I was very lucky here recently to get to try out this awesome cereal, Fiber One from General Mills. I have seen it in the stores quite a bit but I am always hesitant to buy new flavors/brands of cereal I am not sure I will like or not. There have been some in the past that I didn't like and had to either give them away or throw them away. Now that I don't work, that isn't possible to just throw money away, so I stick to the cereals I know about. So, getting these 2 boxes really was amazing for me because I got to try one that I have been eyeing at the grocery store for awhile.
I was really impressed with how crunchy it was even after being in the bowl with milk. One thing I hate the most about some cereals is how soggy they get before you have the chance to finish it. With Fiber One with Nutty Clusters & Almonds, every bite was just as crunchy as the first bite! I have to tell you that I absolutely love almonds and I will pick up a box of cereal with almonds in it more than any other additives that are added in some cereals. To get a cereal of this quality and for it to be flakes (which are the ones that get soggy the most of all cereals), this one held up really nice. So, Thank You very much for making this cereal crunchy!
Oh, by the way, Fiber One has a Recipe section where you can make some delicious treats or help spice up some entrees like chicken with any of their cereals. I was really impressed with some of their sweets that they made. I never would have thought to use Fiber One cereal in any recipe, so I am gonna check this out more carefully.
Do you know how much fiber is in the cereal Fiber One? I was curious so I checked it out on their webiste and here is what I found:
**Contains 11 grams of fiber (43% of the Daily Value), 23 grams of whole grain (at least 48 recommended daily), and 180 calories per serving
**Chock full of delicious crunchy nut clusters, real sliced almonds and whole grain flakes.
I also got this really neat looking wooden bowl and a pair of nut crackers:
I love the way that they put the grooves in on the top of the wooden bowl so that the nut crackers can sit on top of the bowl without having to just lay them on top of the nuts. I will really get the full use of this awesome bowl at Thanksgiving and Christmas. For some reason, everyone wants nuts during the holidays.
I don't know about you and your family, but because of my stomach issues, I try alot harder to get products that have a little more fiber and nutrients in them to help me know that I am getting the daily required amounts of fiber and other supplements. To help you get a box of Fiber One they have given me a the code to save $1.25 off of one box of Fiber One! Just go here and fill out the information for the coupon.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how many products Fiber One actually has including bars, brownies, yogurt, cottage cheese, baking products and bread products. I never knew about any of these except the bars. I have actually tried several flavors of their bars and they are downright awesome. They will tide you over if dinner or lunch will be late. I mostly use them as in between meal snacks instead of the ones that do nothing but add calories to my day.
Lastly, they have all kinds of tips and suggestions for you on how to add more fiber to your diet and which ones are better for you than others. You will also get tips on how to add their cereal to some recipes to up your fiber intake. Their site is a wealth of information for anyone looking to increase their fiber intake.
I also am excited about the What's New section as they have added a 90 calorie cookie to help with managing your weight! I sure do hope that you will go and take a look around. I think you will be amazed at what you find! Oh, and you can check out their Facebook page for some additional information and you can follow them there to get updates on what they are doing or what products they are coming out with. So, take a moment and see if this is something that can help you in the future.
The awesome folks at Fiber One would love to give one winner the same package that I received to review which includes:(2) boxes of Fiber One Nutty Clusters & Almonds cereal along with the same `Nut´ Bowl & Spoon that I showed you above. Open to the U.S. only. Good Luck!
