Katz Bakery Sponsor Spotlight Review

Oh, my Gosh! Have you guys had a chance to try Katz's new Doughnuts? Wow, they are so awesome that even my husband Mike said that they were good! Now, that is huge for him to say that because he does not like healthy made food and will turn his nose up at it just about every time. Here is what we got to review:

1. Box of Powdered Sugar Donuts
2. Box of Cinnamon Sugar Donuts
3. Box of Cinnamon Rugelech

I will tell you that the flour to make the donuts is probably a little more heavier than what most people us. I think that maybe gluten free people have to eat that kind of flour or maybe it is just that way, I don't know. I have been eating some gluten free products off and on trying to find the right balance between the two. But other than the doughnut being heavier than our doughnuts are, they really are quite delicious! We had white confectioner's sugar all over both of us and the floor too! But, man,it was worth every darn bite that I could get. Another thing you need to know is that because they are heavier doughnets you will only be able to eat one at a time. If you eat one of these, you won't need to eat much for several hours!  The best part about these donuts is that they don't taste overly sweet. They have just the right balance and believe me, your kids won't notice, they will just notice that it justs tastes awesome!

The other box of donuts that we got was the Cinnamon and man, I thought the powdered sugar ones were great, these were just as awesome! I am a bit of a cinnamon freak anyway and can't pass anything up that has cinnamon & sugar. Even my morning cereals are cinnamon flavor! I know alot of people dunk their donuts in coffee, tea, whatever, but not me, I like them just like they are. As with the powdered sugar donuts, these are also slightly heavier than the normal donut from stores around your area, so please be careful when giving to children. I would suggest for the first time splitting one donut into maybe 4 pieces and see how they do. Nothing worse than having a child with a belly ache!

Don't they look fabulous? Mmm, I think these are gonna be my "new" best thing about Katz's! And talking about Cinnamon, I also got a container of their awesome Cinnamon Rugelech. I have had their vanilla and their chocolate so I am pretty well acquainted with their ruglech. Wait til you see them!

You can see by looking at them
that they are awesome, can't you?
It almost reminds me of a cinnamon  roll that has come out of  the oven. Rugelech's are alot more flaky and a little crunchy, well, that is if you  eat them like I do. Believe it or not, you can eat these frozen! It gives the rugelech a whole new taste! I haven't tried that with the donuts because I am not sure about a frozen donut but you never know.  By eating them out of the freezer, it gives you the perfect summer treat also for guests and for your home. They have a chocolate regelech that is really good frozen along with the vanilla also! We usually order at least 6 containers at a time and none of  them have disappointed us. The great thing about putting them in the freezer is that it will never go bad on you either. (Katz recommends that all of their products go in the freezer immediately upon arrival).  I think it's because they don't add all  those preservatives to help things stay fresh longer.

Oh, they have one other donut that we did not get to review but I wanted to show you and that was their Bavarian Custard Filling inside a powdered sugar ball that looks absolutely like a snowball!

What do you think? Aren't they absolutely delicious! That will be next on my of things to try. I used to eat those babies all the time when I was younger, but you never had to worry about calories back then! Mmm, Mmmm!

We have followed their site for a couple of years now. I first signed up because a friend's daughter must eat gluten free. Our daughter is now introducing foods to her baby and has concerns about allergies. I am glad I know about Katz in case she needs them.

I haven't heard of Katz before, but I checked their website & found what stores close to me carry their products - I'll have to get some.
