.
