Power Down Book Review

I have a really good suspenseful book that will keep you on your toes and wondering who the world is on what side! The book is called Power Down by Ben Coes and he sure does know how to write a bite your nails type of book. I never knew what was coming and who would survive, so if you like this type of book, then this is one you gotta read! Here is an excpert:
A hydroelectric dam blows up and the largest off-shore oil field in the hemisphere is destroyed, killing legions of Americans and bringing the country's largest energy company to it's knees. Among the survivors lies a mysterious oil platform worker and America's best hope for retribution: Dewey Andreas, a former Army Ranger and Delta who is dead set on following the trail of the terrorists.

As intelligent and law enforcement agencies scramble to untangle the Capitana disaster and unearth those responsible, the mysterious figure of Alexander Fortuna--an agent embedded into the highest levels of American society and business--sets into play the next of many long planned assaults on the U.S. eco-nomic infrastrucures. Now it's up to Dewey Andreas to put a stop to him........before it's too late.

I don't know how much of this is true but I know I have heard and read rumors that these terrorists kidnap young children and in this case it is a 6 year old boy out of his bed late one night and brought to America to a new family. The new father starts teaching his adopted son, Alexander Fortuna about the ways of jihad. (isn't it a shame that they ruin these children's lives)! He grew up in America so that he would know how to blend in and not get any suspicions aroused.

They manage to blow up an oil rig and a docking area that unloads containers, completely destroying everything. Then an attempted assination of the founder of the electric company was targeted but managed to escape, but his friend & his friend's wife were killed in the process. What no one knew was that an ex Seal just like Dewey! He survived and together him and Dewey Andreas along with the help of a man named Savoy, they manage to make life a little difficult for the terrorists.

Dewey is targeted when they find out he survived the bombing of the oil rig and learn that he is indeed an ex Seal. They think that their mole may have told him something, when in fact, he said nothing. So, Dewey is on the run for his life while trying to piece together why and what are they after?

Along the way, Dewey has to fight every step of the way until he is finally able to get to Washingon D.C. and tell his whole side of the story. Many people vouch for Dewey and so does the female counterintelligence place because she believes Dewey and has proof that he did not do it.

This really is an awesome book and the only thing that upset me was that I will now have to get the sequel to find out what happens to Dewey. I won't tell you why he is in even more danger now because it would ruin the whole ending of the book for you. But, it is a blockbuster, so get ready to ride a roller coaster on this one!

This sounds like a book that I would enjoy and that I could share with my father also. He loves suspense books but not so much the ones I read which generally have a lot of romance in them :)
