Vibrant Foods Review

I was very fortunate recently to be able to taste some different kinds of pretzels and a dry dip that can be used for bread dipping or even to coat chicken or pork before baking. They came from a company called Vibrant Flavors. Here are the products I got to review:

1. Sweet Onion Pretzels
2. Roasted Garlic Pretzels
3. Barbeque Pretzels
4. Italian Herb Pretzels
5. Zesty Dry Dip
6. Coconut Dry Dip
7. Traditional Dry Dip

I really loved the Sweet Onion pretzels the most. Then came the Barbeque ones and the Italian Herbs. My husband loved the Roasted Garlic Pretzels. They were a tad too zesty or strong, whatever you want to call it. And I really love garlic but these were just too strong for me, but hubby and his friend from work thought they were awesome. Each one had their own unique taste and I was somewhat amazed at the flavors that were put into these pretzels. Who would have thought you could do so much with pretzels? They are simply amazing and I hope that you decide to give them a chance. They actually had some more flavor that I did not get to try out was the Beerzels.
I also got to try Oregon Dukkah's Dry Dip mixes that can be used for just about anything really. The only flavor we did not try was the Smoky Hot, which is a good thing, because I can't tolerate things that are hot, so that was good!
The Coconut Dukkah has toasted coconut combined with roasted hazelnuts, sesame seeds, peanuts and spices makes Coconut Dukkah a perfect match for soft fruits, fish and rice.

These mixes are a combination of hazelnuts, seeds and other exotic spices which make them great as coatings on baked chicken, fish, or you could even try it on bananas, mangos or on yogurt. It says to experiment and find out what you like it on as it has many ways of changing the food flavor. It is rich in fiber, minerals and antioxidants. Come to find out that Dukkah was a main staple that ancient travelers relied on in the desert. Just think, we are actually experimenting with food that has been around a very long time!
The Sweet Dukkah has a mixture of hazelnuts, sesame seeds, peanuts and warm spices and a touch of turbinado sugar makes Sweet Dukkah a welcome addition to yogurt, oatmeal, baked apples and ice cream.
The Zesty Dukkah has tangy spices enhance roasted hazelnuts and sesame seeds and peanuts. Serve it as an intriguing dry dip, or use Zesty Dukkah to liven up yogurt, meats, fish and chicken or mix with honey for a unique glaze. Here is what I found under About Us:
Vibrant Flavors is a dream come true. Literally. Donna Dockins created original recipes and healthy meals for her clients in a private chef and catering business. She often thought about how to bring these delicious recipes to the world. When a friend from New Zealand introduced her to dukkah, the dream became reality. Dukkah, a blend of nuts, seeds and spices, is a traditional food from Ancient Egypt. Eaten as a snack or part of a light meal, dukkah is known for its complex flavors, crunchy texture and nutritious attributes.

After realizing that dukkah’s main ingredient was hazelnuts, one of Oregon’s major crops, Donna’s quest began. She developed five unique flavors of dukkah using the traditional base of hazelnuts, sesame seeds and peanuts. Vibrant Flavors Oregon Dukkah is a healthy, delicious product made from locally sourced Oregon ingredients. The packaging for Oregon Dukkah is produced in Oregon and is made from recycled and biodegradable materials.

Donna’s attraction to the unique and unusual soon had her experimenting again. This time with an old favorite – hard pretzels. Crunchy, flavored snacks have always been a favorite of hers. Never liking the greasy film or sticky powder that coated her hands when eating flavored chips, she engaged her creative spirit to develop something clean, crisp and different. After many months of trial and error, she developed a unique way to flavor hard pretzels. Vibrant Flavors Pretzels are all natural, crunchy and delicious.
