I do have my personal favorites and that is the baking accessories for my cookies, muffins, cakes, etc. One of those is the Walnut Baker Pieces. They are awesome in cookies and in my own homemade granola/trail mix that I do around Christmas. Of course, it really isn't Christmas, but we are having a great event called the 12 Days of Christmas in July that starts on the 20th and ends on the 31st of July. I am gonna show you some of the things that I have ordered or reviewed in the past that I love and give you a little info along the way.
But, here is the real reason I am telling you this, Bob's Red Mill has come thru for me again, and they are going to be offering the winner of my 12 Days of Christmas in July a $20 Gift Card to spend on whatever you love best from them! Now, how about that! I wasn't planning this one, it just sorta fell into my lap at the last minute, so we all need to give them a big shout out! THANKS BOB'S RED MILL FOR ALL THAT YOU DO FOR US! We really do appreciate it even though we may not say it often enough as we are always on the lookout for the new event, a new review, a new giveaway. We seem to never have enough time to stop and take a deep breath but tonight, I am doing that, because the folks at Bob's Red Mill really are a bunch of great folks!
Now, as you can see, I have another of my two favorites that you have seen me talk about before in the past, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix and the Honey Almond Granola! I love them both very much. We did add some extra chocolate chips and some pecans to the cookie mix to make some of the best tasting cookies! That is the other great thing about Bob's Red Mill, you have access to their recipes that they have come up with or ones that we, the customer, blogger, mom have helped them with. Now, I hope most of you have had the chance to try any of their granola mixes! If not, you gotta get the Honey Almond Granola! It goes with everything. I have added it to Oatmeal, to my regular cereal, to yogurt for the fiber and I have actually ate a whole bag just by itself! (of course not in one sitting)! I bet you thought that, didn't you? I almost put my foot into my mouth on that one! But seriously, this is one of the best granola!
The last thing I am gonna talk about is their 13 Bean Soup Mix. Now, for real, if you love soup, especially Bean Soup, then I recommend this one very much! If you love cornbread, this is the perfect soup mix to make up a batch and go to town as we say here in Georgia! I make cornbread muffins and I use a recipe that calls for sugar in it and it makes the sweetest and most moist cornbread ever! Ask my hubby! We have even ate it as a dessert.
But, back to the 13 Bean Soup Mix, you won't go wrong with this one if you follow the directions for their Chili Soup Recipe:
•1-1/4 cups 13 Bean Soup Mix
•1 two 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
•1 garlic as desired
•1 - Tbsp. chili powder
•1 lb Brown ground beef and drain
•1 chopped medium onion
•1 dash pepper
•1 tsp salt
SOAK 13 Bean Soup Mix overnight or soften by boiling five minutes and allowing to soak at least one hour. DRAIN and cover with water and SIMMER until tender (about 3 hours). Brown 1 lb. of ground beef and drain. ADD one chopped medium onion and garlic as desired, two 8 oz. cans of tomato sauce, 1 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder, 1 tsp. salt, dash of pepper, and the cooked 13 Bean Mix. SIMMER all together one hour. Makes 5 servings. (Now, I will admit, I did add one extra thing, I put Tumeric in all my spicy or tomato based meals because I have GERD and IC, which is chronic bladder pain brought on my spicy or tomato based products)
The Tumeric cuts down on the acidity in both tomato based products and in spicy foods. Plus, if you did not know this, it also helps with inflammation. Ask your doctor if you don't believe me. They say the ancient people used it all the time to heal wounds. It has been a standard use for all types of ailments. I can only tell you that when I add Tumeric to certain foods, I can eat a small amount without affecting my health. (I did say small amount, so don't go eating 2 or 3 bowls in one sitting!)
Oh, and don't forget about the Spar Spurtle 2 recipe contest going on until July 22nd. You may have the winning recipe that will take you all the way to Scotland with Bob's Red Mill if you are chosen. Just click on the link in the first sentence to hear more about it! Hurry, you don't have much time.

Now, you have no excuses that you did not know how to get in touch with them or to just go take a peek and see what you might find. Also, this is one of the best places to find Gluten Free Food that I know of. I use it even though I am not allergic to Gluten, but because I have IBS and it does seem to help a little. I will take a little over nothing any day, plus I think it is healthier for you to not have all that processed stuff going on in there.
