CoverGirl and Olay Product Review

Gosh, I have amazing news to share with you on 2 products I got to review recently. They are the COVERGIRL & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation and COVERGIRL & Olay Pressed Powder.

COVERGIRL & Olay combined their foundation and hydrating serum to help fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps hydrate to improve skin tone over time with continuous use. They have 14 shades to choose from and here was the only con in my getting this great foundation: they sent me buff beige and I would have been better off if I had been sent Ivory. I have very light skin. I do not get out in the sun so it is never tanned or even lightly tanned. Here are the 3 things it will help with:

**Instantly covers discolorations and age spots
**Hydrates to improve skin tone over time
**Foundation + Serum

Here is what I had to do to get this to work. I had some very light based moisturizer and I mixed it with the foundation and was able to get the color to tone down a little. I don't know if adding the moisturizer to the foundation causes it to not work as well, but I had no choice. The color was way too dark on me. I can tell you that when you do get the correct color, this awesome foundation with serum goes on so smooth, it feels like silk on your face. That was another reason why I was so bummed that this wasn't my color! It felt so good going on! Hence, that is why you don't see before or after pictures. Since I had to add something to the mix, I could not be sure what to attribute the difference in the before and after pictures.

You guys are gonna love their new pressed powder compact. I got the Fair/Light color and as you can see from the picture above, it is a tad too dark for me. There are 6 colors to choose from in the pressed powder. I would have done better with the Fair color. I was able to use this but only by using a makeup brush and not the little round powder puff you see in the picture. That put so much on my face, I almost looked comical! By using the makeup brush I barely swept it across the compact and then I have some mineral highlight powder that I dipped into to smooth it all out so that it wasn't so dark.

Now, maybe you are lucky and can use both of these products together but for me, I have found if I use one or the other by themselves, I come out looking better. I have reached that age that I can't use foundation and powder at the same time. I used to love them both when I was younger. Now the powders or liquid foundations are so much more better than they were when I was younger that you guys can get away with just using one.

CoverGirl has something that they call Get Color Matched and what they do is ask a series of questions and that way they determine which colors are best for you from your foundation to your eyes and lips. I would recommend that you do that so you don't get the wrong colors. I would rather take that extra step then to get home with the wrong colors.

I think all of you will love how both of these products go on and stay on throughout the day. I have friends who have used the coupons I gave them and purchased both products in the correct shades for them and they have all reported back how great they are and how their skin feels softer and not so made up or feel like they have a ton of goop on. So, I don't think you will be disappointed either in giving them a try. Just because I got the wrong colors for me, does not mean that you won't love these products.

I was able to get other opinions from women who did get the right color and had positive feedback from them. So, I can honestly say that you won't be sorry that you gave them a chance. After all, it is Olay and CoverGirl doing these and they are both well known for great products that work! So, go give them a try! I hope you will go by CoverGirl's Facebook page and say hi to them while you are there. You may even find some great ideas while you are looking around!

I have some extra $2.00 off coupons if any of you wish to have some, just leave a comment here on this post and I will get with you to send these out to you. Please remember, I only have a set amount and once they are gone, I won't have anymore. It will be first come, first served.

Mary Bearden personally reviewed these products. I did not receive any monetary compensation for my review, just a sample product. All opinions are mine and belong to me solely. My thoughts and opinions may differ from yours. Images were provided by me and the cranky camera! I am a BzzAgent and I was provided with a means to experience the product or service thru products that were mailed to me and I passed some along to friends and family. This did not in any way persuade me to give this product a favorable review.
