I was very fortunate recently to review an awesome new product called Creamy Portabella Mushroom Recipe Starter. Now, it is no secret here at home that we love mushrooms and this is no exception! So, I was delighted to make some Beef Stroganoff using their recipe starters. I even used the recipe that was on the can.
You can find recipes if you will gently take apart the label. There will different recipes on the various other flavors that they have and they should be just as good as the one we tried. The only time I veered from the recipe was to add an extra can of Portabello Mushrooms to the recipe. I also added some onions and garlic to the mix and then put it on to simmer for about 20 minutes. Other than that, I did exactly what was on the can's recipe. I did it on a night that I wasn't feeling too hot so knew I had to come up with something fast and quick.
We used egg noodles from the grocery store because I like them and they aren't as messy as some noodles. The picture above is the Recipe on the Can that we are talking about. We cooked the meat on high heat and then it taper it off. I tried to cut the beef stew meat into smaller pieces so that it would cook faster and plus it gives the dish more flavor.
This was a very quick and easy meal to put together and it is something that any working couple can appreciate. If you want you can substitute ground beef or turkey instead of the beef stew cubes. I have also tried it with chicken and instead of the Creamy Mushroom, use a Creamy Chicken and you have another meal that is quick and easy to prepare.
Here are the other options you can get on the Recipe Starter's from Progresso:
Yes, when you go to Progresso's site you will see the above ad and you can click on it and get 50 cents off! I wanted to show you all the types of flavors they had since I only got 2 of them and figured this would do the job nicely. I am so happy that I now have some help with fixing meals because my husband gets bored easily with food and so he doesn't like eating the same thing over and over. I can hardly get him to eat leftovers!
